Lovely and warm and had all the facilities needed for a holiday. We really enjoyed walking along North bay and around peasholm park, the dragon boats were great fun even in the rain! We travelled to Whitby abbey and Bridlington animal farm, which is a fantastic day out. We have already booked for next year.

  • "Hi just to mention l found the gas oven and grill to be slow in cooking and also some frying pans for use are needed"

Thank you for your feedback following your 3rd stay at the cottage. Firstly, with regards to the gas oven & grill, this has recently had its annual service and passed its Gas Safety Certification by our Gas Safe Registered Plumber. Any faults with the oven/grill would have shown up at the time it was serviced and tested, which it didn’t, therefore, is running correctly, but most importantly, safely. Secondly, as this was your 3rd stay at the cottage, knowing what pans are supplied (1 large frying pan & a set of 3 various size pans with lids), you could have asked for more frying pans to be provided during your stay, had you responded to the email sent out to you 5 days before you were due. Or, you could possibly have brought with you, additional frying pans to use during your stay. Best Regards Property Owner

  • "We were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, comfort and level of facilities and equipment."

We have 2 comments for the owner to consider. Please note that these are very small and not a criticism at all. Given the high temperatures we experienced, more kitchen bin liners need to be provided to ensure good hygiene and the cutlery is not ergonomically friendly or practical.

However, instructions on how the heating, microwave and television worked would have been helpful. The towels were very small and the ziplock bed was not comfortable. Cleaning products for the bathroom and toilet are needed.

Dear guest(s), thank you for your constructive feedback following your recent stay at my cottage. It is such a shame that you were not satisfied with quite a few things, however, not once during the 7 nights you stayed for did you contact me in anyway to bring this to my attention. Had you done so, many of the problems you listed could have been addressed. Unfortunately we cannot satisfy all guests who stay at the cottage, and some of your feedback will be addressed. • "What a gem this cottage is; a real home from home - Joanne has thought of everything."

My husband loved the home-made blackberry jam - it’s his favourite. Thanks so much :) We arrived the weekend of storm Arwen so the weather was bitterly cold, but the cottage was lovely and warm when we entered and for the whole of our stay. It's immaculately clean and very well furnished. It's also ideally located to explore the North East coast and is within easy reach of Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Bridlington. This was our first visit to the area, but it definitely won’t be our last; there's so much to see and do. The cottage is in a super location - 2 minutes walk to the beach and 2 minutes walk to Scarborough Town Centre. There are some fabulous places to out close by too. We highly recommend Gianni's Italian restaurant, a 10 minute walk away. All in all, we had a really lovely break and recharged our batteries, which was the whole point of our trip. We would have no hesitation returning to this property or recommending it to anyone who is looking for accommodation in the Scarborough area.

  • "An excellent holiday cottage in perfect position close to north bay, town centre and the castle."

We could not fault anything in the property from the quality furnishings to the cleanliness, which during these times is obviously a concern for all holiday makers. We visited robin hoods bay, pickering, whitby, Filey and bridlington. Enjoying the beach, rock pooling and pebble hunting with our two children aged 6 and 8. The nearby english heritage sites of a Scarborough castle, whitby abbey and Pickering castle were also great fun, as was the national trust property at nunnington hall. We would recommend sewerby hall near bridlington for young families, which has lots of open space, gardens and a small zoo. Parking was no problem, with spaces on castle street available every day, which made unloading and packing up very straightforward. We would strongly recommend this cottage and will be booking a return visit.

No expense has been spared to make the stay here as comfortable as possible. The owners Jo and James are very nice and welcoming and do everything they can to make sure you have a comfortable stay. Even though permits are provided, streets are lined with cars. Neighbour told us not to move the car if we had a space as it would be difficult to find one again. We did move it as we obviously wanted to go out and we did manage to find one again on our return, but it took a while of driving round and round. Not ideal. Next time I would pay a bit more if necessary and find a property with a driveway.

) and not far to busses and trains, so also trips to York and Castle Howard are easily possible. Fantastic to visit all the nesting birds on the coast! Not only on wellknown places like Bempton cliffs, you can see them "everywhere"; for example fulmars at Robin Hoods Bay. Then there are the seals near Ravenscar, where you can also have a nice cup of tea and a gorgious walnut coffee cake at the station tea rooms! And to the cottage itself: very welcoming, very beautiful furnished, very clean, a nice place to stay, even if the weather is not so fine. Loved it! The proprietors have been very helpfull! Drove me to the train station on departing day, as my taxi didn´t turn up! Can really recommend it!

The location couldn’t be better; round the corner from the main shops, very close to both the South and North Bays and a short walk away from the station and bus stops. If you like coastal walks they are on your doorsteps. I spent two weeks there and was able to explore the whole area by train, bus and walking. Should one have a car, there is plenty of parking space on the streets around it. Inside the cottage everything is new, stylish and at the tip of one’s fingers. Scarborough with all its attractions is on your doorsteps, too, but you will find the cottage very quiet and secluded. Jo is a perfect host and I have had a wonderful two week holiday in her beautiful cottage. I would certainly recommend it and would love to come back soon myself.
