  • "A beautiful cottage in a beautiful setting!"

We had a wonderful time at the Stable Cottage. The property was clean, well furnished and came with great outdoor space at the back. Plenty of counter space in the kitchen. A dish drying rack would have been handy as we tend to cook all of our meals. The location itself is perfect and we will definitely be returning for more Yorkshire trail walks

My boys loved it so much they said they’d like to go back. Loved the way each property has its own outdoor space at the back. We found the beds super comfortable.

  • "The Stable is a lovely barn conversion which is well equipped and extremely comfortable."

The property is lovely and warm which was a godsend as there was very cold easterly wind during our stay. The property is situated in a lovely country side setting and is ideally suited if travelling to either Whitby and Scarborough. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful and thoughtfully had milk coffee, tea and biscuits in the property when we arrived. We highly recommend this property.

Close to the coast - within walking distance - and very close to the Cinder Track. The Sky box needs to be updated as there was a message superimposed on the BBC 1 channel obscuring the picture (the owner was aware). A good comfortable cottage. Proudfoots supermarket nearby (10 mins drive) is excellent.

Thankyou for your feedback the property now has a brand new tv and freeview box so bbc1 is no longer an issue kind regards Ben and Wendy Property Owner

  • "This was our second stay at Stable Cottage."

It had everything we needed, and was clean and welcoming, being ideally situated for visiting the East Coast and Yorkshire Moors. However, since our last stay Ben and Wendy have installed frosted windows at the front of the property, which detracted from the feeling that you were staying on a farm, being unable to see any of the farm activities. I would though, on the whole highly recommend Stable Cottage.

The cottage was comfortable and was equipped with what we needed for the week. The location is beautiful and the owners were approachable and friendly whilst not intrusive. We didn’t have any issues at all but had we needed anything we wouldn’t have hesitated to ask. The location was ideal for visits to Scarborough; the North York Moors Railway; Thornton-le-Dale and Dalby Forest; Playdale Farm and the coast with lovely walks. There are pubs close by, we especially liked Bryherstones Inn which was also mentioned in the visitor book in the cottage. We’ve had a wonderful week and can’t wait to return.

  • "We enjoyed our stay in this clean and comfortable cottage."

I thought it was well laid out making good use of the space available. Many original features of the barn had been maintained and the owners have got just the right balance of modern and rustic. The cottage is perfectly situated for Whitby, Scarborough or the North York Moors. It was very quiet at night and we slept very well. The only noise issue during the day are the dogs who are kept kennelled opposite the cottage as they do bark a lot and disturb the peace and quiet during the day. Other than that we had no issues. The cottage had everything we needed for a weeks stay. The only things we had to buy were kitchen roll and extra toilet rolls, there is a good local supermarket just 10 minute drive away so this wasn’t a problem. WiFi is provided but not secure and not always reliable with the signal being unavailable for short periods most days we were there. You can pick up 4G in the cottage. Overall we had a great week and I’d definitely recommend this cottage to others for a relaxing week in a lovely part of the country.

It has everything you need and more. Outside to the rear is a fairly private garden and lovely views over the fields. The horses, dogs, cats, goat, and sheep were great to watch. Car Parking is available to the front of the property. We had neighbours to both sides, but due to the thick stone walls, and floorplan, never heard them at all. It was very peaceful and out the way enough to be quiet but close enough to easily visit all resorts from Whitby to Bridlington, and very close to the Cinder Path route, and Cleveland Way. Ben and Wendy were the perfect welcoming hosts, usually working around the farm, and easily available if needed, but never intrusive. Stable Cottage is highly recommended, and we will 100% go back there.
