"The apartment was very clean, warm and well equipped, The king sized bed was extremely comfortable, however the sofa was very uncomfortable indeed."
No support on the seating just sinks and the back throws your head forward making it really uncomfortable. Parking by the apartment is limited, we were lucky enough to be able to park on the area to the he front of the main property as ino one was occupying it at the time.

"We had a lovely time at the apartment, it was better than we had expected, warm and cozy but plenty big enough for two people."
Well appointed, all you need for short/long stay and the welcome pack was a nice surprise.

"Perfect for a single or couple who are out and about a lot, being on my own I was home in the evening and found the sofa not very comfortable and the tv rather small, the heating also didn’t come on until later and I couldn’t find a way to change the settings , I would have preferred the heat on for a couple of hours earlier evening rather than longer and later and it was rather cold in the morning as no heating came on but had it been the warmer summer months it wouldn’t have been needed."
The apartment was lovely and clean and well maintained and the scones were a lovely touch

"The apartment suited me very well indeed and provided a good base to explore the surrounding area."
It was comfortable and homely with a lovely welcome pack! The only improvement I would look for would be that the shower pressure be reduced! I am sure I will use the apartment again.
Hello, Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay and sorry about the pressure on the shower, we will try and remedy this. Property Owner

"We felt the property was smaller than expected but we sòn got used to that."
We were a little put out when the owners son attended to remove something from the property once we had arrived. This could have been done beforehand. The noise from the flat above was unacceptable but soon rectified once I texted the landlady. However it would great to receive a reply to any correspondence.
Hello, I am sorry about the late response and for the little niggles of noise and disturbance. Property Owner

"Just a mini break from the kids."
A small basement appartment in walking distance of 2 beautiful fishing villages sounded perfect. On arrival we were greeted by a picnic basket containing fresh baked Soda bread and fruit scones with home made jam and fresh picked flowers from the garden in every room. What a warm and thoughtful welcome. The apartment is small and neat and extremely cosy. I wanted to bring the big brass bed home with me. The most comfortable sleep Ive had in ages. The kitchen is well equipped for all your needs and everything is beautifully maintained. Lunch and breakfast in the garden at the rear of the building where there is a picnic table. Lovely neighbours who are happy to share their knowledge of the area. Neither my husband or I drive so been on the main bus route for this part of the North Yorkshire coast was a god send. Trips to Staithes Harbour, Runswick Bay and Whitby were all achieved via the regular half hourly X4 bus. The village is lovely with lots of history, very friendly locals and a small shop and coffee shop in walking distance. Woodland walks with a babbling stream make this destination very picturesque if you appreciate the simple things in life. If you want a cosy romantic weekend break for two I can't recommend The apartment at Mulgrave House enough. There are other self contained appartments for let in the main house above so if you have an extended family but like your privacy, then Mulgrave House would be perfect as a multi booking. I highly recommend it.
Oh, Thank you so much for your lovely feedback! we are thrilled that you had a lovely time in the apartment.. please come back soon. Property Owner

"Dog friendly but no secure garden."
Facilities all good comfy bed, light sleepers so did not do well with the fridge and boiler in the bedroom.
Hi there, thanks for your feedback. There are gates for the garden now which does make it secure. Property Owner

"Location ideal for the coast and North Yorkshire Moors."
Easy access on foot to Staithes and Runswick bay. The main issue is the noise from the apartment above. There were 4 adults and children upstairs and the noise from the constant walking and running around was horrendous. Washing machine on at 8am and children running around.
Hello, I am sorry about the noise upstairs this does happen especially with larger families. Property Owner

Thank you and hope to see you again. Property Owner

Where you’ll be staying
STAITHES
Whitby 10 miles.
The charming and sleepy seaside village of Staithes, with its cobbled streets and back alleys, is something of an artist’s dream. Its pretty houses and cottages are clustered around the old harbour and surrounded by high craggy cliffs on three sides, with a sheltered sandy beach set amongst the rocky coastline. The village can claim connections with Captain Cook who was apprenticed to a draper near the harbour. Nowadays, Staithes is a must for anyone visiting the Yorkshire Coast and has a good selection of pubs, shops and tea rooms. Staithes is still home to an RNLI lifeboat station and a small fleet of cobles (fishing boats) landing fish, crab and lobster, with boat trips for birdwatching, fishing and even whale watching available. It’s also the location of the popular BBC children’s TV series, Old Jack’s Boat. Staithes has a strong attraction for artists, with an annual Art and Heritage Festival, galleries and artists studios with art courses and workshops regularly on offer. There’s a free Illusion Trail, which guides visitors around the network of ginnels (alleyways), with trail guides available locally. The best views of the town can be enjoyed from the Cleveland Way which runs down the cliff to the sea’s edge. Altogether a superb base for exploring the Yorkshire Coast, visiting the larger resorts of Whitby or Scarborough and enjoying the moorland villages of the North York Moors National Park.
