  Lovely owners, fantastic location and a great house. To top it off we were given advice on a local walk and pub. Both amazing although still feeling the walk! We will definitely be back.

  Rodger the host very nice man cottage is located realy well near pubs shops and walks we caught the local bus a few times.stop just up the road to Richmond Leyburn Ripon. Forbidden corner well worth a visit even for adults. hawes is a lovely place to visit we had a fantastic stay thankyou rodger

• "We were disappointed that you had enter a bedroom to use the toilet where other people were sleeping"

  As described on Sykes website, The Gatehouse has 2 ensuite bedrooms, each ensuite has a shower, hand basin & toilet. Considering there were only 2 guests in the party & both bedrooms were used, why were both bathrooms not used? Property Owner

• "The Gatehouse was a great location for our holiday."

  It was especially good for us to be in a small town as we live really rural with no nearby facilities, so we enjoyed two minutes to the shops and ten seconds to the pub. The castle was only a few minutes away too which was great. The house was very comfortable and cosy with most things you are likely to need. The showers were excellent, with easy to control temperature and a good forceful drenching. The rooms were spacious and well presented and the beds were comfortable. The only niggle was the hit and miss internet and dreadful sound quality of the telly. This was a very nice holiday with lots near by. I would return.

  My sister and I loved the Gatehouse....immaculately clean, perfectly furnished, quiet and just a two minute stroll to the centre of the village. Wonderfully warm and cosy with safe parking. Hilary and Roger are the perfect hosts....very highly recommended.

• "We enjoyed the location of the property, it provided easy access to The Dales and various other attractions."

  At first sight the property seemed great but closer inspection revealed it needed a deep clean and some other attention. We left a detailed list of matters we noticed for the owner as he wasn’t present when we left. The owner was very helpful and provided information regarding walks and local facilities - good pubs! He also carried our cases for us which was much appreciated and left us a bottle of wine.

  Thank you for your feedback We do take all customers comments very seriously The comments you made regarding cleanliness are very out of character for the house. We do usually score 100% in this area so this has surprised us. Our cleaners are spot on and make sure that everything is cleaned on changeover ready for the next guests. We did see you at the start of the holiday, several times during your stay and on the morning of your departure and nothing was mentioned to us when we checked if everything was ok. We are on hand to help with any issues during the stay and noticing is too much trouble to ensure our guests enjoy their holidays Thank you for saying that you would return to the cottage in the future. We are glad that you liked the local area and the pub. We do live i a lovely part of the world Property Owner

  Hosts welcoming and ensured our stay was comfortable. Middleham has a castle and 4 pubs - all offering food and drink, also boasting a village shop which was handy. Would definitely return to this lovely part of Middleham.

  The house was well equipped and situated in a lovely village with good amenities. Middleton is easy to get to and was well situated to have easy access to go out and about exploring the area. We would certainly go back to The Grove.

• "A beautiful cottage in our favourite location."

  Never knew this little gem was hidden in the market square. The owners are friendly and helpful. Even though the weather was not good, we managed to fit in a long walk each day and enjoy our acommodation each evening. Another plus was seeing Le Toure of Yorkshire on Sunday. We will certainly return to The Coach House later this year! Highly recommended.

  It is really hard to find accommodation to suit two couples, this has two double bedrooms and two en suites, it is very well equipped - everything you want for a long weekend away.
