  Modern oven easily cook all week if needed, full size fridge/freezer, Clean modern and tidy. Great location off the beaten track in the countryside, so no traffic noises etc, slept like a log all week. Hot tub great to relax in with a beer after a day out. Scarborough and Whitby within easy access for fun days out. Lots of walking available if you have a dog and on that note beware there are sheep and horses outside the front door so keep your dog under close control and on a lead. Will definitely be booking again, great place to stay and relax.

  The location was perfect for our requirements very peaceful and wonderful walks right outside the front door and then just a 10 minute car journey to Scarborough. Hot tub was wonderful although could do with being presented a little better ie canopy/ surroundings and courtyard could do with a spruce up. A shaver / toothbrush point would be helpful in the bathroom. Think the track leading to the cottage should be mentioned as a bit of a bumpy ride, but having said that I would visit again and would highly recommend.

  The cottage is quiet out of the way in the middle of nowhere if this something you like. Very clean and well equiped cottage. Very comfortable and lovely hot tub. Very thankful they let us stay an extra night. Only thing i would suggest is a comfier seating area outside for when its sunny. Will definitely recommend.

  Only 4 miles from Scarborough but you’d think you were in the middle of nowhere it’s that quiet and peaceful. The cottage is kitted out with really good quality utensils, bedding and furniture. The hot tub is spacious and really lovely to chill in at the end of the day. We had an amazing time and will defo be booking again.

• "We had a wonderful stay over the Easter Weekend."

  The cottage was clean, comfy and very spacious. The views and scenery were just beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing. Added bonus of having the use of the hot tub especially after being out walking. Location is good too, we visited Scarborough, Dalby Forest, Bridestones NT site. Thankfully the weather was bright and sunny so made the stay even more enjoyable. We had a small issue with the TV not working correctly, which Chris fixed for us quickly. All in all, a fab stay in a beautiful location. Friendly owners with 2x lovely dogs running around. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'd recommend Crabtree.Cottage and would stay again.

• "The cottage itself is beautiful."

  Very clean and comfortable and so well equipped. Little touches such as milk waiting in the fridge and the treat of biscuits, tea and coffee on arrival were lovely. The cottage provides a wonderful hot tub, which we didn't get to try due to our own physical ability, but it is there as another wonderful extra touch. There is a long, bumpy, farm track to leading up to the property , but this is a working farm, and as long as you are aware of the access, not a problem. We enjoyed our stay and found our hosts friendly, welcoming and helpful .

  It has been done to a very good spec. Had a relaxing comfortable stay and would recommend. Little added touches of furnishings, games and books was fab. For us it was great, i would of liked an additional blanket or throw and maybe some larger towels. The only thing i would consider to advise people is the road to the cottage although well maintained is a long way on stones. You need to be able to either drive up this road or walk it to get to nearby walks.

  The kitchen and living room was spacious with everything you need, the bedroom was comfortable and the bathroom had the best shower. Was a real treat having the hot tub after being out all day. Couldn’t fault it at all and would definitely stay ago if in the area.

  The cottage is lovely and very well appointed the owners of the cottage live on site as it is a working farm and they are a lovely couple very friendly and we felt really at home here. When we go back to the area again, we would definitely book this cottage. We wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else. if you’re looking for a lovely quiet place to stay, I can highly recommend crab cottage. I don’t think anyone could fault it.

• "Such a pretty, clean cottage but long dirt track to farm was in need of maintenance."

  It was also a working farm with sheep so was unable to walk our dog very far. The mattress on bed was not fit for purpose neither was the uncomfortable settee. Both had seen better days. We abandoned our holiday after two nights and came home. Left in disappointment with aches and pains. Spoke to Sykes sales team but outcome was disappointing as property owners weren’t bothered.

  So sorry that your holiday was disappointing, the mattress and settee have both been replaced and we did try to accommodate by buying a new mattress topper. There are many walks and public footpaths from straight outside the cottage door all we ask is to keep dogs on a lead when walking through sheep but believe most dog owners would do this anyway. We most certainly do care about our visitors and try our best to make their stay comfortable and enjoyable. Property Owner

  Just as shown on the pictures but a bit too rural for me . The track down to the property is not the best and your car will be covered in dust as was mine. Be careful of the hot tub lid as the space around it is very private but the lid isn’t like one I’ve seen before and it almost fell onto my partner’s head as we sat in it. Not far away from Scarborough which was a bonus.

