  • "The apartment and complex were lovely, but I would say the apartment is only suitable for 2 adults and 2 children, not 4 adults - the bunk beds were not great for adults."

The living areas and main bathroom were spacious and well equipped, but the bedrooms and en-suite were rather small, with not much room to move around and the tiniest sink I have ever seen in the en-suite.

  • "We stayed from 28th June 2024 - 5,th July."

We have stayed at The Lighthouse previously. The apartment was well positioned, good facilities and everything needed for a great holiday. Unfortunately this time the cleanliness was sadly lacking. Dusty everywhere. Crumbs and food stains on the table, which could have been from the previous occupants but should have been picked up by the cleaners. We would definitely stay again, but would hope the cleanliness would be much improved.

  • "1. oven switched off at mains and took some time to make it work."

Instructions needed or leave switch on at mains. Clock impossible to reset. 2. Microwave not intuitive and needs brief instructions 3. Similarly washing machine not intuitive and also needs instructions 4. Rooms are very tight 5. No recycling except glass. This needs to be addressed with management of resort 6. Extortionate drink prices (central London level) in John Paul Jones pub that also needs to be addressed with resort management. 7. Difficult parking and directions to flat suboptimal such that we had to hunt around for 30 mins to find entrance 8. A single toilet roll for 4 people is insufficient 9. No frying pan or oven ware 10. Why provide dishwasher tablets when there is not a dishwasher? 11. Plenty dog hairs in carpets. Needs cleaning better. Nonetheless the location for bird spotting cannot be faulted

  • "On the whole it was a very pleasant stay."

We stayed over Christmas, so it was nice that there was a decorated Xmas tree. The baby high chair is nearly new and was very welcome, saves on bringing one. There is also a fold up baby côt which is great, however it would only fit in the living room which was not ideal. It is worth mentioning there is a sizeable hallway which allowed us to put the dog bed on the laminated floor which the dogs are used too and keeps them off the carpeted areas. Just a note, there is no dishwasher, so it's hand washing up and the dish drainer sits on a tea towel on the work surface which can get quite wet. The sink itself does not have its own drain area. Overall we can recommend the Lighthouse as a great place to stay

Lovely and roomy nice and light our only recommendation would be maybe a small television in second bedroom this being said our daughter likes her own space and she asked where her telly was. Would highly recommend and we will certainly be coming back many thanks to the lovely owners who kindly allowed us to stay in their beautiful property

Excellent facilities, only problem was WiFi unavailable for 2 days. Lighting on communal landing also not working. Not good at night. Other than that was a really enjoyable stay.

  • "A lovely bright apartment, with plenty of room for a family of four."

On arrival there was a welcome pack of refreshments, which was very much appreciated after a long journey. The apartment was well equipped and the washing machine/dryer was a great help when you have young children. The holiday park was lovely and clean, and was great having a pass for the pool. The beach is a short walk away and we had lovely walk around the lakes and fields one evening. My only issue was the fridge wasn’t clean, had bits of food left in it and the plates and utensils weren’t clean, but that’s down to the previous tenants and the cleaning crew not checking. We definitely would stay again at The Lighthouse Apartment, it’s a great place in a wonderful location.

  • "A lovely apartment, spacious and well presented with all that we could have asked for."

The beds were comfy, the water was hot and the showers were consistent. The comfort items were an unexpected bonus (refreshments, hand and dish wash, laundry tablets) and made our first couple of days much easier. The holiday park is gorgeous too, and I would be more than happy to recommend and return.

  • "The whole apartment had a sweaty smell."

A large bed in a small bedroom so not much space. The window would not open so no fresh air and a summer quilt needed as far too hot with the one available. Cupboards really high in kitchen to lift down saucepans and glass casseroles we had to stand on a dining chair to get them. One cupboard front was missing and there was no storage for our food and only one shelf in the fridge.A draining mat would be useful under the plate rack to save water going everywhere. One light under kitchen unit not working. The apartment door lock was a bit fiddley to get it to lock. On a plus side fabulous hot water and showers lovely towels. Great to have a pool pass but ladies changing room has broken lockers and bins full of used nappies added to the "aroma" which I did complain about at pool reception. Very well placed for the amenities, a lovely area and lots of walks. We were lucky with the weather and the folding chairs were a bonus thank you.

Had everything we needed in kitchen. We appreciated the welcome pack of tea, coffee, biscuits etc, and washing up equipment. TV in bedroom didn't work, think it might be the remote requiring new batteries. We have recommended the apartment to friends. Had a lovely stay and our dog loved the beach meeting up with other dogs to play with. Thank you Neil

  • "Arriving in the dark meant that the property was a little hard to find."

