  • "A lovely comfortable cottage with a lovely homely feel to it."

It was warm and cosy with a wonderful big bed and great shower facility. There was butter, milk, bread and eggs as a welcome pack for us, which were fantastic. There's a pub just opposite the cottage with lovely home comfort food. You have easy access to the beaches up along the Yorkshire coastline, such as Hornsea, Bridlington, Filey and Whitby and so on. We had a very relaxing and lovely week.

  • "We stayed in the old milking parlour and it was bB Beautiful, cozy, very clean (you would never believe that dogs also visit)."

Also plenty of room. Everything you need is provided and quality items including the bedding. Netflix was welcomed and a welcome pack was very much appreciated. It included milk, eggs, bread, jam, butter, biscuits, coffee, teabags, sugar and sweeteners. It also has a lovely courtyard with allocated parking spaces and seating. If only there was a little private garden for the dogs to enjoy and use the toilet ( which we would be more than happy to clean after use as we do at home) it would be 100% perfect. This wouldn’t stop us from staying again though, we will definitely be back! Chrysta is a lovely lady and welcomed us when we arrived, she then left us to enjoy our break and told us where she was if we needed her. Thank you Chrysta.

  • "A nice place."

Small but has everything you would need and the welcome pack was much appreciated. Very clean but there was a very faint "doggy" smell, which didn't bother us. It does have a great shower - I wish ours was as good! Pehaps the only thing lacking was a drainer for the washing up. The Old Milking Parlour is well equipped, and much of the stuff in it looked brand new. The bed was a little bit firm for us but you will never please everyone with a bed! What's right for one is wrong for another. A good place in a nice part of the country at a good price. We were very happy with it.

  • "A great base for exploring the East Riding and it's gorgeous coastline."

A really interesting area historically too. Quaint villages built in local stone with tiled roofs, many with duck ponds. The Milking Parlour was perfect for myself and two dogs. It was clean, well equipped and comfortable.

  • "Prior to arriving at the property I had no notification of the key lock number."

When I arrived at 5.15 pm I knocked on the main farm door, to enquire about access to the cottage and was greed by a very disgruntled man, who id obviously disturbed. He keyed the number into the key lock and told me to to put the key back in on leaving the property. No friendly word at all. The guy needs to brush up on his people skills. Property was spotless and very roomy to say in was only one bedroom, it’s an ideal hideaway. However it advertises for.dogs. This is certainly not a dog friendly property. There is no enclose space for the dog to go out to relive its self. They request that your dog does not relive its self in the court yard. As this is not enclosed area you have to walk on to the road side. Not a very good idea at 3 In the morning for a woman on her own to be doing. I cut my time there by two days.. certainly not a dog friendly venue,

  • "The only thing I can criticise comes down to personal preference - the arm chairs in the living room aren't the most comfortable for long periods of time, if you wanted to sit down and watch a film in an evening for example, so we would have preferred maybe a 2 seater sofa."

Also the pillows on the bed were very firm, so if we were to stay here again I'd bring my own, softer pillows. Other than that, everything else about our stay was perfect.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

The property was very clean and well equipped, with plenty of room for two. We particularly enjoyed the decor of the bedroom and the spaciousness of the bathroom. Skipsea is conveniently situated on this stretch of coast for trips south to Hornsea and Beverley and north to Bridlington, Flamborough and Filey. We also found a warm welcome at The Board pub across the road, which served decent basic grub.

SKIPSEA

Hornsea 6 miles; Bridlington 9 miles; Driffield 11 miles; Beverley 15 miles.

The village of Skipsea is situated in the Yorkshire Wolds, in a typically rural setting surrounded by rich, agricultural land, yet Skipsea also sits within one mile of the beach and is close to the cliffs of the North Sea. The village has its own Post Office and general store, a hairdresser’s and a pub. Many of the houses in the village, both old and new, use cobbles from the sea shore in the building. Just outside the village are the remains of Skipsea Castle.
