  • "We were pleased to have a downstairs bedroom as being disabled we would never have managed the stairs."

Not so pleased to have to walk through the kitchen to visit the bathroom especially at night. We found the shower handle almost impossible to turn off as it was so stiff. It would be good to have instructions for the oven as being technically challenged we all found turning on the oven a bit difficult as the symbols only showed for a moment. The heating was also rather temperamental however when we contacted maintenance they sorted any problem straight away Our dogs were well catered for, lots of throws and treats. The cottage was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.

Dear Felicity, Thank you for your detailed feedback and for choosing to stay with us! We're glad to hear that the downstairs bedroom was convenient for your needs, and that you found the cottage comfortable overall. We appreciate your comments regarding the layout, and we understand that walking through the kitchen to access the bathroom at night can be less than ideal. Unfortunately this is the layout of the property. We will certainly take your feedback into consideration if in the future we need to change the layout. We also apologise for any difficulties you encountered with the shower handle and oven. There was a manual on how to operate the oven in the bottom draw. Your suggestion for clearer instructions for the oven is very helpful, and we will work on providing more comprehensive guidance for our guests and consider if this should be in the welcome information. We’re glad that our maintenance team was able to address any issues promptly during your stay. It’s great to hear that your dogs were well catered for with the throws and treats. We hope you all enjoyed your time together in the cottage. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We hope to welcome you back for an even better stay in the future! Warm regards, Jacki and The Team at The Grange Holidays Property Owner

  • "The only comment would be, the garden is not small dog friendly, our dog kept escaping through the hedge and gate."

It wouldn’t take much to rectify this.

Hi Maureen Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate your comment about the garden not being small dog-friendly and understand how that would have been challenging. We will certainly look into ways to improve this, as we want to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all of our guests and their pets. Thank you again for your valuable input, and we hope to welcome you back in the future. Warm regards Jacki and The Team at The Grange Holidays Property Owner

  • "The property was in a lovely location, with all amenities provided we enjoyed a well needed break away as a family of 5."

However we were rather disappointed with the Hot tub as after 3 days the water smelt like a pond, it was clear the maintenance team had not been to add more chlorine, as on arrival the water smelt clean with chlorine. We did feel the overall cleanliness was okay but could be improved, there are many cobwebs in the lighting. As advised we had to leave the place clean and tidy, on trying to hoover the floor there was no suction from the hoover, this was because it was totally full, it had no been emptied in a long time. We did empty it to leave the place clean, not that we should have needed to. Regrettably due to the above points made I don't think we will be returning.

Dear Tiffany Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the lovely location and amenities, and that you had a well-needed break away with your family of five. However, we are sorry to learn that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We sincerely apologise for the issues you experienced with the hot tub. We provide clear instructions on its use and provide rules that are to be followed. If the water is topped up during your stay, it can indeed dilute the chemicals, which may have led to the issue you described. Had we been made aware of the problem; we would have been more than happy to resolve it promptly. We do regret any inconvenience caused to your stay. Regarding the overall cleanliness, we appreciate your comments and apologise for the cobwebs in the lighting and the full vacuum cleaner. This feedback has been shared with our cleaning team to ensure such oversights do not happen in the future. We are grateful that you took the time to empty the vacuum, although we agree this should not have been necessary. Guests feedback is invaluable to us at The Grange as it helps us improve our services, and we genuinely hope you might reconsider visiting us again. • "The cottage on first sight was lovely."

However it was not cleaned to good standards. There was no brushes or mood for wood flooring. Overall it was not clean and was off putting. The gate out up to help keep the dogs in was dangerous in the wind and there was numerous gaps in hedges. Garden was not lashed but overgrown and untidy.

Dear Marilyn, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're glad to hear that you found the cottage lovely on first sight, but we're truly sorry that certain aspects of your stay didn't meet your expectations. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the cleanliness of the cottage. Our cleaning supplies, including the mop and brushes, were stored in a cupboard, but we understand that this wasn't clear and will make sure they are more easily accessible in the future. Regarding the garden, we are sorry that the temporary measure we put in place to provide an enclosed area for your dogs was not suitable for your needs. The tarpaulin tied to the fencing by yourselves may have posed a health and safety risk in windy conditions, and we appreciate your efforts to make the space work. You will be delighted to hear that this temporary solution has since been rectified, and a proper fence has been installed to ensure a safe and secure environment. We also acknowledge your comments about the garden's condition and will ensure it is properly maintained going forward. We truly value your feedback as it helps us improve our services, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again to see the improvements. Warm regards, Jacki and The Team at The Grange Holidays Property Owner

  • "Good location for accessing East Coast resorts and exploring East Yorkshire."

Easy to walk into Flamborough and shop, P.O. cafes, Fish & chips etc. Good outdoor space and hot-tub. Kitchen well equipped and comfortable sitting/dining room. Lovely upstairs bedrooms, but less comfort downstairs room - bare cold floor, clothes storage & hanging not ideal and could do with a chair. Shame the downstairs shower room couldn't be accessed from the bedroom.

Hi Sue, Thank you so much for your feedback and for choosing our property for your stay. We're delighted to hear that you found our location convenient for exploring East Yorkshire and accessing the East Coast resorts. It's great that you enjoyed the outdoor space and hot tub, as well as the well-equipped kitchen and comfortable sitting/dining room upstairs. We appreciate your constructive comments about the downstairs room and shower room. We'll certainly take these into consideration for future improvements to enhance our guests' comfort. We hope you had a wonderful time overall, and we'd love to welcome you back for another visit in the future! Best regards Jacki and The Team at The Grange Holidays Property Owner

Clean and well-furnished house. Ideal location for exploring Flamborough and surrounding area. Lots of friendly advice and information before getting to house from ‘Sykes’, which was appreciated. We didn’t know this area well, but Bempton Cliff Nature Reserve is just stunning, and the beaches around Hummanby are massive and all dog friendly.

  • "The garden needs some work I realise it is winter & it’s such a shame it isn’t secure, it could be so beautiful."

The hot tub was lovely with towels supplied which is great. The windows would not open which was concerning in the event of a fire. Really needed coat pegs downstairs nowhere to hang several wet coats after a walk. The house was well equipped lovely box of supplies for the dogs. Comfortable beds. Overall a pleasant stay. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback. I've raised the issue with the windows and the great suggestion for coat hooks with our maintenance team. We have plans to make the garden enclosed, so hopefully the next time you visit you'll see this has been done. Property Owner
