  • "Really lovely little cabin, just big enough for two people, everywhere was spotless, views were beautiful and the rustic decorations really made it."

We both work on a farm so waking up to seeing free-range chickens and horses was so lovely and peaceful, only improvement we could make would be to have a visitor information booklet for how to work some of the facilities e.g dish washer

Very comfortable has all facilities you need. Hot tub was amazing. Was a really relaxing break loved all the animals around us particularly the black cat ?simba that visited everyday. Very cute. The only thing we won't over keen on was the mattress but wouldn't stop us returning. Highly recommend.

  • "Absolutely perfect place for a relaxing break."

The lodge is beautiful, has everything you need. The place is so quiet and peaceful. Great location for a day out at Scarborough, and a great pub (Ye Olde Forge) 2 miles away which is a nice walk. Communication with the owners was also good. We're definitely planning to return!

  • "Amazing place to stay, very quiet and relaxing."

Beautiful cabin. Owners are very accommodating and friendly. Lovely place to stay. Personally staying in the summer I would like to be able to use the hot tub after 10. After going out for the evening it would be nice to come back and be able to stay in the hot tub past 10pm. Again, amazing place to stay. One thing that would elevate the accommodation, would be a tv outside that you could watch while in the hot tub seeing as music is not allowed.

The accommodation was beyond reproach perfectly situated and positioned for the best views of rolling countryside and wildlife. Best of all the amenities and attractions are a stones throw away in all directions including all tastes of eating establishments. An absolute perfect break with excellent hosts and friendly people all around, hope to return some day.

  • "Our time at sunset retreat was brilliant."

It was a beautiful place to stay and everything was very clean. The cabin was very private. The fairy lights all in the cabin and the ones above the hot tube made it so cosy and pretty. The cabin had all the facilities you could need (oven, dishwasher, fridge, small freezer) and everything was provided (towels, hand soap etc.) just like if you were staying in a hotel. The cabin had central heating which warmed the cabin up really quickly but there was also a log burner too. The hot tube was amazing very clean and stayed hot throughout our stay so we could jump in without having to wait. Loved how easy check-in and check-out was, just turn up and the key was in the door and leave the key in the door when leaving. The only one thing I would add is if would have been useful if there was some basic instructions for the oven, dishwasher and the buttons on the hot tub. Overall 10 out of 10 and hope to go again in the future :). Thank you sunset retreat.

Maybe recommend to bring flip flops and robes for hot tub.

  • "All round a lovely stay - a well presented and equipt pod."

(Only thing we would mention but only to flag up to the owners to prevent further issue is that some of the hooks to the curtains are missing which closing them neatly was tricky - it didn’t spoil our enjoyment!)

The property

This well-presented, glamping pod enjoys a rural position on the south-eastern fringes of the North York Moors National Park.

With easy access to the amenities of Scarborough, Sunset Retreat is an ideal base for couples looking to escape to North Yorkshire.

After a day of walking, kick off your walking boots and step into the open-plan living area, collapsing on the sofa after you get the woodburner going.

There is a dining area for two, where you can enjoy a romantic dinner prepared in the well-appointed kitchen, housing all the necessities for a short break.

As the night rolls in, retire to the sumptuous double bed and dream about the adventures to come.

Awaken from a leisurely slumber with a rinse in the shower room, before preparing a coffee and heading out to the patio furniture for a morning ponder.

You might even be tempted by the luxury of the hot tub, starting the day with a relaxing soak.

Get to know the surrounding area as you wander over the neighbouring hills and luscious open countryside, or if you’re seeking a bit more adventure, head to the North Yorkshire Water Park, with inflatable courses, kayaking and paddleboarding, a zip line, climbing wall and wakeboarding as well as the Wykeham Lakes Fishery where you can hook your catch of the day.

If you fancy a night away from the kitchen, head into Scarborough and if you don’t fancy cooking, treat your loved one to an evening meal at one of the nearby eateries, such as El Gringos, for Tex-Mex cuisine, or Lezzet Mediterranean Bistro, for a Mediterranean sharing platter.

There's plenty to fill your holiday itinerary at Sunset Retreat.
