  • "Lovely place."

Large comfortable lounge, separate well equipped kitchen. We booked 2 nights but stayed 3. Swinton hall bird of prey experience is a must. Perfect.

  • "Fairhaven is a lovely lodge, clearly well cared for, with the hard work and pride of the owners being evident as soon as you walk in."

The kitchen is well equipped and fitted with everything you could need for your stay. The living and dining areas are spacious providing comfortable space, perfect for relaxing. The access into the lodge could benefit from some revision. The main entrance, which is just a few steps onto the decking is located at the bottom of the incline of the parking area which can become slippery when wet, and combined with the ground level change of the the parking area can be a challenge if you are not as sure footed. As such, I opted to use the rear entrance. Unfortunately, the bottom and top steps lack sufficient depth for secure foot placement, which could be improved. Given that the lodge is advertised as pet-friendly, I was surprised to discover that dogs are restricted from certain areas of the lodge. This is not clearly advised at the point of booking unlike the other rules which are sufficiently communicated. Those few points of feedback aside, Fairhaven Lodge is a fantastic getaway. If you're seeking peace and relaxation, this is the perfect spot. The park's residents and fellow holidaymakers were warm and friendly, always offering a kind 'hello' when stepping outside the door. Some great places to visit close by and I strongly recommend the Farmers Arms!

Thank you for your feedback. I can certainly look at the steps to make sure they are slip free when wet, you are the first guests to highlight this so it will be a priority. We are 100% pet friendly with 2 spaniels of our own but the dogs not allowed in the bedroom is purely for health and hygiene of other guests. I would like to understand how we were marked lower for cleanliness? I inspect the cleaning team regularly and my wife and I regularly clean The Fairhaven ourselves and after a full career in the military, I pride myself on pristine cleanliness. Thank you again for the feedback and thank you for leaving The Fairhaven in a very good state on departure. Kindest regards, Jamie and Liesa. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely week staying in the lodge."

It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The site was very well-kept - no litter and no dog mess despite several dogs holidaying with their well-behaved owners. The beds were comfy and clean and quite roomy. The fresh flowers on our arrival was a lovely touch. The owner popped in to see us before we left and was a very pleasant guy and was keen to know if everything was to our statisfation. All in all I would recommend this lodge.

  • "We stayed at the fairhaven over Christmas."

We found it to be lovely and clean and very comfortable. The owners, Jamie and Liesa were very helpful and offered good advice on places to eat around Richmond. The weather wasn't too good when we were there, so we spent most of our time relaxing in the lovely lodge. Looking forward to returning when the weather is hopefully better.

Thank you so much for the feedback Donald. You and your wife were perfect guests and I sincerely hope to hear from you again soon. (I’ll try and book the weather next time!!) I wish you health and happiness for the New Year. Property Owner
