There was a few things with cleaning etc that had been missed but it's a big house to clean especially when previous tenants didn't leave it in a good condition- hopefully we didn't leave it in a bad condition for you guys we did clean up the night before we left and cleaned all plates etc in the morning before leaving. All in all the whole family enjoyed our stay and we're thankful that we got to experience a family holiday in your house. Thank you.

Thank you for the feedback, hope the lack of a BBQ didn’t spoil your holiday too much. Property Owner

The house was very clean, well maintained and equipped to a very high standard. The children particularly enjoyed the games room and garden. The location is perfect for the beach (we were extremely lucky with the weather). It was great to have 5 parking spaces in a busy area, with restricted parking. The hotel, next door, offered a great carvery and breakfast at a very competitive price. We would come again!

  • "We had the most amazing time here!"

! Our party’s ages ranged from 17 to 75 years and each and every one of us enjoyed every moment!! Being opposite the beach was unbelievable, because we had beautiful weather it was perfect…all of the teenagers were over for a dip every morning and evening, and had a stroll into the town each night. The hotel next door was fantastic…even 20% discount off food and drinks. The property was fantastic, the only few negatives we had was the one fridge was far too small for a family of 13 (especially with teenage boys) and in the details it did state there were two fridges. Also we did have a problem with the boiler, having no hot water…but, the owners were very helpful and sorted it within the day we contacted them…they even travelled over an hour to come to us personally and sort it!!! The rooms, decor and views were absolutely stunning!! The cleanliness could have been a little better when you really looked (cobwebs, dirty taps and some dirty cutlery) but genuinely it was that minor that it didn’t affect our stay!!! All 13 of us would like to return next year!! WOW!!!

Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property."

Location great. Thankyou for putting heating on but only seemed to have lasted that day which was a bit disappointing. Turning off altogether on the coast early June not what was expected early morning & some evenings were quite chilly Most things were fine and the rooms were beautifully presented. Little things no decent sharp knives Sofas in lounge at front of house uncomfortably low & saggy for us. Front door was a little difficult to open Initially requires pulling towards when outside & pushing when inside The 1st floor lounge was a pleasure to sit in. Overall we have enjoyed the building and had a good base to see the sites from.

  • "We've just got back from a gorgeous week away at Southdowne - big family group with ages 85yrs - 2yrs."

Bedrooms were great, so nice and quiet. Gorgeous views of the beach - our favourite room was definitely the upstairs sitting room. Loved all being able to sit together to eat in the dining room. We had great fun exploring the local area and spent many hours on the beach....youngsters loved the games room (oldies loved that it was in a separate building out in the garden so we didn't have to listen to football/pool tournaments!) Very close to supermarkets (Tesco, Lidl and B&M just round the corner) - always useful when away with a big group. Special mention to the owners of Southdowne who really went above and beyond for us after one member of our party accidentally left some very sentimental jewellery at the house. Amazing communication and so helpful in us getting the items back. Thank you again. We would really love to return soon!

! The house is much bigger than it looks on the pictures. Everything you need is there very well equipped. The weather wasn’t on our side but we still made use of the beach which is a stones throw away with amazing views. Very clean. We had a slight issue during our stay but a quick call to Yvonne and it was all resolved within an hour! Brilliant. We have stayed in many Sykes properties over the years and I must say this is the best one to date!! None of us wanted to leave.

  • "The house was very comfortable and clean with everything needed for a family break."

Our only gripe was that no hot water was available one afternoon so a guest couldn't have a shower.

Thank you for the feedback, glad the house was clean and comfortable. Sorry about the guest who couldn’t shower in the afternoon, the water is on for 4 hours in the morning and comes on again at 5.00pm for another 3 hours, unfortunately it is not feasible to leave it on all the time. We do however leave a contact number that you can call us on with any concerns and we could then turn on the water remotely or you can do it locally from the heating stat, hope that helps. We were a group of 10 plus dog, and had a fantastic week. Bridlington itself was lovely and exceeded our expectations. But the house was even better… so much room, so many rooms, such comfort, it was an absolute joy. Our favourite room was the upstairs lounge. Fantastic views of the beach and sea both in the sunshine and in the rain and wind!

Extremely well equipped, great location and a place we will definitely return to. Only snag and its a very small niggle, the room with a bunk bed double at the bottom with single on top was not ensuite and there were no separate bathrooms or toilets on that floor. The small cupboard in that room maybe more useful as a toilet facility.

  • "This is by far the best property we have ever stayed in and totally suited our needs."

We were a family party of 3 generations celebrating my mums 80th birthday and the property suited everyone's needs perfectly. The location is great, close (but not too close) to town centre, just meters from the beach and the most amazing views from many of the rooms. The upstairs lounge was perfect to watch the sunrise over the sea. The property was spotlessly clean and is decorated to a really high standard with lots of unique touches. It's bigger than it appears from the photos meaning there's lots of space for everyone whether we wanted to be together or times when we wanted a bit of space. The games room is a great addition and well used although obviously cold this time of year. The kitchen is well equipped with high spec appliances and had everything we needed to cook some lovely meals. We ate out at Seacroft next door on the Sunday, beautiful carvery and even better as given 20% discount when we mentioned we were staying at Southdowne. Great friendly support from the owner before and during our stay as I had a few questions, all of which were answered promptly and a lovely welcome card and gift for my mum. I could go on for ever, I hope we get the opportunity to return some day, it really is a stunning unique property.

Caters for range of ages with games room, quieter sitting areas for others and large dining, kitchen areas for when everyone gets together. • "Let me start with WOW!"

The property had everything stated in the description and more. I have never stayed in a holiday home so well equipped. The bedrooms were just right for our 16 strong party, all of whom loved the house. From the 21 month old who had such fun with the well thought out toys, to the children from 6 to 13 who used the games room every day, and made use of the buckets, spades and rounders set on our trip to the beach. The adults had an array of areas to chill out in including the sunny garden, huge social kitchen, and gorgeous living rooms, and the grandparents who loved that everyone else enjoyed themselves. The property is in the best location, with lots of parking for guests, and we all had great sleeps in the very comfortable beds, with so many bathrooms there was no waiting for anyone to get ready. The welcome we had was so lovely, and everyone has said they would love to come back again. I could go on and on with the praise as there are so many positive things to say about the property. Head to the kitchen, where you can sit at the dining table and keep the designated chef company whilst they get acquainted amongst the appliances.

Serve up culinary delights in the separate dining room, with enough seating for the entire group, plus there’s sea views from the bay window!

Put your feet up in the lounge, pondering on the holiday agenda whilst the electric fire gently heats the space.

Find the utility for your laundry needs, housing a washing machine and tumble dryer, with a rear door providing access to the enclosed garden; here you can relax upon the furniture whilst your pooch stretches their legs or head into the games room and enjoy a selection of games, including snooker, billiards, darts and table football.

Continue to the second-floor to find the master super-king-size with en-suite shower, walk-in wardrobe and TV, along with a king-size with en-suite bathroom.
