  • "Lodge 18 was without doubt one of the cleanest properties we have stayed in!"

It was well laid out and very comfortable. Dog felt right at home too. The Lodge was a few minutes walk to the pub and beach, and a convenient coast bus made exploring the coastal walks easy. We were able to leave the car behind which was wonderful. Cant think of any negatives except that we felt there could have been more kitchen ware - microwavable dishes for example. Extra mugs and cutlery would have been useful and would reduce the amount of dishwashing required. Minor issues and did not detract from our stay.

  • "It was lovely."

Highest of standards in every way. Just one thing. No cork screw to open our wine so our dinner was a bit flat. We had to go out to find a shop. May book the lodge again.

Nothing to improve - we just forgot to say there was no bottle opener and you could do with a few more mugs (we drink a lot of tea!). Thanks for a great stay.

That’s fantastic to hear, we’re so glad you enjoyed the lodge! Thank you for the lovely comments, I am sorry the bottle opener has gone walkabout, I’ll get that replaced asap! And we completely agree that you can never have too much tea so will get some more added in Property Owner

  • "Lodge 18, The Pines is a lovely lodge in a quiet park."

Runswick Bay is well located for days on the North Yorks coast or exploring the moors. The lodge is well decorated and maintained with plenty of space and lots of hanging space in the boiler cupboard if you need to dry anything off. The only recommendations are to provide instructions for the hob and cooker.

Hi, Thank you very much for such a lovely review. We will make sure to add instructions for the appliances as soon as possible! Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

RUNSWICK BAY

Staithes 2 miles; Whitby 9 miles; Saltburn-by-the-Sea 10 miles.

The historic fishing village of Runswick Bay is without doubt one of the true gems of the Yorkshire Coast, if not the whole of the UK. This picturesque SE-facing village situated 9 miles from Whitby sits in a beautiful sheltered sandy-beached bay backed by spectacular cliffs and moorland scenery. Relatively un-commercialised and with vehicular traffic restricted, the village provides the perfect setting in which to relax and unwind. There is much to do in the local area, whether it's visiting Whitby with its famous Abbey, Staithes with its pretty shops, cafes and superb art gallery, or touring the dramatic North York Moors. The lower village houses a local inn serving food along with a spectacularly situated cafe, whilst nearby Hinderwell provides 2 inns, a fish and chip shop, a local butchers and a garage/petrol station.