  The view is unreal and hot tub was great. The whole stay was absolutely brilliant it was everything it was advertised as and more. The owners left us with milk in the fridge and welcome muffins along with all the essentials tea/ coffee etc. Kitchen was very well equipped. I would say that If you visit with a dog who may be reactive to other dogs to be extremely careful as over the course of the 3 day stay we had 7 different dogs off the lead outside the cottage- this is to be expected as is on a farm however did put us slightly on edge as our dog is reactive but we had no issues just double checked no dogs around before we let him out. All round fab stay.

  The cottage is very spacious and clean with an open-plan living room and fully equipped kitchen. We travelled as a couple and had a fantastic time, especially with the bonus of the hot tub! Loved watching the sheep and lambs in the field outside and the owners are friendly and welcoming. It's close to both Scarborough and Whitby with lots of little hidden gems round about. We would definitely stay again! Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

  Beautiful cottage spacious but no table or chairs to sit outside the road down to the cottage is appalling very rough no instructions on how to use cooker shower although very good slow to drain away settee too low needs replacing feels like kids have jumped all over it you sink into it not comfy to sit in no support nice gesture from owners though leaving milk n bread for you a bit disappointed to be honest in my stay came home on 3rd day

  We were sorry to hear that someone had complained about the road, it is a rural road but haven't had any other complaints about it. The outdoor furniture has been placed in storage for the winter. The cooker instruction book is located in the information pack. The Sofa is a low, modern distressed leather and has definitely not been jumped on. The issue with the shower would have been fixed immediately had we been informed. Property Owner

• "Whilst the Cottage and surroundings were lovely it needs a good overhaul regarding storage and cleaniness."

  Every cupboard,draw was filled up with paint. Brushes. Christmas decorations. Fire blanket was under the sink instead of the wall. No sign of any appliance having been PAT tested. The TV has a large white spot on the screen making watching difficult. Information pack was minimal. Mattress has come to the end of its life as very creaky and lumpy. A little more attention to detail would make this cottage wonderful.

  We returned home feeling very refreshed and relaxed. The setting is very peaceful and in a great location for visiting the nearby coastal towns. The cottage itself was immaculately clean warm and very comfortable. The hot tub was the best hot tub we have encountered and we've been on many hot tub cottage holidays. Judy gave us a warm welcome, explained where to find her if needed. I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends.

  Cottage is spot on! Cosy and very homely! The owner greeted us on arrival and left bread, milk and muffins on arrival! Lovely touch! Facilities are fab! Great shower, lovely fireplace and all kitchen appliances, dishwasher, hob, washing machine, etc. Internet streams well for Netflix etc. Views are amazing and love the private patio with the hot tub. The cottage is within 3 miles of a great pub, book in advance though as they are so busy! Would defiantly go back again!

The only thing we feel could be improved, as mentioned previously, is better storage for clothes in bedroom - we used our suitcases predominantly! We would definitely recommend this cottage.

  There is a secure yard. The people and farm dogs were lovely but maybe it was our fault but a busy and inquisitive pup needs a little space to roam and play in a secure area with no access to the fields of farm animals. The cottage is lovely, the setting is beautiful, the people are welcoming and friendly. We were very disappointed to have to leave slightly early as my wife needed medical assistance and it wasn’t possible (covid) to use the local practice. We had a lovely time and if we felt more comfortable with the provision for our pet we wouldn’t hesitate to go back again. The hot tub is amazing. The spacious cottage is superb and so many woodland and beach walks for dogs

  It was lovely and clean and very well equipped. It was very peaceful and quiet in lovely surroundings.The hot tub was fantastic and we used it every day. The owners are very friendly and we will definitely recommend to family and friends and hope to return.

• "The only problem was the long trek into the farm which was a bit bumpy but we got used to it after a couple of days, met some of the family on the farm and really friendly, the cottage was the best we have stayed at and we have been to many, hot tub brilliant overall a fantastic place to stay."

  Easy to find using google maps, the decor was really nice and modern. The cottage was very clean and especially with the current climate we felt safe. The owners were very welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and in fact wished we had booked longer than 3 nights. Would recommend and we will definitely be returning.
