  • "A very pleasant bolt hole in Bridlington."

Had all the things I needed facilities wise. I was a little miffed that I couldn't get the television to work, not a big issue, but could be for others. I had to work out for myself how to get the boiler to work, to get hot water, not difficult to work out but could be for others. Would/could be useful to have a list of instructions of how to work things, just in case its not obvious.

  • "Owner needs to pay attention to details, particularly cleanliness as there was dust on all skirting and wooden edges, daido rails, etc."

Vanity storage under toilet sink needs a good clean. No bulb in toilet light. No WiFi as it was turned off as located in separate flat. Dish towel was really old and stained, missed matched crockery, cutlery and bedding. If this was all sorted would make a real difference. That all said, this is ideally located in Bridlington and when we did have any issues the owner quickly resolved them for us. If the small attention to detail is resolved this will be a lovely place.

The only thing I would say let's it down is it wasn't the cleanest. We also had no cold water from the bathroom tap. Other than that it is a lovely apartment, amazing value and ideal location.

Although the flat was in a good location t was not up to the usual standard of accommodation we have had using Sykes over the years , the cleanliness was poor kitchen area was not clean , shower was mouldy and dirty ,think layer of dust on headboard of bed and under bed was filthy , bed was also very low and uncomfortable handle in living room window broken so could only open one side , sofa had big dip in it making it very uncomfortable definitely would not recommend this flat

  • "This is a nice apartment, but I really wouldn’t recommend it for anyone older or with any mobility issues."

As the stairs to the apartment are very steep and have a narrow curved top with no real banister at the curved point, making it problematic. There was a problem with the toilet and the owner was great and response to issues was immediate and helpful. He moved my parents to another apartment, which was again nice. The only real issue is you can tell no one has been in for a while and it has that slightly unused smell, not enough to put you off, but the owner probably needs to do something about it. Also some little touches like no real glasses, limited cutlery and furniture such as settees are ready to be replaced. But in complete fairness you can get past these issues and accept for the price this is still a bargain. If the owner spent some money on this place it could be a real gem but obviously the rent would reflect this. The apartment is in an excellent position, with easy access to everything and a short stroll from the beach.

  • "The location of the flat was perfect, close to the beach and for central Bridlington."

The standard of cleaniness was poor in places. i.e. under the bed (receipt dated 15/6/21, a coat hanger and a large wooden sign ).Dirt and dust underneath the sofa. Kitchen window, bathroom and right side bay windows didn't open. Left side bay window requires checking. The matress is appalling, consequently the sheet doesn't stay in place. The bedroom blinds didn't work properly. No clothes drawers in the bedroom. The hanginging rail is very high and difficult to reach. The fire escape door has a wide gap at the bottom. The shower plug requies cleaning and consequently doesn't drain correctly. The shower head needs descaling. No cold water from bathroom tap and the plug doesn't fit and water just drains out. Bathroom cupboard iis filthy. There is no shelf in the bathroom or in the shower to place toiletries etc. The wardrobe curtain rail needs altering to enable the curtain to be pulled back. Two bedside lights would be more convenient rather than just one.. No freezer compartment in the fridge which restricted what food we could have. No suitable containers for use in the microwave. Eleven glasses and only usable mugs, consequently we were forever washing the mugs. Only three dessert knives which again was inconvinient when needing two knives each when eating. The photos don't depict the lack of maintenance and finish of woodwork. The settee was grubby and uncomfortable. The front entrance was dirty with several levels to negoiate leading to a steep staircase. Care is required when parking due to the limited space. Several of the above comments have been mentioned in previous reviews and obviously haven't been rectified.Hopefully the owners will remedy these problems.

  • "The standard of cleanliness was poor in places especially as at the moment it should be Covid clean."

The shower screen was dirty and under the bed had obviously not been vacuumed for a long time. The saucepan draw was also dirty. There was no cold water running from the tap in the bathroom. The settee frame was broken making it quite uncomfortable to sit on.

  • "Excellent location and a comfortable apartment."

Although: The bathroom tap wouldn't run any cold water; The shower required a microscopic tweak to find the balance between scalding hot and freezing cold and the microwave overheated and shut down after 4 mins use... But we were the very first guests to arrive post covid-19 easing of restrictions so we 100% attribute the issues to the property being shut for several months. Would we go again? Absolutely - we're already looking to rebook a midweek break in the same building.

Very clean in the kitchen, lounge, bedroom. A couple of cobwebs in the cup in the bathroom but it was passable because of how beautiful it was! The only problem was the bed slats were broken, so part of the bed dipped down and was uncomfortable sometimes whilst sleeping, but apart from that, AMAZING! So close to the beach, pubs, etc. Would definitely recommend.

G.tops of skirting boards, window sills and back edges of work top and breakfast bar). Blinds were not clean. An old sign for the apartment was left under the bed and was thick with dust. No dishes and bowls suitable for cooking food in the microwave or casserole dish for the oven. Minimal crockery and utensils provided. The sofa was uncomfortable. There was no vacuum or dustpan and brush (or duster) to clean floors etc. No drawers for clothes or shelves for toiletries, so had to leave most things in our suitcase. We would not return to this property, despite its very convenient location. Seems like you have not inspected the standard of the accommodation - we will think twice before booking through you again if this is the standard you accept.

Good location for beach, shops, pub, restaurants etc. The only negatives were really just personal taste, bedroom was very bright in the mornings(we have black out curtains at home), there were no cleaning items ( would have liked a dustpan & brush at least!), settee was uncomfortably(it had no arms!).