Directions were given prior to arrival, which were greatly received, but signposting was a little hard to see on the park. The property is known by the door number rather than it's name. Despite this we found the property and gained easy access. The property was warm, spacious and comfy. It had all that we required. The welcome pack was lovely and the kids were overly excited to find that this also contained squash sachets along with biscuits. The property is close enough to facilities and a lovely walk to the park and beach. Thank you for a lovely stay

  • "We had a wonderful stay at The Lighthouse apartment."

The apartment was spotlessly clean, and had everything you would need for a pleasant stay, there was even a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk, sugar, and biscuits which was very welcome after our 5 hour trip down. There was also a pack with dishwasher tabs, black bin bags, pot scrubbers etc. The apartment was very cozy and warm so we didn't have to turn up or adjust the heating. We never cooked a meal as we used the Pub nearby for meals at night, so cant comment on the cooker etc but they are spotless and like new. There was plenty of parking at the apartment, and it was so quiet at night, it was just perfect for us to return to having spent the day out at Bempton Cliffs with the cameras watching the wildlife. I would highly recommend the Lighthouse Apartment to others.

The flat was clean and smelt nice. We did find the flat too warm especially at night and had to open a window as no way to turn heating down. Not easy to find as street signs are confusing but a near by builder came to our aid. We have stayed here before and would recommend to our friends.

  • "Since I stayed in the property in June,it has changed ownership."

The present owners have added small touches that have improved it and it now has wi-fi.I was very disappointed this time unfortunately with the cleanliness.I arrived at 3pm,as stated on paperwork, put in passcode on keysafe and got the keys,on entering the property it was very obvious it hadn't been cleaned, dirty laundry on floors, smelt sweaty, and generally needed a good clean. I had dragged my heavy bags up the stairs,i had toleave them there.I called'Sparkles and Shine' as advised for any problems, I was perfectly pleasant and was told, she was in the laundry and cleaners where on site somewhere! I waited till 16.45 and rang again, she said I was on the list and they would get to me! They arrived at 16.55, said they were very busy and still had 4 properties to do after mine,at 17.20 they left. In these covid times is this sufficient time to thoroughly clean and change all bedding? It was all really disappointing, the sweaty duvet had been just been put back inside a clean cover, the kettle was red hot so I guess the time had included a tea break.I wasn't at all happy with it after that and so very tired after a long journey.

We are sorry to hear you had problems with the cleanliness on arrival. I contacted the cleaning company who have checked the GPS tracking on their vehicle. They have stated that the cleaners left at 16:55. Due to a communication breakdown, the cleaning company had not been informed that the check-in times had gone back to 3pm rather than 5pm due to Covid. They have also confirmed that all soft furnishings and duvets are sprayed with Veridical Disinfectant and the kettle was boiled to mop the floor which is normal practice. The property was vacated by 10am with all bed sheets removed prior to check out so I can't imagine the duvet would have been sweaty by the time you arrived at 3PM. As new owners of this property all duvets have now been replaced. We can only apologise that the apartment wasn't to standard when you arrived and thank you again for your comments. Property Owner

  • "We stayed in The Bay with our friends, another family of 4 who stayed at a house just around the corner from us."

The entry of the apartment is clean throughout into the flat. We didn't read the instruction carefully prior to the arrival and spent some time finding the place - it's Perran Court but the entry to the flat is at the back from the place. The manager at the pub was really helpful and called the on-site security for us who was also friendly. The property info online said no wifi but in the flat, there was a mobile wifi with instructions enclosed in the apartment's folder but we were unable to access in the end. It would be great if this facility was available although not big issue. We used the kitchen couple times during the stay and it was great. Washing machine was available but we had trouble using it, again it wasn't an issue either as we had brought plenty of clothes to wear anyway. There was a Welcome box with complimentary stuff with some dishwasher tablets which was nice, although there isn't a dishwasher...lol. We and our friends thought it was hilarious. ;-) Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the site/apartment is great and easily accessible. On-site swimming pool is just around the corner and some activities available to book.

Thank you for your feedback. As you correctly state the property isn't advertised as having WiFi however we have been trailing mobile broadband until we can get broadband installed. We are very sorry to hear you had problems accessing it but glad you enjoyed your stay. We will review the instructions for the washing machine. We are going to add a more detailed map/instructions as we know the property is a little difficult to find. Property Owner

Thank you for your feedback and sorry the apartment failed to meet your expectations. We were not aware the oven was that bad however we have since had it fully cleaned and have purchased new oven trays. We appreciate the comment about the WiFi however the property is clearly advertised as NOT having WiFi.
