• "This was our second stay at the Penthouse (we previously stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of August this year for my son's Birthday)."

  The penthouse is very comfortable and well equipped and we once again very much enjoyed our stay. The only feedback we would offer (the first part being a repeat of our previous feedback) is: 1. The curtains in the property are very basic and those above the two sets of patio doors in the lounge are both hard to reach and of a very cheap material - the apartment would be so much improved if the curtain rails could be upgraded to allow much easier operation and also if the curtain material could be either lined or replaced with thicker material, the light reduction would be much better (which is especially important in the lighter summer months). 2. The second minor niggle this time was that one of the two single beds was fitted with a lightweight summer duvet (the other single bed and the king size in the master bedroom appeared to have thicker, more weather appropriate duvets) - it would have been good to have a warm duvet on both single beds, as it was quite chilly at night (in October). We also (as per our August feedback) found the pillows a little soft and the mattress on one of the single beds a little uncomfortable but it was manageable. The apartment is beautifully situated for easy access to the North Beach and nearby cafes - its worth mentioning that we did note quite a bit of noise from the road at night time as it seems the neighbouring car park and nearby roads are used by local boy racers - there was a noticeable amount of engine revving and squealing tyres in the evening, which was slightly intrusive but tolerable - not sure where the local constabulary were when this was happening as its obviously a regular occurrence :). None of this detracted from our overall enjoyment but some tweaks to the curtains and the bedding would make a difference.

• "So much room to relax, which was the reason for chosing the Penthouse A couple of negatives, quite a few dead flies and a choice of pillows would not go amiss, not all of us like a fibre pillow so a feather option would be appreciated."

• "This is the second time in the past two months that we have stayed at this accommodation as we loved it so much the first time we decided to come back."

  The first time we found the property to be extremely clean and tidy and the beds were comfy. We loved everything about it. Unfortunately the second time we came I found the cleanliness was shocking and it really spoilt our stay. 1) The en suite bathroom toilet had dried yellow urine on the seat and obviously had not been cleaned. 2) The fridge hadn't been cleaned with food debris in the bottom. 3) One of the sinks in the bathroom hadn't been cleaned, there was a film of dirt over it 4) The Juliet glass balcony was covered in greasy fingerprints. 5) The cushions on the settee were shabby and there was a hole in the settee but I understand fully that this is simply wear and tear and these things cannot be changed everytime. We were so disappointed about the cleanliness this time given the first time it was so beautifully clean.

• "The penthouse was absolutely superb and stunning."

  Very impressed by the cleanliness, furnishings and decor. The beds were more comfortable than the ones in my own home. There’s even a seaview from the kitchen window and a view over some of Peasholm Park from the living room window. The terrace/balcony, at the back of the property, is protected from any wind meaning you can enjoy the sun fully. Secure for any dog too. I would recommend that the property could be improved by installing a DVD player, more coat hangers, a second TV (in one of the bedrooms) and more fridge/freezer space as there’s loads of cupboard space and hardly any space for chilled items for a 4 person property. Finally, black out blinds or curtains would be much appreciated. At 5am (June) the sun was streaming in the back (twin) bedroom. Overall, an amazing stay and would highly recommend. Many thanks

  Immaculate and well equipped apart from the microwave which was rusty with flaking paint inside - pics available. Didn't feel able to use it. Really surprised given standard of rest.

  A big shout out to the team of cleaners who do a magnificent job. The only negative comment to note is that the en .suite shower was very difficult to get in and out due to the narrow space !!! However the main bathroom compensated for that

• "Beautiful apartment."

  Really comfy beds. All around viewing was lovely. Especially the park at night. (All lit up). Would have liked a coffee machine in the kitchen. The front door could be a little difficult, unless you had strong wrists. The lighting was not the best for reading, (especially for elderly people). The mock camera lights were nice to look at, but not very handy. But we did enjoy our stay, and would definitely recommend.

• "Over all the apartment and the facilities were great as well as the bottle of white wine."

  Towards the end of our stay, we made a memory since I proposed to my boyfriend. The one thing that let it down was a surprise in the toilet not a lot but I noticed it at the back where the water didn’t flush it away properly( main bathroom not en suite) but that being said we’ll be back. Thank you for having us.

  There was everything we needed - the bed was very comfortable, the apartment is warm and the shower was powerful and hot. Ideally situated in North Bay, close to the park, the coast, local amenities and walking routes. Car parking is definitely a bonus in Scarborough.

