• "A fabulous property in central Pickering with parking and a delightful outside space for summer evenings."

  Everything we needed was there. The towels were really soft and a great size. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a good shower. Two comfortable sofas in a lovely cosy sitting room. It was a really relaxing space. The owners really look after the property and have created a real home away from home. The welcome hamper was lovely.

• "Our stay at Dove Cottage was perfect."

  The cottage is well appointed, clean, and comfortable. We had every amenity we needed for cooking and laundry. The location is ideal with so many sites at its doorstep including Pickering Castle, Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Castle Howard, and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Parking is convenient and the adjacent pub was friendly and accommodating. There is a Coop and. Lidl within walking distance which was also great.

• "This was our second holiday in Dove Cottage and one of the best we have used."

  The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and clean. Everything we could need was provided, including a lovely welcome pack and the guaranteed parking space is a definite bonus. We will definitely try to book again next year.

• "Beautifully appointed little cottage in the middle of Pickering."

  Everything one could want is there - plus many little extras above what many owners provide. For a couple it is perfect - however it is fair to say it is really too small for 2 couples to share, especially as there is only 1 loo, and that is in the bathroom.

• "Fabulous place."

  Very central to the town and walks nearby. Very clean and well thought out with decoration. Beds are comfortable, and a good shower. Everything you need is there. The welcome pack is a thoughtful extra.

  A pub with its own brewery “in the back yard” and some great walks from the cottage with the moors only a 15 minute drive away.

  A real home away from home. Plenty of space for the four of us, plus Holly the Dalmatian! Everything you could possibly need kitchen wise, lovely comfy beds and a powerful shower, even a bowl for the dog! Great location, with lots to explore locally and beyond. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway was a hit with us all. Lovely meal at the Black Swan next door. We would thoroughly recommend, and hope to visit again someday!

  The cottage was so comfortable even when the temperature dipped and the snow fell. Very well situated within a delightful market town, parking and some very good meals to be had in both Swans. Had a wonderful holiday and have rebooked for later in the year, that's just how good this place is.

• "We had a four day break over New Year in this superb cottage, what a little gem."

  Everything and everyone is catered for, right down to the dog bowl. It’s quite spacious, especially the bedrooms. Good log burner kept us all cosied up on a night. The location is brilliant, just round the corner from the high street. There’s plenty of restaurants and pubs on the doorstep, so no need to drive. We had an Indian takeaway from Spice4u which is about three doors away from the cottage, superb and very reasonably priced. Scarborough, Whitby and Helmsley are not far away and easy to get to. We would like to thank Ann & Phil again for the lovely welcome hamper, very kind and thoughtful. We will be staying again this year..

  Lovely central location for exploring this part of Yorkshire. Cottage had everything we needed and more - everything had been thought about. We were a last minute booking for Christmas but the cottage was still decorated with a beautiful tree and some lovely treats in the welcome pack. Thank you for a lovely stay we would not hesitate to reccomend a stay at Dove Cottage.

• "We had an amazing stay in December at Dove Cottage."

  The little touches really added to the stay. The Christmas decorations and the welcome hamper were really thoughtful. The cottage is beautiful and extremely well maintained. The owner Ann, was lovely and provided us with everything myself and my Mum could need. The cottage is perfectly situated for trips to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Castle Howard and of course Pickering.   It was even nicer than we had imagined and outweighed our expectations. The owners had given a great deal of thought to the needs of visitors and provided the perfect pre-Christmas experience with a Christmas tree, lights and ornaments around the house and a more than generous welcome pack. • "A glorious little cottage, with everything we needed and more."

  It was perfect in terms of space, comfort, luxury and location. The parking was a real bonus and Pickering is a bustling, picture perfect town with everything in walking distance. We made use of all the facilities in the cottage and nearby. The hamper was a real treat and we enjoyed it in the cosy surroundings. The attention to detail in the cottage was spot on and I don't think there is anything that could make it better. We didn't use the wood burner but I can just imagine how lovely it would be when it's snowing outside. 10/10 from us!

• "A fantastic property, extremely clean and everything you could ever need in the way of facilities."

  We really appreciated the welcome basket, a lovely touch. Beautiful courtyard area, a real sun trap where we enjoyed breakfasts and a glass of wine in the evenings. Location is ideal for Whitby, Scarborough, York and many other delightful places that the Yorkshire Dales has to offer. Also, the cottage is really handy for nipping around Pickering with plenty of shops, cafes and pubs. One very minor point, stairs are quite narrow up to the second floor, which only impacted the trips taking a suitcase up and down, otherwise all good. Would highly recommend this cottage.

  Prime location right next to Pickering town, great local take always should you not want to cook in walking distance and lovely pubs with great out door seating. • "Dove Cottage was absolutely lovely, beautifully furnished with lovely finishing touches."

  It was extremely clean, all bedding & towels were supplied, very cosy, the central heating made it very warm so there was no need to light the wood burner. A super hamper with many goodies, plus the basic items, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt & pepper, & plenty of cleaning materials available. The visitors information book was very clear and covered all aspects of the cottage and also included many local as well as further afield walks. The weather wasn't suitable to sit in the pretty small courtyard. Ample parking either at the front of the cottage or in the pub car park which could be accessed via the back door of the cottage. An ideal location for wandering into historic Pickering and for visiting much of the National Park's villages and coastal areas.
