  • "Lovely suroundings and lodge, v peaceful."

The mattress was not so good, too thin, lumpy, and cold. Maybe a blind at the front door, or a fence between lodges.

  • "Lodge was nice however was very disappointed with cleanliness of the lodge, dog hear everywhere, clearly not cleaned before our stay."

Probably the worse thing when I've got a severe dog allergy. Didn't sleep the friday night as it set my asthma off. They cleaned it Saturday after requesting in the morning and after that it was fine. However we still also cleaned it Saturday morning. Don't go on holidya to do cleaning. General maintenance of the park was lacking aswell. Spoke to others on site who said they were disappointed with maintenance of park aswell.

Thank you for your feedback , our team aim to maintain a high standard as the many kind reviews confirm we dont have any lodges which dont accommodate dogs but sorry we missed some under the bed you moved to allow you to lay the mattress in the lounge area, our grounds are for the wildlife & guests and we operate , a minimal “Mow in May “ and leave the grass a little wild in parts for the beautiful wild flowers and mainly to provide cover for the baby peacocks & ducklings etc did you catch a glimpse of any wandering around. We have had a fair few rainy days here but hopefully the weather will be kinder to us all over the summer months ahead. Property Owner

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Good walks for our dog, and us, beautiful setting and great enjoyment of the birds that regularly visited the site, peacocks and ducks. There is a good commercial site very close by, with Asda, Aldi, Domino's, McD's, Greggs. We will definitely stay here again.

Lavender Lodge was a one bedroom Lodge but it was spacious enough for two people and a dog as always the accommodation was clean and well maintained, the weather was good for the time of year and we had many days out, the Lodges are in a peaceful setting and not far from Saltburn a few minutes by car and Aldi and Asda are only a few minutes away by car and there is a nic pub there Longacre which is good value for food and drinks and friendly staff, we have stay at Rushpool Holiday Homes several times and find it one of Saltburns hidden secrets and would recommend the Lodges for value for money and gauranted a good holiday

  • "The lodge was lovely and clean throughout!"

The only small thing was that the pole securing one of the shower panels had become detached. It made no difference to the quality of our stay or of the quality of the shower. All-in-all if that is the only thing 'wrong' with a lodge, then it's a great place to stay

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Lavender Lodge and would return."

There were however several things that we believe would enhance the experience. 1. There is a extremely smart, modern, hob/oven in the kitchen area. There was also comprehensive instructions on how to use the oven. Regrettably the instructions were for a different oven! Had to guess what setting to put it on, regrettably guessed wrong. Dinner spoilt. 2. There were 5 wine glasses provided. Every one of them was a different shape and size. A small point but annoying. 3. There were no extra blankets provided and 2 nights were particularly cold.

Thank you for your feedback We checked the Welcome pack and found that the instruction booklet matched exactly with the oven installed so unsure of what you mean? Sometimes guests attending Functions at the neighbouring Hotel bring glasses back from the bar - we will double check them and take them back to them. The Lodges are fully insulated so we have never offered nor been asked for blankets as we only open during the warmer months. We do supply 13.5 tog duvets and a throw and let you control the Lodge heating temperature up to a level that is comfortable for you - no restrictions. Any issues you had during your stay could have been dealt with quickly by ringing us on the number provided in the Welcome pack - we hope it did not spoil your stay Property Owner

  • "We stayed at Lavender Lodge and arrived to find a welcome basket with an assortment of tea, biscuits and cherry wine."

The facilities were first rate and included a freezer, washer/dryer, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, tea towels, cleaning products and even an iron and ironing board. All the rooms were a good size and the cleanliness was excellent as was the level of maintenance, the decorating was to a high standard as was the choice of furnishings. The outdoor space was big enough to stretch out on and it was fully enclosed which was great for keeping the dog from wandering off, although he spent a good deal of time sitting stock still and eyeing up the peacocks that strutted around the grounds. With regards to the location, you are surrounded by trees with the gothic spires of the Rushpool Hotel visible through the foliage. There is a lovely wooded walk which makes for a pleasant first thing and last thing dog walk. Just down the road from the main entrance (turn right and it's just before the island) there is a public footpath that will take you down to Skelton Beck and from there you have a massive choice of paths to take you into Saltburn-by-the-Sea and/or its gardens. In the coffee table drawer you'll find a good variety of pamphlets showing you what activities, attractions etc. are available to you locally or a bit further afield. As far as any cons to this holiday lodge are concerned... the Rushpool Hotel specialises in hosting weddings/receptions and so you can expect some noise from parties, but it was never excessive and it never went on too late. And that's it really apart from wanting to cook something in the oven and being Aga users we were a bit stumped until we had a look through the Grey Folder of Knowledge and found instructions. We would highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for a well presented, clean and fresh lodge in quiet, wooded surroundings with plenty of things to do in the surrounding area.
