  • "House was clean, comfortable & very well equipped in a superb location."

Thanks for welcome pack and excellent file of information .A five minute walk through a passage on the opposite side of the street led through the churchyard to the Market Place with all its restaurants, cafes, shops and a Co-op supermarket. Lidl is a short walk away. Beck Isle Museum a short distance from Market Place is worth visiting. Double yellow lines outside house means hoping for a parking space further down the street ( in October we got a space every day) or using the car park pass. Superb meals at Cappelmans, Figaros and the Moors Inn at Appleton-Le-Moors just a few miles away. Went to Whitby and used the Park and Ride..very convenient.

All ages of family had private space to escape to as house was good size. Garden was a bonus for children.

  • "This was a wonderful find in Pickering."

It's very deceptive on size. There were 6 of us staying and there was so much space. It was clean, well equipped. Lovely garden. Perfect location in town. We managed to park on the street outside a few nights in the week. If there was no parking the owners provide a parking permit for the car park just 2 mins drive away. We would definitely stay again.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at 22 Halgarth."

When a property owner cancelled our booking with two weeks to go ( had been booked for 7 months) Sykes couldn’t have done more to help us secure another property. We believe that the property we ended up with was better than our original booking. Would stay here and use Sykes again.

  • "We have recently spent a lovely week in 22 Halgarth, Pickering."

The location was perfect, close to shops, pubs and restaurants as well as the Co-op and Lidl supermarkets. Only a 30min drive to nearby York, Scarborough and Whitby. Great for days out at the beach for that holiday feeling. The property itself was spacious and well equipped for our family, including grandparents and two small children. Loved the box of games and the highchair as well as the enclosed safe back garden for them to play in. Also another lovely touch was the fans in each room, which was needed on the hotter nights. Great welcome pack with all the information we needed, along with local takeaway menus if we fancied a night in.

  • "Pickering was a lovely central place to stay."

The house was beautiful and had everything you could possibly want or need for the five of us. It was also a very easy walk in to the centre, which had everything you could want for a local town and was easy to reach the seaside, moors and York following a short drive. Would recommend the house and place, if visiting the area. .

Couple of suggestions, change the front door latch - if the door closes when you haven't got the key on you, your stuck and a couple of smaller cups would be appreciated. Other than that, great.

The house was very well equipped with extremely comfortable beds. The garden was an unexpected bonus, especially as the weather was so wonderful and we felt we could have been somewhere in the Mediterranean! Would thoroughly recommend this property.

  • "Lovely house, at the top of a very pretty, quiet road."

Parking is limited, but we were lucky to get a space all week. Lovely walk through the churchyard into lovely town and onto the NYMR station. The house is spacious and comfortable and the pretty garden a veritable suntrap. Pickering is well placed for exploring Yorkshire, many lovely places are within easy reach, including York, Castle Howard, Malton, Helmsley and the coastal towns of Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes. Lovely scenery on the nearby moors. All in all a lovely place to recharge the batteries !!

  • "The property was perfect for our stay over Easter."

The location of the house is great and parking outside was always available.(if needed, the parking pass for the carpark down the road is a very helpful back-up). The house is perfect for two families to get together, it was very clean, well equipped and with a beautiful garden- the beds very comfortable too! The basket of goodies on arrival was a lovely gesture. Overall a lovely place to get away and a great base if you want to head to the coast for the day.

  • "We had a lovely time at 22 Hallgarth."

We all agreed that we would love to live in this house, it was just perfect. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were very tastefully decorated. The open plan living area was very good, the kitchen was very well equipped and wee particularly enjoyed the log burner which was very welcome after a long day sightseeing. 22 Hallgarth was situated a stones throw from Pickering Town Centre and it took no time at all to walk through the churchyard and into the town centre. There were lots of very good restaurants nearby and plenty of pubs. Such a lovely Market Town. Parking was very easy, we used the nearby public car park which was very close and very safe with the complimentary parking permit. We would not hesitate to recommend 22 Hallgarth to anyone, couples or families alike.

There’s free parking outside the property and we managed to get a spot most days on our return from a day out sight seeing but when not available there’s a pass for a near by car park. Pickering is a great place to stay with super places to visit, moors, coast, towns and village’s a week was just not long enough and we can not wait to return.
