  • "House really nice and comfortable, garden great for the dogs."

    Would recommend this property

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at High Mill House, it’s perfect for a family holiday."

Plenty of space upstairs and downstairs nice being able to have family meals in the dining room. The location is lovely and quiet and close to Scarborough north beach which is perfect for small children. We really enjoyed our meal at the Plough in Scalby, food, service and atmosphere was great. We mostly cooked our evening meal which was easier having an 8 month old with us. The only improvement we can suggest would be somewhere in the bedrooms to sit and dry hair put on make up etc. Communication with the owner Hannah was great and speedy. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

  • "Beautiful house from the outside, good and spacious inside."

All the mattresses were too soft so no one slept very well. Not enough towels, so ended up using the washer, but couldn't dry them as the dryer didn't seem to work. Not enough instructions for the oven/grill, washer/dryer. Could do with info on what's in the area. The living room smelt very strong of dogs. Such a beautiful house, which looks expensive. Personally wouldn't allow dogs or any pets in .

Hi Clare, thank you for your feedback. We will take on board your feedback. We always ensure the highest standards are applied to the properties including thorough cleaning & Emma mattresses throughout all bedrooms which have one of the highest consumer ratings. Property Owner

The welcome pack was a nice touch too. A quiet location which provided an excellent base to visit Scarborough, Staithes, Sandsend, Robin Hoods Bay & Flamborough Head & only 1.5 miles to Peasholm Park. Had a lovely stay at this property & would definitely recommend.

So clean! So comfortable! So well equipped! Details of reliable take aways when we didn't feel like cooking! The weather wasn't great but that didn't matter in this beaitiful home! Thank you.

Decorated and furnished to a high standard. Comfy beds. Safe, enclosed garden for animals and children. Welcome goodies for humans and the dog were a lovely addition - thankyou. Ideally situated to explore surrounding areas of Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay. We enjoyed a day out to Flamborough Head, seeing seals and puffins. Thankyou.

The cottage is well-equipped with everything needed for a week away, making it a home away from home. The prime location was a highlight, offering convenience and picturesque surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this charming retreat.

  • "This was more than a home from home!"

Such a super relaxing place to stay. Great for the adults in our family, our grandson and the family dog. Such a welcoming place - with a very generous welcome tray waiting for us in the kitchen - fresh milk for that drink you're always ready for after a long journey and accompanying goodies plus a tipple for the evening! Plenty of tea, coffee and sugar. All you would need in the extremely well-equipped kitchen from just the right pan to baking foil, condiments and accompaniments and everything you would need to clean up with! There is a super dishwasher and washer/dryer. I didn't want to go home! I hope we get the opportunity to stay at High Mill House again soon. Thank you so much.

  • "We had a lovely comfortable stay, the house was perfect for a family holiday, the beds were really comfortable, the kids all loved having sky movies for the evening."

My only criticism is that the wheelie bin was overflowing when we arrived and had nowhere to put our rubbish for the whole week, we put the bin out before we left and the owners should of taken the rubbish from before to the tip. We had a baby and needed the bin for the nappies.

  • "Just arrived home after a wonderful week away at this property."

The location is brilliant, only a 5 minute drive to the beach and local supermarket. The house was more than big enough for 6 adults and 1 child. Each room was lovely and spacious with comfy beds. The only minor cons are that the oven was stuck on one setting so couldn't change the temp and there wasn't any information regarding bins so we just googled when to take it out. The property could have done with a few more cleaning products e.g bin liners which we had to buy. The garden had outdoor seating which was great as we were blessed with lovely weather. Overall, the property was fabulous and I will be recommending to others who want to stay in the area.

  • "Beautiful house, very well equipped kitchen which I appreciated as I did quite a bit of cooking; I especially liked the slow cooker."

One shortfall was a dishing up spoon type utensil. Had to dish up pasta bolognaise with a wooden spoon which wasn’t ideal. The rest of the house was fab though, really enjoyed the luxury bed.

  • "The book of information was poor hardly any pages at all, no mention of bin day or anything in the general local area."

Garden chairs would have been nice. But the big problem for us was the oven it seemed to have been programmed for a certain setting and could not be altered, the book was useless in sorting the problem but being 8 people eating differently this was not helpful. The 3rd bedroom the bed slats were not fixed so it was uncomfortable and moved. Apart from that the house was beautiful and very clean. Thank you.

  • "The cottage was lovely and we had no issues really but these things would make it even better."

    1. The bins - we were unsure which bin to put all our recycling in - there were 2 bins outside - 1 for general waste and 1 for garden waste. 2. The TV - it keep saying there was no signal and it took a bit of fiddling with until we used the sky box. You may want to suggest the owners have a basic netflix account? 3. The twin room was the one with the most issues. The way the twin beds were positioned meant that you couldn't open the cupboard door to the wardrobe. This really frustrated my daughter who was sharing with her Grandma. There wasn't a bedside table alongside one of the beds. 4. Somewhere to put toiletries in shower and a toilet roll holder in the en-suite.

Couldn't fault anything! The little touches made it even more special, such as the fresh pint of milk, fresh orange juice, coffee pods, chocolate for the kids and even dog treats for our dog! We are very grateful for the opportunity to stay in such a lovely home, equipped with more than what we needed! We would definitely 100% return. It was a last minute booking as we had a booking elsewhere which got canceled two nights before leaving so we were extremely lucky to find such a lovely place. Thanks again.
