  Great central location with easy access to some lovely walks along the River Swale. The cottage was perfect for us, really quirky and so well equipped, it had everything you could every need. There was also a generous welcome pack which we thought was a really nice touch by the owners. Also the towels will not disappoint, definitely 5 star luxury!

  Owners very helpful with information before we arrived and left milk and a welcome pack of food and drink. I had been a little hesitant to book a cottage without parking so close to the centre of Richmond, however we were able to park just around the corner without any problem

• "We stayed in this delightful cottage for 10 nights."

  The cottage was charming and comfortable and had everything we possibly needed and more. The welcome pack was much appreciated. The location is perfect, on the edge of this beautiful town with many walks straight out of the door. It is also ideal for touring the Yorkshire Dales as we did. We would love to stay in this cottage again if visiting Richmond.

• "We had a wonderful 3 week holiday at Dillons Cottage in Richmond."

  Close to the center of Richmond and the river where there is always something to do. Alan and Susan's cottage was also equipped with all amenities. Definitely a touch for people who want to visit the area. We really appreciated the welcome package and it was full of tasty things. Parking around the corner from the green is easy. There is always room, whether in the morning or in the evening. Definitely worth another visit for us. Thank you for the great care Alan and Susan.

• "Enjoyed our stay in Dillon's Cottage very generous welcome pack, Beau enjoyed her treats too."

  Richmond is a lovely friendly town with plenty of pubs café's and restaurants that are dog friendly. Recommend Rustique we went for my birthday and Drummer Boy Café/Tea Room for a hearty breakfasts. Plenty of walks on the doorstep Richmond to enjoy.

• "The cottage is exactly as described and is in fact much larger than it appears in the photos."

  Kitchen table is a bit snug with 4 adults. Our dog was made to feel very welcome which is a pleasant change with bowls and treats provided. Parking was fine on the nearby Green which was also great for doggy needs at bed time. The owner sent us lots of helpful information via text and email which helped us settle in.Lovely walks right from the cottage. The weather was shocking but we really enjoyed our stay as the cottage was so cosy. Richmond is a lovely town with plenty of shops and interesting streets to wander.

  It is ideally placed for various countryside walks, whilst being easily accessible for Richmond Town centre. The owners had thought of everything, including a nice welcome hamper and an early check in. The courtyard is a pleasant area to catch the afternoon sun. We would definitely return.

• "A lovely cottage in a great location close to the river, castle and market square."

  We parked at The Green with no problem at all. The cottage is beautifully furnished and well equipped. The garden is tiny but that wasn't an issue as the cottage is close to some lovely walks ideal for our dog. We appreciated the very generous welcome pack including treats for our dog! We loved our stay in Dillons Cottage and Richmond and I'm sure we'll stay there again.

• "Dillons Cottage is a beautiful place to stay and is a warm and inviting base to explore Richmond and the surrounding area."

  The cottage is furnished with lovely antique furniture and we especially liked the framed old document in the kitchen. The owners have considered everything you may need for a self catering break. The welcome hamper was a lovely touch and very much appreciated. We had to delay our original stay due to personal reasons and the owners and Sykes were extremely understanding and accommodating. If you wish to stay in Richmond and enjoy an antique/vintage style of property Dillons is the place to be. • "We had a wonderful time in Richmond."

  The weather was cold but nearly every day was clear blue sky and Dillons cottage was a very warm and welcoming place to return to. It is extremely well equipped and the owners have provided walking books, maps and lots of information about days out. We had no trouble parking and didn’t need to use the car everyday as we could do some lovely walks from the cottage. Richmond has an abundance of pubs, restaurants and interesting shops and is a beautiful town. I would highly recommend a stay at Dillons cottage.

  Exceedingly good value. Loved the Salle de Bain - very cute. Lovely and warm inside despite pouring Autumn rain outside. Right by the River Swale and The Green so lovely to walk around this area. Delighted with our stay in this character cottage in the heart of medieval Richmond.

• "Cosy little cottage."

  Very well equipped and right by the river. 5 minute walk up a steep hill into town. Really lovely place to stay, comfortable, homely, fabulous shower, and the Welcome basket was so generous. Excellent communication with the hosts before our arrival and great to be informed it was going to be ready 2 hours before the arranged time. Love to come back!

  Owners supplied everything you could possibly need and a lovely welcome back even treats for my dog which i thought was very kind, the property is on a steep bank but don't be put off myself and my friend are no spring chickens and have no car and we could manage it daily

• "Dillon’s is a cosy cottage, that was very well equipped and spotlessly clean."

  The drawers and cupboards were full with a mixture of cutlery and crockery, not just the bare minimum ‘four of everything’ usually found. With nicknacks everywhere, walls covered in artwork, and bookshelves full of books (even recipe books) and brochures, it definitely feels like home from home. Parking was always found around The Green. Some might find the uphill climb a challenge, but the Market Square, with everything it has to offer, is just a short walk away. At least it’s downhill on your way home! The owners left a lovely welcome package, and are on hand by text or phone call if assistance is needed. Nothing was too much trouble. And did I say it was spotlessly clean!! Highly recommend this cosy cottage for a couple or small group.

• "The cottage is beautiful, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable."

  There is a bit of a draft from the front door in the evening, so one suggestion I have is that either the front room curtains be extended to cover the door or if that isn't possible (I know curtains are expensive!), that a draft excluder is provided to cover the bottom of the door. All in all a really lovely little place that I would definitely book again.

  The personal touches and cleanliness made us feel immediately at home. It is the quaintest cottage to find rest after a full day of adventuring. We had a wonderful time picnicking in the castle ruins as we overlooked the river. The perfect weekend.

  The cottage itself is well appointed and really warm/comfortable. Its position on the edge of town means you can stroll (well stride up the hill) into Richmond to enjoy the market place or simply head off in the other direction for walking in some beautiful countryside.
