  • "Lovely cottage."

We had a lovely time away. Lots of space to chill in the evenings. One suggestion- Could do with more shelves in the oven as there was only the grill pan.

  • "Well situated in a rural location and reasonably well appointed, but a deep clean is needed as we had to wipe things down upon our arrival."

Maybe because the whole site is up for sale standards may have slipped but after reading through the visitors book this seems to be an historical issue. Probably in need of an internal refurbishment to realise it's full potential, which, if this were to happen, I would return again, as it was a very relaxing location.

  • "These cottages are converted barns, rustic countryside charm, they are self catering, so you do need to factor in what supplies you need, so I’m not bothered if the toilet paper is cheep, I’m glad it’s there, as easily forgotten."

The cottage we stayed in for 3 weeks was cosy, I would have liked a door curtain just for extra coziness on cold nights. The living areas are set out well, the furniture is worn, but functional, and in keeping with the accommodation. Comfortable beds are very most important to me, we had a problem with the main bed mattress springs, I spoke with Tim, and he changed it that day. It wasn’t perfect, but it was much better. So I’d say personally, check bed comfort for guests. We cooked meals, did laundry etc and it was really nice to have a change of scenery and a much needed break. And I would book again.

  • "Shortage of basic necessities."

1 small cheap loo roll meant we had to purchase more on specific journey to the shop. A small drop of washing up liquid and a tired old sponge for washing pots was also annoying. It all stunk of penny pinching. Towels were very old and all extremely rough. Flooring was like walking on a boat. Sofa should have been renewed 5 years ago. Wrongly expected a smart TV. Overall, I would not return or recommend this property.

On one night a light fitting fell out of the ceiling. Two of the radiators didn't seem to work. The property and linen were clean.

  • "The property was great, nice and spacious."

Quiet and well looked after. The downside was we picked it as it was described as near beach but the beach that is walkable to is not accessible due to landslides caused by erosion which have taken out paths and local roads. Therefore the nearest accessible beach is a drive away in Withernsea. Perhaps an agreement could be struck with the nearby caravan park to allow access to the beach through there.

Had most of what we needed and comfortable. Windows are draughty though, and take your ear plugs! Other than that we had a lovely stay with a sea view in the distance.

A nice little complex of small Barn conversations with individual parking and small front lawns for setting out in . Nearest town about a 15 minute drive away as is the nearest truly accessible Beach . Have stayed two times now in different barns and not disappointed ,remember this is a working farm area.

In a lovely setting looking out towards the sea on a quiet and well cared for complex. Had a couple of rainy days and there is no where (apart from the bedrooms) to hang up wet clothing. Overall we enjoyed our stay and generally happy.

  • "Very lovely cottage, basic but comfortable."

Nice and clean although there were a lot of spiders on all the ceilings and in every corner which I understand can’t be helped as you are in the country but it would’ve been nice if these were removed prior to arrival. Very quiet and remote village, which we didn’t mind as it was nice to relax after a busy day in the main towns and beaches with the children. The views in tunstall were amazing and the morning and evening walks were lovely although it would’ve been nice to actually get down onto the beach as we couldn’t find any access to it. Overall the stay was good and I would highly recommend it for others.

  • "Meadow view is basic modern 2 bedroom barn conversion , with more than enough space for a couple or small family and reasonably well equiped."

The location is peaceful but with frequent farm traffic - and the tiny hamlet of Tunstall has no amenities - so you'll need to go to the next village of Roos to find a village shop or pub - about 2 miles away. I think any prospective visitors should also be made aware of the significant coastal erosion the immediate area has suffered in recent years - so although it's situated very close to the sea - access to the beach is very limited and we only found one route via a steep rough cliffside path at the end of the footpath which leads on from Rectory Lane. However it's a lovely long empty beach so it's well worth the effort once you do finally find it. The nearby seaside town of Withernsea and Hornsea are worth a visit - and inland - Beverley is a very pleasant market town.

We like to cater for ourselves and as such a decent non stick range of cook ware would be good together with a knife sharpener and grater. Also when practical, outside dining facility for better weather. Oh and Wi-fi which was in the process being sorted by out by Tim as we left for home. These are minor grizzles and personal to us.
