• "What a lovely property - a proper home from home."

  Fieldside is in a great location with easy access to the coast, the moors, the Wolds and next to a walking trail. It’s quiet and peaceful with private garden facility to take advantage of. Our host was welcoming and could not have been more helpful. The property is comfortable, clean and has everything you could wish for in your own home. We would certainly recommend this place and will return.

  Well equipped kitchen.(just lacking washing up bowl and dish drainer not everybody uses a dishwasher) Beds very comfy with quality linen and good pillows (the blinds while decorative did nothing to stop the early morning sun waking us far too early adding curtains would be beneficial).Thank you for the Welcome pack appreciated. Property set in a lovely rural area but should be noted that its on an extremely busy and noisy road.

  Very well equipped and comfy beds with enclosed garden for the dog to run around. Lovely hamper and treats for the dog on arrival. Ideally situated for walks along the Yorkshire Wolds and a short car ride into Filey. John was very helpful and on hand if we needed anything. Would highly recommend and will certainly book again.

  The Annex was really cosy and in a good location for travelling to the different beaches in the area. The kitchen had everything you needed if you just wanted to stay in and cook and the owners left us a lovely hamper which had a treat for everyone, even the dog!

  There's a village about a mile away with a few pubs and shops . And plenty of walks to do aswell . There's a large enclosed garden shared with the other cottage on site .There's a main road just outside the property but that didn't bother us at all . And John was a great host and always on hand if if needed

There are handy local facilities, and plenty of places to visit for old and young. We would certainly aim to stop here again on our next trip to the area.

• "The property itself was immaculately clean and done to an exceptional standard and so was the grounds."

  The big issue for us was the noise from the road which was constant also the speed that the vehicles went passed at. The noise could be heard in the cottage and certainly wasn’t relaxing atmosphere outside on the patio. We wouldn’t have booked this cottage if we had know just how busy the road was. I think this should be mentioned and then at least you can make an informed choice.

• "Fieldside is an absolutely gorgeous property in a beautiful location!"

  Me, my mum and my little boy spent a glorious week there and used it as a base to explore nearby Filey, Scarborough and Sewerby in the mornings. In the afternoons we took my toddler for a walk along a little stretch of the adjacent Wolds Way, spotting tractors and pheasants! The cottage is furnished to a very high standard and was spotlessly clean. We can't wait to return!

  Really clean. Had all the utensils/ equipment needed in the kitchen. The owner was very welcoming, even left a lovely hamper including a treat for the dog! Only marked down as we couldn't log into Netflix on the TV, which was a shame. I think a new TV is needed in the living room.

• "We found that the enclosed garden wasn't really all that safe to let our little dog off as the grounds are also shared with the neighbouring cottage and they never closed the gate so it would have been better if the patio area had a fence around it."

  Just a few little minor adjustments would have made a difference eg. Hooks for dressing gown in the bedrooms and maybe a bucket for the fire remains. The kitchen was great but maybe a knife sharpener would help as we struggled with the knifes that are currently used. Games room is listed on the website but not in existence.

  The owners were very helpful and met with us on arrival to show us around The cottage was like a show home, finished to a high standard Despite everything being great the bedrooms were far too warm even when the radiators were turned off. Unfortunately the bedroom doors that led to the exterior didn't have any vents which meant it was only safe to have the doors open when one was in the accommodation. My other request would be a clothes airer as the washer dryer took so long to dry clothes. Nevertheless we had a fantastic time and will no doubt be back especially when we have family in the next village Regards Julie Halifax, West Yorkshire

Brilliant location that is both child/dog safe and friendly. I have stayed at many similar cottages over the years and this is by far the best in every way. Highly recommended.
