  • "What a lovely locacation cliff cottage is in, so peaceful."

Nice cottage and fairly comfortable with lots of space and we thoroughly enjoyed playing pool in the evenings. Showers good and WiFi fine, cottage clean and plenty of crockery. Few things that would improve it from our point of view... -Dishwasher control was broken so didn't know what setting it was on and couldn't change it. -A previous review mentioned the cooker not being clean, the top was fine but we found sticky, dirty and brown shelves and a dirty tray with sausage fat still inside on arrival. We cleaned the tray but not the shelves, only used it a couple of times. -A hair dryer would have been welcome, not expensive, unless it was missed. -A handrail at the top on the left of the stairs would have helped Dad get upstairs, there's nothing to hold onto for an older person. -A few new mattresses would be good, although ok to sleep on, springs could be felt when sitting on them. -Could do with a new tin opener. -We felt that hot water temperature needs to be increased slightly, lots of warm showers. -Pictures on website showed logs in basket but none supplied, again not expensive but would be a nice touch, we left the rest of ours for next guests. Not withstanding the above, we had a lovely time and with a few tweeks it would have been even better. Thank you.

  • "The cottage is in a beautiful location with a good sized lawn and off road parking however; It clearly has damp issues that no amount of reed diffusers can mask."

The beds were all uncomfortable, one even had a double mattress in a king size frame. The hot water is only just warm enough to wash in with no way of setting it higher because the nest controller is pin locked. The range cooker needed a deep clean. No wood is provided for the log burner (this would help the damp issues) The crockery cupboard stinks, meaning all the plates and glasses needed to be washed before use. No welcome pack (eggs, milk etc) On the whole it was reasonably clean though. Overall a disappointing stay, this cottage could be wonderful with the right management and a little tlc.

  • "Overall not a bad stay."

Cottage was roomy and situated in a picturesque setting and very quiet. However there were one or two things which could have been improved. Unfortunately some of the bed slats in one of the beds had been broken and poorly repaired which led to my daughter falling through when sitting on it. Also, despite a lot of effort on our part, we could not get the DVD player to work, which was a little annoying. There were a few cobwebs in the kitchen and there was a slightly musty smell coming from the crockery cupboard. We could not find any bin bags either. So a few things to improve on but we had a good time generally at the cottage.

  • "Really nice place, we all absolutely loved it, nice and spacious with great scenery and loved the pool table."

The cloth on the table was a little loose, if it was renewed it would really add to the experience but overall loved staying at cliff cottage.