  The wine was very thoughtful and appreciated. The building itself and appointment were beautiful and lovely and clean. My only suggestion would be a better security gate to prevent others from accessing the property since some antisocial behaviour happened outside in the car park opposite one night. Since the gate is open 24/7 maybe invest in a better security gate to protect clients cars while events are happening. Thanks again for a wonderful stay Kind regards Mr Foster

  The only issue is the anti-social behaviour of groups of males who gather in the car park opposite each evening. The noise of revving engines, loud music and screeching of vehicles was intolerable.

  Comfortable and spacious. Very clean throughout, especially with Covid19 restrictions. Only things that could be added was a grater and tongs in kitchen. Also to be aware car park at front can be noisy at night as people meet up and rev engines. If you a light sleeper would recommend sleeping in back bedroom.

• "The penthouse was an absolute gem."

  Beautifully decorated and clean. Very high standard throughout. Felt so relaxed staying. It was an idea base for either walking into town (if you like walking 1.5 miles) or driving to Whitby and Bridlington. There was a local shop not too far away down the hill. We didn’t hear any noise from our neighbours and only the odd car driving outside at night. One of the bedrooms is at the back if you want to escape any noise. Everything we needed was there including towels, a welcome bottle of wine and a pint of milk. They left us enough dishwasher tablets so didn’t have to do much washing up. There is 1 parking space at the back of the property for each apartment. The penthouse is No.5. In February there was no charge for parking on road until 1st March. Only thing I would suggest is taking your own pillows if you are particular. Nothing wrong with the ones there but found them either too big or too flat. Also there isn’t a DVD player which didn’t bother us as we took a few games to play. We will definitely be back to stay!

  Beds/bedding/towels were pristine. Views from windows and balcony were lovely. Being pensioners, with no car, we need to have walks and amenities within a short distance. This we had here with the park/Scalby Mills/sea front/fish and chips /pizza shop/ shops/chemist. Excellent information and booking from Sykes.

• "The apartment is furnished to a very high standard and we really appreciate the fact that dogs are welcome and we would definitely return."

  The property has a big kitchen with lots of empty cupboard space and we were lacking a few basic items that we would expect to find in a high spec property. For example, pint / large tumbler glasses, better selection of wine glasses, large serving bowls for salads, a set of Pyrex bowls, meat /serving tongues, bigger chopping board(s), more cutlery - a party of four would be constantly having to wash up. The property description says there is a games room but couldn't find one. Just marked cleanliness down as there was a lot of dog hairs on the arm chair and a stain on the foot stool.

  ..it met all our expectations! The dog friendly Penthouse Suite accommodation was one of the finest properties we have stayed in...it was located in an ideal elevated position overlooking the park, offering easy access to the park and beach. It was clear that the owners had made every effort to get the accommodation layout, furniture and decoration to a very high standard. An excellent property which we would happily recommend

• "My partner and I had a lovely stay at the Penthouse."

  The apartment was lovely and clean, very comfortable and with high quality furnishings. The beds were comfortable and we loved the Juliet Balcony from the double bedroom and living area (although we couldn't use them much due to the weather!). There is also a balcony to the rear of the property, again, we were unable to use this often due to the weather but it would be lovely in the summer. It is nice to have parking in a location so central to Scarborough and its North Bay attractions, parking is conveniently located around the back of the property and is numbered as per apartments. We had everything we needed and were warm and cosy in the apartment. North Bay is within a few minutes walk from the property and South Bay a bit further but all within easy reach of the apartment. We had some lovely days out at Whitby (including walking the 199 steps), Robin Hoods Bay, Filey and Filey Brigg - but also enjoyed evenings in too or walks around North Bay (watch out for those waves!). Overall, we loved the Penthouse, having stayed at Apartment 3 in June we loved it so much that we thought we would return for a short break at the Penthouse. Thank you for the wine upon arrival - it was much appreciated. My only negative, it would have been nice to have essentials (as we have had before) such as milk, salt and pepper and bin liners - But overall, it was amazing! Thank you.

• "Just back from a lovely week at The Penthouse apartment."

  The apartment seemed like it was brand new, the beds were so comfy! We loved sitting out on the balcony with a glass of wine. Location us excellent. 5min walk from Peasholm Park, Open air theatre, the beach and Alpamare is a 10/15min walk away. Next summer there will also be a cinema and a few more restaurants. We will definitely return in the future and would absolutely recommend the apartment. It also has a free parking space, which is quite rare in Scarborough!

  Very comfortable and perfect lication, we will definitely be back again when the weather is warmer. The only issue we had was the radiator in the master bedroom (ensuite bedroom) isn’t working so it was freezing cold, im sure this can easily be rectified
