ONLY ONE SMALL MOAN, A HAND RAIL GOING UP THE STAIRS WOULD HAVE BEEN A GODSEND FOR ME, I HOPE NOT TOO MANY HANDPRINTS ON THE WALL AND YOUR KNEW ABOUT THE TOASTER

Thank you for you wonderful feedback. We have been trying to get a handrail fitted but so far we have been let down by a number of works people; we will endeavour to get this resolved as soon as possible. Hope we may see you back in the future. Property Owner

The cottage was equipped with everything & more and the welcome items were very useful! We met the owners and they gave us a very friendly welcome. There was no issue from anyone regarding parking outside the cottage and we were always able to park there. It's a big YES from us and we hope to return at some point in the future - many thanks to the owners :-)

Thank you so much for the feedback. So pleased you found Falcus Cottage well equipped & that the dogs and grandchildren could enjoy the secure garden space. Pleased there was no issues with parking although parking is on ‘the street’ there is plenty of room. We look forward to welcoming you back ; hopefully in the near future. Property Owner

  • "Very cosy and comfortable cottage."

Well equipped but larger towels needed please and only 1 bedside cabinet in main bedroom. Great shower downstairs, bath is beautiful but we didnt find very practical, given amount of water needed and time to fill, as well as tricky getting out! Very comfortable beds for great nights sleep and sofas in lounge to relax on in front of tv. Quiet location. Liked having the two sitting areas. Couldn't see compost bin in kitchen mentioned in the folder or doggie items except for 2 blankets for chairs, but not a big issue for us. We had no problem with parking outside. No facilities in the village but 50 minute casual walk into Barnard Castle. An OS map for local footpaths would have been useful. Would definitely return as great base to explore this beautiful part of the world from and return to relax and unwind.

  • "We all 5 adults and two dogs had a wonderful stay at Falcus cottage, everything was well thought of."

A very well equipped kitchen. We had forgotten our dogs bowls and were pleased to find some in the kitchen. The beds and quilts were comfortable and cosy as was the sofas. Loved the underfloor heating in the dining room. Seeing the stars through the skylights was a highlight for us. A perfect place to stay for exploring the North Pennines, Barnard castle is also a lovely town with lots of shops. Always good to find a butchers. Our only niggle was the towels need to be bigger and it was very difficult to park outside, with one rude neighbour telling us not to park outside her house and to park further up. We would definitely stay again

  • "Gorgeous unique cottage in a beautiful, friendly location which is quiet, yet within easy distance of places of interest and amenities."

Parking is on the road… usually in front of the cottage and there is a safe dog friendly garden at the back. Falcus House is very clean, spacious and welcoming with comfy sofas and snuggly cushions, a kitchen which is generously stocked with all you need to rustle up a meal to eat in the dining room, while upstairs we found sumptuous comfortable beds and a huge bathroom. Having a downstairs shower-room is a plus and very handy. In fact this cottage is a real gem which I’m very glad we found .

  • "We had an absolutely wonderful stay."

The information pack we received prior to arriving was brilliant. The cottage itself was gorgeous, had everything you needed and more, plus some surprise goodies on arrival. The owners have thought of everything and the little details and extras made the stay so pleasurable. There is only 1 tiny thing I would suggest: bigger towels. I couldn’t wrap the towel around me, and with a father-in-law in the house it was a bit restrictive and felt I had to dress and undress in the bathroom. However the towels you did have were so soft a fluffy, they felt so luxurious. All 3 bedrooms are spacious and have very comfy beds. The living space downstairs was cosy and comfortable and the garden was lovely. The kitchen was so well equipped and had everything and even more than I have at home! There is a little park just at the end of the road which was a highlight for our daughter as we could easily pop to it in the morning and evening. Overall it was a wonderful stay in a fabulous cottage, the owners have thought of everything and should be really proud. We would highly recommend Falcus cottage.

  • "Thank you so much for the wonderful stay!"

We stayed there to celebrate New Year’s Eve with a group of 5 and 2 dogs and had the most amazing time. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need to make a fantastic meal. The fireplace was adding extra coziness and the hosts were so amazing and welcoming - we even found two doggies Christmas crackers (that we didn’t know even exist:). The location is brilliant, we specifically came there for a hike and if you drive it is an easy access to Lake District and other wonderful destinations for epic walks and adventures. Highly recommend - you would really enjoy it!

Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback. We have tried to think of everything that our guests might need for a comfortable stay. Teasdale is a hidden gem with so much to see and do. Property Owner

  • "Falcus cottage was clean and cosy with everything you could possibly want and need (it even had a teapot!"

). Our party ages ranged from 0 -70 + dog and all were well catered for. Central heating was very efficient, though it was warm weather for October, and the cottage kept the heat in well. I am told, all the beds were comfortable with very good pillows. The property is very well situated for exploring the area, we had great days out at Raby Castle, Low and high force waterfalls, Barnard itself, and good walks from Middleton and Staindrop. I would recommend taking an Ordinance survey map of the area if you are intending to walk as there are so many paths to choose from. Also, for autumn and winter evenings perhaps take some board games and books with you. There are plenty of cafes and eating establishments in the area and can recommend the cafe at the theatre in 'Barney' and the Old Well Inn for Sunday lunch. All in all a good time was had by everyone and who knows, we may yet be back. Thank you.

Sorry for the late response: thank you for your feedback, we are pleased that the cottage met everyone’s requirements. Property Owner
