  • "Fabulous place on this beautiful coast."

    Ideal for trip to Whitby and the beaches. We loved Saltburn. Clean and comfortable. Good parking with small park opposite making it dog friendly. Only problem was bedroom TVs didnt work and teenage boys would have been happier but had their phones so settled with them. We would love to go back as there is too much to do in 4 days. Thank you.

  • "We had a fab time the house was clean, spacious and comfortable."

    There was toys for the children to play with as well as all the amenities you would need Ie dishwasher, coffee machine, air fryer etc Definitely would stay again.

  • "Firstly, the positives."

    Beautiful big house with plenty of space for our family of 11. Lots of toys for the children, our grandchildren especially liked the corner with a desk chair and lots of colouring pencils. On the surface looks really clean but one of the balls the children were playing with rolled under the sofa and it was full of dirt and dust. It is advertised as having a lively high street with lots of eateries but there are takeaways not a lot of places to sit down and eat which is what we wanted as it was my husbands 60th. There was no welcome pack which we have had in other properties. This would be handy as you are going somewhere you are not familiar with. The bins outside were overflowing. The back yard is Tiny and the front was full of weeds.

  • "House was listed as having ‘off road parking’ which was important to us and sadly it did not also listed as have a garden/patio courtyard, it did not it was just somewhere to put the bins!"

    Sykes were awful to deal with, phoned at point of arrival to ask where the parking is. We were not happy on learning there was no off street parking and we were basically told like it or lump it no refunds no part refunds given. As it was now getting on and with 3 children we had no other option and once in the property we quickly realised there was no rear courtyard/patio either! Sykes are very misleading with the advertising of this house and it’s the first time that we’ve used the company and it will certainly be our last.

  • "I only have 2 small complaints, firstly there was no welcome pack so we had no instructions about bedding at the end of our stay and secondly as mentioned by other feedback there was no lock on the main bathroom door."

    However the house was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. We had young people (18 to 30) with us who loved the compendium of games which got used a lot. The town is undergoing a massive regeneration but when finished will be amazing. I would certainly recommend 12 Westfield Terrace as a holiday rental, I just wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back.

    Thanks so much for your feedback. I am so sorry that you didn’t get the welcome pack. We email it to guests and it must have not come through, or gone to junk mail. I will look at how to stop this in the future though so thank you so much for letting me know and I can only apologise. There is a lock on the bathrooms and the toilet doors. It’s not in the handle but a separate lock just above, like bolt. We were advised to use these, rather than ones in the handle as they are less likely to break or get stuck. We really didn’t like the idea that the lock malfunctioned and people (especially children) felt like they couldn’t get out. With these bolt like locks they can be used or not depending on the preference of the person using the bathroom. We are so glad you enjoyed all the other aspects of the stay and very much look forward to hosting your holiday again. Property Owner

LOFTUS

Saltburn-by-the-Sea 4 miles; Hinderwell 6 miles; Whitby 14 miles.

The village of Loftus lies 14 miles north of Whitby on the east coast of Yorkshire. Originally an old alum mining village, it comprises terraced houses, old stone cottages and a few grand stone dwellings. The long and lively main street hosts a variety of shops, eateries, pubs, banks and an impressive town hall. Lying behind the main street is a leisure centre with an excellent swimming pool. Loftus is well placed for discovering the small coastal villages of Runswick Bay and Staithes, the latter being a popular choice for artists. Four miles to the north is the elegant spa town of Saltburn with its golf club and long pier stretching over the wide sands.
