We were there for two weeks and it is one of the best we have ever stayed in, and there have been a lot. Excellent kitchen for cooking and eating in, comfortable sitting room with pleasant conservatory overlooking the garden, and very comfy beds. Hosts were so helpful and we were greeted by a lovely selection of local food and drinks. Everything for the dog too. Fully recommended.

Well situated within reach of the delightful village of Haworth, this wonderful location is brimming with a traditional charm throughout, from its cobbled streets, antique stores, traditional sweet shops and pubs, it's a beautiful place to explore and the best place to absorb that authentic Yorkshire culture. Haworth is also very rich in history, we have the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway which reopened in 1968 and runs from Keighley to Oxenhope through the beautiful Brontë country running heritage steam and diesel trains. The five-mile journey is a great experience to enjoy the beautiful countryside and is a true testament to our industrial heritage. The Railway hosts a number of events throughout the year including a Steam Gala, music festivals and beer festivals. If you are familiar with the Brontë family, we would defiantly recommend a visit to the Brontë Parsonage Museum, A historical museum which is the home of the Bronte family, here they have original exhibits of the sisters with detailed descriptions and preserved artefacts. If you would like to venture further into the history of the Bronte sisters, Haworth Parish Church is worth a visit, entering this lovely church is like stepping back in time and a great piece of architecture to behold. You will be spoilt for choice when it's time to eat; Cobbles & Clay is perfect for a light bite, while a little further away you can find an inviting bistro, Pavé, for a meal before discovering the local microbrewery, Haworth Steam Brewing Co.

About the location

HAWORTH

Skipton 13 miles; Hebden Bridge 8 miles.

The small village of Haworth was home to the famous Bronte sisters, who were inspired by the surrounding moorland to pen their novels, which have become classics of English Literature. Haworth is a village that time almost forgot, with its myriad of curiosity and antique shops, alleyways and cobbled streets creating a wonderful period atmosphere, all set against a framing backdrop of countryside famously described in the novel Wuthering Heights as wild, rugged and barren. Nearby, the famous Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, an authentic steam railway brought to prominence in the film The Railway Children, provides a lovely day out with a regular service to the old village of Oxenhope. The area abounds with popular places to visit, including the Bronte Parsonage Museum, East Riddlesden Hall, and the National Railway Museum in York. The market town of Skipton, often fondly regarded as the Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, is just a short drive away, and also within reach are elegant Harrogate and vibrant Leeds and Manchester.
