Friendly welcome from the owners. Lovely cottage, everything we needed for our stay. Home made cake for us and treats for the dogs were a nice touch. Large secure garden for the dogs. Lovely walks from the doorstep. Overall a great weekend and would definitely return.

  • "The property was very nice and comfortable to a point our only complaint was that the easy chairs and settee where toolow and difficult to get out ,maybe its just that we are old and have creaky joints."

You may have been more comfortable in out accessible cottage, as we did note some mobility issues in your party. The furniture is standard height and has never been a problem, but may be different from what you are used to at home. Property Owner

It is a very peaceful place with a lovely enclosed garden for our dog to roam around in with no escape ! . Milk and cake on arrival was much appreciated , and the beds are very comfy. The cottage is well placed to visit surrounding areas . We would definitely try and stay again if in that part of the country. 10 out of 10 Patrick and Tracey .

  • "A larger, more visible sign outside would be useful as it was a bit hard to find it the dark."

Very well equipped and the hospitality very welcoming. We loved the fruitcake, dog friendliness, little dishwasher and recycling options. Very quiet location and comfy bed. The only thing was that the shower head would not stay up whilst showering and it ultimately sprang apart in the middle of the night (we and dog were indeed very alarmed by the noise!).

Thanks for your feedback. I'm so sorry you had trouble finding us - it's really very straight forward and nobody has previously had a problem. I'll certainly double check the directions now that you've pointed this out. However, we don't want to litter our beautiful surroundings with big neon signs. And if only you had told us about the shower before you left - inevitably some things will break but we keep spares for every eventuality and could have replaced the errant shower slider bracket straight away. All fixed now. Do come and see us again now you know where we are. Property Owner

Private garden with patio and BBQ. Owners very helpful and friendly. Excellent that dogs are allowed. Plenty of walks from the door. Great location quiet and peaceful but with easy access to moors, woodland walks, towns, historic properties and the beautiful coast. Our second visit, will return and highly recommend.

Cottage was excellently equipt to a very high standard the garden was lovely and well secured if you have small dogs. Under floor heating kept the cottage at a good temperature but the wood burner was lovely in the evenings. The cottage is a good base for visiting North Yorkshire as Whitby, Scarbough, Bridlington and the North Yorkshire Moors Visitors Centre all within 30 miles. The North Yorkshire Railway at Pickering to Whitby is a must stopping at Goathland (Heartbeat) country. Overall we had a fantastic holiday and we can’t fault the cottage or the location in the slightest. Highly recommended.

It makes it very quiet. Exactly what we want. The small town is only a five to 10 min drive and has three pubs, and a few takeaways depending on what you want and a small co-op. The nearest towns (Pickering or Hemsley) are lovely to have a look round and Thirsk has everything you could want. We have come here two years in a row now and it recharges our batteries! We look forward to going again in the future.

However one small snag was not being allowed to leave our dogs to go out for a meal or to the pub in the evening. Made it very limiting. But the cottage and its location were excellent.

Thank you for your comments. We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay and found the property excellent. In relation to being able to leave dogs unattended, as per our terms and conditions this is not possible. The property is very dog friendly and the owner provides information in the property on dog friendly eateries nearby. Property Owner
