  • "This is a beautiful property in a lovely rural setting."

The property is super clean and extremely well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub is an added bonus and though it takes a few hours to heat up it stays warm for a long time and is very relaxing. The welcome hamper was also very well received and appreciated. We will definitely be back!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such kind feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay & look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Best Wishes Joanne & Steve Property Owner

  • "Location Likes."

Amazing location away from main roads which was extremely quiet. Just 50 minutes drive to Scarborough snd very close to York. Lovely kitchen to a very high standard with well equipped utensils (lacking a pizza cutter was the only missing item) Bed is very comfortable and bigger than a super king size. Bathroom has a large walk-in shower with swirlflush toilet. The views are stunning looking out over a beautiful countryside with the enclosed garden being a god send for our Beagle who like to 'explore' so keeping him safe. The following are dislikes. Sofas are very small and uncomfortable spoiling the comfort when relaxing. Needs a corner sofa where you can relax properly. There is a driveway to the owners storage yard which is a few feet away from the window, wrecking privacy when vans drive past or delivery vehicles looking in (careful if sitting in your pants lol as you'll be seen). Hot tub in garden is over looked by owners property which really didn't make us feel comfortable using it. Kitchen has a great extraction for the hob with a metal outlet pipe going outside, sadly the outlet to this has a nonreturn flap which keeps flapping down on reverse wind causing a loud tapping like someone's tapping the windows which can disturb the dog or you if your a light sleeper like me. This was really annoying. The fridge freezer has a faulty solenoid which keeps making a loud click when the thermostat cycles on and off which again causes sleep issues. The fencing and or gate is loose in its housing and thus when there's a slight wind, there is a rattle back and forwards causing the iron mongery to rattle. There was a lovely welcoming hamper which was amazing, the wife got me to by a caffetier because the coffee was that nice. Overall, the property is new and has teething problems. No expense has been spared making this an amazing property. If the things above were to be fixed, I'd definitely return but as it stands I wouldn't return. We didn't meet the hosts, which is what I prefer being a person who like to go on holiday and just enjoy time away quietly. Some hosts can be quite intrusive, but these weren't. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. I’m sorry the cottage was not for you but I’m glad you managed to take some positives away from your trip away. The main point that is important for me to address is the privacy of the hot tub, the hot tub is located tight into the corner & cannot be seen from any of our windows facing it. Regarding the gate, it is made from wood, if made to fit too tightly it simply wouldn’t open & unfortunately the nature of wood means sometimes it swells & other times it contracts. I’ve checked the fridge over & not found any issues but thank you for bringing it to our attention. The extractor is substantial as it is open plan & we don’t want the room to smell, the sofas, we’ve had many guests & not had any complaints about it & finally yes our drive goes past the window but I can assure you unless you stand & peer into the windows you just can’t see anything. We appreciate your views & have taken these onboard. Many thanks Joanne & Steve Property Owner

  • "Wow what a gem!"

Beautiful decor, clean and homely. Attention to detail including the hamper and doggy treats! Beautiful views and peaceful! The list is endless. Only recommendations to have a fan available as it was very stuffy and hot tub to be filled ready as took several hours to be able to enjoy Will definitely return and be recommending to family and friends

Thank you so much for your kind review, we were so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay. Regarding the fans, we have fans available all year round on request & as the weather improves we tend to leave them in the cottages, I have ensured they are in now :) Unfortunately the hot tub must be filled by yourselves as we are not allowed to leave wood fired hot tubs filled with water as it does not comply with regulations, I hope this didn’t cause you too much inconvenience & hope you will return in the near future. Welcome hamper, robes & logs were a lovely touch & we enjoyed very much. The place is immaculate & has everything you need with a fully equipped kitchen. The location is a good base to explore the beautiful east coast & we enjoyed the walk with our GSD around Robin Hoods Bay to Boggles hole , Flamborough head ( where we saw seals on the beach ) & Filey. The town of Pocklington is a 5 minute drive & we did a lovely walk down Pocklington Canal. The log burning hot tub was lovely after a days walking.

The bed was ridiculously comfy. Everything was spotless. Perfect location. I couldn’t recommend enough. Just make sure the first thing you do is fill/heat the hot tub as it takes a while but don’t let this put you off as I couldn’t fault the place. Lovely place to stay.

  • "This is the best equipped, cleanest and most comfortable holiday let we've ever stayed it."

Allow yourself about 90 mins to fill the hot tub and 5 hours to heat it. No electric means no bubbles though which I hadn't realised until we got there but it was lovely to lay in it and listen to the owls hooting away in the darkness.

  • "Robins Nest is a little bolthole in the country."

We loved our stay in your little cottage. We were greeted to the most amazing welcome package and a basket full of logs for the log fire as well as having a beautiful Christmas tree sparkling in the corner. Kitchen was fully stocked of equipment, shower was amazing and the beds were so comfortable. Not far from the busy streets of York which we visited on Saturday but our favorite day was walking around Pocklington, we had lunch at the Wolds Cafe, absolutely delicious and found a gem of a shop called Dilly Dally which is full of treasures. We will most definitely return.
