  • "Honestly one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at."

Everything was clean and well maintained. It was modern and done to a very good standard. The cottage had everything you could ever need! It was a great location with a pub right next door! A gateway to the Yorkshire dales such as Skipton, Grassington, Settle, Malham and many more! Josh the owner was a delight to communicate with, he made sure everything was just perfect. It’s next to a train line but honestly it does not disturb you in anyway. I recommend staying here, you will not be disappointed! We will return in the future. Thank you Josh for providing the basis of a thoroughly enjoyable week!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

It was clean and well kept. We disturbed Josh not knowing he was abroad on his holiday with a small issue with the hob but he sorted it over the phone(it was our issue not the hob itself) sorry Josh. The only thing that we were a bit disappointed about were the stools in the kitchen could have done with having backs so we could relax after eating we found ourselves slipping off. Also the settee was a bit low but that is our personel taste We would definitely recommend it to a friend and we would definitely use again if we are in that area.

  • "Beautiful cottage."

Very friendly and helpful owner. The welcome pack was lovely (scones with jam, cookies & prosecco). The location of the cottage was excellent. We stayed here as we were going canal boating in skipton, the cottage is right next to the train line with a direct 5 minute train to Skipton. Excellent location. Loved the decor of the cottage and the open fire place was amazing. Our puppy loved the cottage and felt very welcome here. The cottage is 3 doors down from the Railway Inn pub which we have visited a couple of times and did so again. I would love to return to this cottage.

Only downside no ironing facilities and pillows too soft.

Thank you for the 5 stars. We will get some firmer pillows and ironing options available off the back of your suggestions. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Cononley Cottage."

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Thanks to Josh for a lovely welcome basket, it was very much appreciated. The vicinity to the railway station was brilliant, we used the train almost every day. The only downside to our holiday was the difficulty to finding a parking space. As a wheelchair user this did leave us with a bit of a headache, as my husband couldn’t push me and pull the wheelchair, so had to make quite a few trips back and forth. The narrow path to the property also meant I had to get out of the chair to walk which wasn’t easy. I think these issues should be noted in the listing, just saying may cause a problem for people with mobility issues. We would return to the cottage once the new hip solves the issues for me, as the cottage itself was delightful as mentioned.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience at Cononley Cottage. I'm delighted to hear that you found the cottage clean, comfortable, and enjoyed the welcome basket. It’s also great to know that the proximity to the railway station added convenience to your stay. I sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding the parking and the narrow path to the property. I understand how these challenges impacted your holiday, particularly with mobility concerns. Please rest assured that I've already been in touch with Sykes to update the listing to ensure that future guests are fully aware of these details before they book. Your understanding is greatly appreciated, and I’m glad to hear that you would consider returning in the future. Wishing you all the best with your recovery, and I hope to welcome you back to Cononley Cottage. Josh Property Owner

  • "We had a brilliant time at the cottage."

The place was beautifully decorated and had everything you could possibly need. The village location was great and everyone we bumped into was friendly and welcoming. The pub is really handy for a nice drink in the sun or for food. There is a beautiful park across the road that is very well kept. Dogs are not allowed in the park or surrounding area. There is a quirky pathway to the house that wouldn't be suitable for those with limited mobility. We were able to park with no issues. The train station is very close and trains can be heard but not in a way that bothered us or disturbed our stay in any way. Really handy for days out without needing to drive. We would absolutely recommend staying in Cononley Cottage.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the décor and found everything you needed during your stay. It's great that you appreciated the village location and found the local pub and park to be enjoyable. We appreciate your understanding regarding the pathway to the house and the train station's proximity. It's helpful for future guests to know these details. Some fabulous walks, amazing countryside and breath taking views. Ample sized cottage for 4 adults (and a dog). Love the log burner and the welcome pack was a lovely touch - thank you!

  • "Cononley cottage was perfect!"

Very cosy, fully equipped and a good location. The finishing touches and welcome package were a lovely bonus. Previous guests had made suggestions (like hooks on the front door) and these had all been actioned within days which shows the attentiveness of the host. The railway pub a few doors down was perfect to watch the rugby (small quiet pub though), for a quick snack and very dog friendly and for a really lovely meal out where dogs are welcome is the The Bull at Broughton. Apart from the weather we had a wonderful weekend away. I would highly recommend this little get away.

The attractive village of Cononley lies in Airedale, four miles south of Skipton. There are two pubs and a mainline railway station with links to Leeds, Skipton and the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway line. Nearby Skipton, known as "The Gateway to the Dales", has an ancient castle, a beautiful old parish church and a colourful market occupying the cobbled setts each side of the high street. Enjoy a canal trip on a traditional barge or visit Embsay Steam Railway or the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway.
