  • "Lovely, well kept, clean place we were there with our 2 dogs late on in the year even had a snow day and the place was lovely and warm, the welcome pack was appreciated as we arrived very late, did let Crysta know and the lights were left on outside for us."

Great base for visits to other places loved the secluded beaches where our dogs could run free. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice quiet place to stay as a base.

  • "The Tractor Shed is an ideal cottage for 2 people wishing to holiday in a quiet, peaceful place."

It is ideally situated to visit York and the surrounding towns of Whitby and Scarborough. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances and the shower room is beautifully appointed. There is good quality bed linen and a king size bed which in my experience is unusual in a holiday cottage. Everything was clean and looked fairly new. Although the pub is across the road, we never felt it intruded in any way. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage. Chrysta is lovely and it was comforting to know she was just across the courtyard should we have needed anything.

  • "Lovely place but not really dog friendly."

Listing says Garden/Patio which reads as a grassed area is available. There is only a small patio at the front of the accommodation and a communal area in the courtyard, both which are not to be used for dog toileting. The village is extremely dangerous for pets and owners due to the excessive speed from traffic when trying to find a grassed area for toileting.

  • "Well planned and designed cottage all fixtures and fittings are to a high standard."

Good location with four large dog friendly beaches at Skipsea via Mr Moos!, Hornsea, Fraisthorpe and Mappleton each of which had parking (3 of them free), PCs and dog friendly cafes and all were within a fifteen minute drive. First time we've been to this part of the east coast but would say its underrated. For dog owners it has all you need

  • "This was a perfect cottage for a couple."

There was everything you might need, even down to maps of the area, the welcome pack was particularly useful. It is tastefully decorated with a comfortable and spacious bedroom and living area. The kitchen is lovely, there is no washing machine but the owners will allow you to use theirs. The bathroom is excellent, even with toiletries provided. This was a spotlessly clean cottage. Parking was easy, the pub just across the road, and the shop a couple of minutes walk away. The food in the pub is good and the staff friendly. We liked Hornsea and got some excellent but not cheap fish and chips from the Seafront Chip Shop. Our hosts were lovely, it is reassuring that they are close by. We simply loved the place and will be back!

The bed was a little uncomfortable for me but can't please everyone with that. The bathroom had a damp smell but we just left the light on and opened the door all the time which seemed to resolve the issue. Loads of things to do in the area, would have been nice to have been left brochures of leaflets on what to do in the area, we were given recommendations by others once there but didn't have the time to visit them all. Our dog loved the cottage and the walks in the area! Thank you again for having us

I think the property had some damp issues particularly the bathroom as this smelt damp, the rest of the property seemed fine

Hi Ian, I am sorry that you had an issue - no guests have mentioned this previously. Although as the bathroom is internal we have noticed that there is sometimes a problem when guests don't leave the door open to allow air through - this is a condensation issue rather than damp. As detailed in the property information available in the Old Tractor Shed we do ask guests to leave the bathroom door open when they go out to allow the space to air. Once again I am sorry you had an issue. Best wishes, Chrysta Property Owner
