  • "What a lovely holiday cottage - high standard of cleanliness, well equipped, very comfortable bed, fabulous welcome pack for us and the dog, but most importantly for us - Sarita and Dave are so welcoming and friendly, but not at all intrusive."

The farm is such a fab place - feeding the alpacas and pigs is lovely. The most peaceful place we've stayed, listening to the owls at night is just lovely. Thank you so much for providing such a lovely cottage - we'll definitely be back.

  • "A very spacious cottage for 2/3 people in a very quiet area."

The cottage was clean and very well equipped for cooking a meal. A welcome pack on arrival was very much appreciated. We had chickens on the door step waiting for food and the pigs came running across the field to the fence when they heard us go to the car, so fed them an apple a day. Children would love it here, seeing the Alpacas, pigs, and the farm yard chickens. Would highly recommend Ericas eaven.

  • "We spent a magical week at Erica’s ‘raven."

The cottage was very clean and comfortable with everything you might need. It has a real home from home feeling about. The bed was super comfy which makes all the difference after a busy day but it’s being close to the animals that did it for us. Being able to feed them was an amazing feeling. The chickens are so funny and the alpacas are fantastic. Even the sheep like a bit of a scratch! Two new arrivals, Rose and Petal the pigs, took up residence while we were there too. I can’t praise this place highly enough and we’ve already booked to go back!

Thanks for the gifts. It was a lovely quiet location. It's a shame that there is no telephone signal and the WiFi wasn't working. And for us and older people the sofas were a bit too low. ( I'm 6ft 6ins tall). My wife found the flamingo on the bedroom wall a bit scary. Overall we had a lovely time.

  • "A really restful stay - ideally located for lots of local walks, and easy access to local towns/villages."

This area of the moors is much quieter/less touristy than the Eastern side, hence why we came to this area, and the cottage is a great choice from which to explore. Based on a farm, there are lots of animals to say hello to, quite a relaxing thing to do too! The owners have treated a really nice place, with lots of useful items (way more than expected from a self-cat cottage, but really welcome to help create a nice holiday experience). The welcome treats were a lovely touch :)

  • "The property was excellent overall, clean, well furnished and presented and comfortable."

I would have given it 5 had it not been for the wifi. The site has no mobile phone signal so the wifi is the only communications link. The wifi was intermittent during the day, occasionally it worked but mostly it gave an error message, either "Can't obtain an IP address" or "Connected, no Internet". From 10.15pm into the night it worked perfectly. The wifi in the cottage is by Devolo wifi extenders and they flashed a red led fairly often. I am guessing they lost contact with the router. The IP address issue is a setup problem. We do plan to go back.

Erica’s ‘eaven was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed for self catering, it was warm, there was ample hot water, a comfortable bed and the owners who were friendly and helpful, were excellent hosts. Access to a freezer was useful so we didn’t need to spend valuable holiday time shopping. The cottage is in a pretty spot, down a farm lane with lovely views. There are numerous walks from the door, in woodland, beside the river, over moorland and down country lanes. It was very easy to relax, we felt at home instantly and would love to return. We enjoyed feeding the animals and hens, and walking with the alpacas too. Altogether a very successful holiday.

The situation of the cottage couldn't be better for peace and quiet, with plenty of wildlife to observe. For us the only down side as two 70 year olds was the lack of comfy chairs. The sofas provided were too low and much to soft, people like ourselves with back problems will find rising very difficult.
