  • "We enjoyed our stay in Holly Edge, the property is in a very peaceful tucked away location set within a large garden with views over fields with horses & sheep and distant views to the North Yorks Moors, The location provided a great touring base to either the East coast or North Yorks Moors, lots of good places to eat."

We had fun playing table tennis in the garage/games room. The house was spacious & well equipped, nicely decorated & very warm, and we were welcomed with a nice bottle of Prosecco & some biscuits, Thank youj! We would definitely recommend.

No tumble dryer or clothes airer Main bathroom needs mat in shower as very slippy Spare room shower door doesn't close No welcome pack as others mentioned they received. Had to go back out for pint of milk after 5 hour drive Not many instructions, had to find WiFi code on back on router, didn't have any info about emptying bins , Keyboard wouldn't move off the code Games room was a great bonus Lovely seeing the horses Spacious well maintained property with stunning views

Really sorry about milk, this was an oversight . i have put an airer in now but the bath mat was provided. We always see to bins so hence no instructions. It was so beautifully the kids loved the games room but there were a couple of things as always that needed attention No tumble dryer or washing line so able to wash but no way of drying The garden was lovely and secure for dogs but our inquisitive cocker managed to escape onto the next field full of cows the escape route was in the trees at bottom of garden but we could not get through to see where so after day 3 he had to stay on a lead in the garden which was a great shame. In the games room there was a ball missing on the pool table, the darts were useless so if you like darts then take your own and the table tennis net fixings were broken but we managed to sort something out. And you need 2 new snooker cues .I'm sure the owners are not aware of this as I'm sure they would have sorted this out The beautiful bathrooms had a problem whish could easily be rectified the water would not stay in the sins so kept having to top it up constantly so with the price of utilities at the moment I would get thst sorted. But with just those few niggles overall fantastic.

But nothing serious it did not stop us from having a wonderful time, and the bungalow was very comfortable and homely. The only thing was the time to get in and the time you have to leave means you lose one day of your holiday. On arrival the cottage was warm and welcoming and we instantly felt at ease, especially with the bottle of bubbly waiting for us! The cottage is well equipped and the quality of the fixtures and furnishing was excellent. The grounds are extensive and our dog just loved playing ball on the lawns, or saying hello to the horses that occasionally appeared in the field next door. The kitchen had all we needed and it was lovely to sit and eat out on the patio when the weather was nice. We did have a little issue with the shower, but a quick call to the owners and they were there later that evening and sorted it out in no time. They could not have been more pleasant or helpful, thank you to them. If we could make one suggestion to improve the cottage even more, it would be to put some privacy film on the bathroom windows. These are clear glass and it can feel a little "vulnerable" when the blind is not down!, that aside the owners really have a wonderful gem of a cottage that is comfortable, inviting and a wonderful place to spend the week in Yorkshire.

My sister came down from Scotland and our daughter and her partner who live 15 miles away also stayed. The property is absolutely stunning beautiful gardens which in the summer would be fantastic. The bungalow is fantastic very spacious and unbelievably clean probably the cleanest holiday home we have stayed at. Kitchen is massive but just lacking a few essentials ie cheese grater cafetière If you like good coffee and we found the WiFi not very good at all so smart tv not working too well. These are not negatives because the place was fantastic but unless pointed out the owner may not realise. Came back yesterday and missing it already. Hope to go back in the summer with my parents as they would love the garden. Lovely welcome pack of Prosecco biscuits milk flowers and a nice card. Thank you for a perfect stay.

  • "What can I say?"

On arrival my 17 year old told me I had outdone myself on picking Holly Edge. My OH told me it reminded him of his childhood. The other 3 children absolutely loved going to see the horses and watching the rabbits run across the back garden. Holly Edge was perfect for our big family. Enough room for everyone to have peace and quite when needed. Whitby was only a short drive away and Scarborough wasn't too far to get too either. There was so much to do that we could have easily stayed for 2 weeks. Definitely hope to return again. Lovely welcome gift of Prosecco, biscuits, flowers and tea and coffee.

  • "Holly Edge bungalow was a fantastic home for our four generations of family to stay in."

It was very spacious and we never felt as though we were living in each other’s pockets. On arrival the wow factor hit us even though we’ve had seen the photos. The bungalow was very clean with beautiful fittings and a kitchen to die for. A dishwasher which meant I never had to wash up, plus a washer and dryer which was great as I only took home clean washing. The garden was large and with the gates closed ensured the dog was safe plus our grandchild. A thank you to Karen for the thoughtful biscuits, bottle of wine and lovely flowers though we had to leave those behind because of the pollen on them. The location was in a lovely village with beautiful cottages and flowers in abundance in gardens and kerbsides. It was within driving distance of Whitby, Scarborough,Runswick Bay, garden centres and restaurants. Though I was surprised how quickly the restaurants filled up so think about booking as we had a few disappointments. Locally for a flat beach try Sandsend beach as we only drove through it on the last day and wish we had gone there. There are no shops in the village so do go prepared, there is a Sainsbury’s on the road to Whitby with a restaurant The Stables where we had Sunday lunch which has lovely grounds around it. This has been one of our best family holidays and would 100% recommend this bungalow.

  • "We have booked holiday accomodation for a number of years throughout the UK and can say that the accomodation at Holly Edge is the best we have found."

The bungalow was immaculately presented, clean, comfortable with all mod cons. It was furnished to a higher specification than most holiday homes. The welcome pack of wine and flowers was appreciated. The accomodation is situated in a lovely village where, on our walks, we found the locals very friendly and helpful with local knowledge etc. The week booked (7th to 14th of June 2019) was probably the worst weather of the year to date but the accomodation made it tolerable and we enjoyed our stay. We were amazed by the very large garden and the beautiful surroundings of the bungalow. It’s views from the patio and kitchen were stunning. We were greeted with a lovely card and welcome treat from the owner. The property itself was very clean and well presented. We spent most of our time out and about but it was always a pleasure to spend breakfast and evenings at Holly Edge. We even had a visit in the garden from a hedgehog who made its away across the lawn. Our break was just what we needed and thanks to Karen for providing this stunning property for us to spend our holiday in Yorkshire.

Immaculately clean on arrival with extra special touches to help make our week's stay just perfect. Spacious rooms and superb kitchen with everything you would need and more. Huge well kept private and secure garden with unrivalled views across unspoilt Yorkshire countryside, no better place to wake up to. It is set in very large lovely secure, private gardens with a splendid open view. Despite the dreadful gale force winds everyday, we were cosy, warm and comfortable with everything one could possibly need. We arrived to a lovely welcome of Prosecco, fresh flowers and a card wishing us a lovely holiday. Everything about this place is delightful and so well equipped, it’s obvious the owner has given a great deal of thought to the needs of visitors. Luxurious beds and bedding, all a cook could desire from the spacious kitchen, comfortable sofas, plenty of smart TV’s and more. Spotlessly clean, toilet rolls, hand and shower washes in bathrooms, great power showers. Complete peace and quiet, near to coast, great for our collie/lab cross who enjoys the garden. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we could possibly wish for. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery, utensils and pans. The bathrooms are very modern with lovely powerful showers (often lacking in holiday lets) and the beds have the best quality bedding.
