  • "Nice little cottage in a good location."

Close to shops and eating places. The heating kept going on and off which made the cottage chilly at times. Also we were there for a week and only received a bath towel each and one hand towel.

The heaters in the house come with Complete operating instructions found in the welcome folder. Like many heaters, our heaters have a timing feature. For stays longer than one week, we provide a fresh set of towels per guest, along with a complete turndown service. • "The property had clearly not been hoovered."

There was hair (human and dog) all over the bedroom and stairs carpet. The microwave had a blanket in top, again covered in dog hair. I do not have a dog and have very short hair so to find long hair and dog hair was not nice. Admittedly, I only booked the property in my day of arrival which didn't give much notice, however, I would always expect a property to be clean. Although the listing said there was a starter for the fire, there was only 1 log which I thought a little lacking. The fridge door rack is broken so things fell out and the freezer is an ice box which has frosted over so there is no room for food. Over all I was very disappointed.

I was dismayed to hear of your dissatisfaction with your recent stay. I fully understand your feelings with regard to the dog hair. That's unacceptable and was frankly a surprise to me. My housekeepers are generally extremely thorough. We do have pets stay at the property on a regular basis. Generally it's not a problem to keep the cottage thoroughly cleaned. My sincere apologies. We've discussed the issue with our cleaning staff to make sure that it never happens again. With regard to the icebox. the cleaners were puzzled by the comment. It seemed perfectly OK to them when they checked. The door rack in the refrigerator section has been repaired. I believe it was a recent damage. With regard to the fire supplies, With all due respect, we leave kindling and firestarter cubes along with matches. Although there may occasionally be logs left over, from the previous guest, we generally do not stock them. Once again, my apologies for any discomfort you experienced. We are sincere in our efforts to keep our beautiful little cottage clean and warm and inviting for guests. And we will always strive to do better. In the future, perhaps contacting our staff during your stay might be a good option. That way we can rectify the issues on the spot! Best regards, Lawrence Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."

It is in a great location and was clean well maintained and tastefully converted. The only downside was the bathroom which did not have any sort of heating. This combined with a lack of effective ventilation caused the area around the window to be very mouldy which was a shame when everything else was great.

Thank you for your comments! We appreciate your feedback. As new owners of our beautiful little cottage, we are keen to make it the most perfect little holiday stay. So as we we enter the colder and wetter months for the first time, we’re keen to identify items for improvement and attend to them. Our recent weeks of continual rain have no doubt helped to identify this issue as we’ve never encountered it previously, and we will take the opportunity to rectify the problem. Our sincerest hope is that you found your overall stay very enjoyable! Please rest assured we will attend to your comments and we would be pleased to welcome you back any time in the future. Kind Regards, Lawrence and Carolyn Property Owner

  • "I had a wonderful weeks stay at this lovely little cottage."

Beautifully appointed and tastefully furnished. It was very clean, cosy and warm and close to the great attractions of Haworth with easy access to the Moor. Terrific little place, thank you.

  • "Had a very pleasant 5 night stay at the snug - which is aptly named!"

The cottage is well stocked with amenities and is decorated throughout to a good standard. We managed to find on street parking within a few minutes walk which was great. The location of the cottage in Haworth is excellent being only three minutes walk to Main Street. The hot water was plentiful and the water pressure very good for an invigorating shower. The sofa is lovely but very firm and the mattress on the double bed was a bit lumpy for our taste but I’m sure would be perfectly fine for others. The selection of teas and coffees provided for us to use was a lovely touch! I would unreservedly recommend the Snug for a cosy convenient stay in West Yorkshire. Thank you :)

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
