  • "Wonderful cottage, spotlessly clean and very comfortable."

Well equipped and perfectly placed for accessing the delights of the Yorkshire coast and moors.

  • "A lovely location on a tranquil farm."

Clean and comfortable cottage close to lots of places to visit. Pub within walking distance serves lovely fresh home cooked food.

  • "A small, well-equipped cottage that has everything needed for a comfortable stay."

It is also in a good location being close to Whitby, supermarkets, various walking trails including the Cleveland Way. During our stay, the lane where the cottage is located flooded in both directions for a short time after a period of heavy rain which made lane impassable for a normal saloon car. Building works directly behind Milton Cottage were in full swing during our stay, starting at 8 a.m. Not a peaceful location when masonry saws are being used and made it feel as if we were holidaying on a building site, instead of the peaceful holiday it should have been. Noise from building work is unavoidable at times, but as paying guests we were not advised of these works either during or before our stay which we thought was very inconsiderate of the owner/s.

  • "I had a very nice stay the property was very well kept and very cosy, it was easy accessible and very comfortable and the gift of chocolates and wine was a very nice gesture."

The view was brilliant it was nice to see the sheep and cows (As I live in a city I don't see much live stock). If you like walking it is a great place to stay, I walked to the whalebone one day then the following day I walked to the abbey the views were great the walk was very refreshing. It was very enjoyable and relaxing I would definitely recommend this place.

  • "Milton Cottage is a lovely, comfortable cottage in a beautiful part of Whitby (Hawsker)."

The views are lovely and the surrounding countryside is stunning. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and some chocolates, and it's lovely to wake up to the sound of the sheep who live outside the cottage. The cottage is immaculate and comfortable with convenient parking. I can't recommend Milton Cottage highly enough; we want to return.

  • "We had a wonderful fortnight in Milton Cottage which is set on a farm in countryside between Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby."

It was very peaceful, comfortable and homely. There is everything you need and the owners are very helpful and friendly. They even left us a bottle of wine and a starter pack of coffee, tea, milk and sugar. We hope to return next year.

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at Milton Cottage."

The location between Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay is ideal for visiting anywhere along the coast, it really is merely minutes either direction. Our daughter (and ourselves) liked to watch the sheep right outside the front door and the location is very peaceful considering it's within a working farm. We did get to watch a couple of the tractors pottering about and working in the fields. I think the balance between a modern space and a 'cottage' works well. We had everything we needed on arriving and there was plenty close by with regards to shops. We appreciated the flowers, biscuits, wine and brew making materials too! It was nice to walk in the door to that after 2 and a half hours drive. Otherwise, the bed was comfy, the WiFi was good, and the view was great. Also out daughter was very pleased with 'Beaky' on the window ledge by the stairs! (The tall bird ornament) she 'fed' him every day and wasn't pleased to leave him behind when we went. :-D

Very nice new bathroom with shower - updated from the photo we saw when booking. Friendly, helpful owners. Quiet locating but very close to Whitby, supermarket, walks, coast, moors. Lots to do. Great place to saty, thanks.

  • "Lovely cosy cottage in a setting with great views, kitchen space is tight but really clean - the whole cottage was spotless."

Comfy beds for a good nights sleep, adjacent farm activities to entertain the children and a robot lawnmower doing it's thing.

The cottage was equipped really well and it felt a very relaxing holiday. We would visit again as very close to some spectacular scenery and places of interest.

We’ll definitely be looking to stay again. Our 9 month old seemed to love the travel cot and high chair which was provided as well.

  • "Nice cottage."

Good facilities. Lovely views. Light bulbs slightly low energy so a bit dim in living room. The bath could do with tiilng on walls and a glass shower panel so that the shower becomes usable.
