  • "Scottwil is a beautiful house to stay in."

    So clean, comfortable, lots of extra touches. We had a really relaxing time. Great location for visiting York centre and also the McArthur Glen Outlet. We met Claire the host on arrival, she was so kind and helpful too... We visited the 'Half Moon' pub for an evening meal just across the road. Service was fantastic, everyone extremely friendly and the food was outstanding. All in all our group decided the best house we've stayed in and we'll definitely be back. Thank you for just the most perfect weekend! Highly recommend. Five stars!!!!

  • "Amazing Holiday Cottage Claire couldn’t do enough for us."

  • "Lovely place, cosy and comfortable for a nice relaxing time after a days site seeing."

  • "The property was immaculate and had a fully equipped kitchen."

    It is ideally situated, close to a park and ride to access York and many local attractions. We had my Grandsons with us (under 3) and the local amenities were ideal to entertain them for the duration of our stay, a week wasn't long enough. We were extremely lucky with the weather and were able to open up the bi-fold doors to truly appreciate the garden and quiet location. The village pub serves excellent food and is just over the road, they too were very accomodating.

  • "This was a lovely place from which to reach the sites of Yorkshire."

    Scottwil was immaculate, very clean, very comfortable. It lacked for nothing. The kitchen is unbelievable - a cook’s dream for sure. The Half Moon just across the street was an excellent dining option as well. Highly recommend and would enjoy going back another time.

  • "What a find!"

    A beautiful holiday home in a tranquil, picturesque setting close to York. The property is well equipped and no expense has been spared on fixtures and fittings. The master bedroom with views across the garden and fields is a real gem. We booked this property for ourselves and for our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter and it was perfect as there was plenty of space. We would definitely recommend Scottwil and would love to stay again when we are next in the area.

    Everywhere spotless. Generous welcome pack. Property had everything we could have possibly needed, and was lovely and warm for our arrival. More than ample amount of kitchen equipment/utensils which was a bonus when cooking for eight. Comfortable beds. Gorgeous view from master bedroom. Would have no hesitation in booking Scottwil again.

  • "Absolutely fantastic,we had our xmas family get together and Claire was so accomodating."

    When we were arrived Scottwill had a the christmas decorations put up, Claire was there to meet us on arrival and explained everything and could not do enough for us. The accomodation is to the highest standard, cannot say enough about it. Basically just book it and have a fantastic time. The Harvest Moon Inn is also fantastic, food and beer is excellent.

  • "Our stay at Scotwil was excellent from start to finish - the accommodation itself it first class, everything you need and more, and a big garden, set in a lovely peaceful location."

    An added bonus is the pub over the road, which do brilliant food and has a great atmosphere. York only 20 mins away - so easy access to local amenities. Would recommend to anyone - probably the best quality accommodation we have ever stayed in.

  • "An impeccably designed holiday rental, Scottwil boasts an abundance of luxurious features including panoramic bi-fold doors across the whole of the rear ground floor, underfloor heating, high quality mattresses & bedding and an extensively stocked kitchen."

    The quiet village location is ideal for a restful stay but York, Malton, Beverley and the beaches of the east coast are only a short drive away. Claire was an extremely responsive and welcoming host and we would have no hesitation in recommending her delightful property to friends and family. In fact, we are already checking dates for next year!

  • "Fabulous property with spacious gardens in a wonderful location."

    Well thought out rooms both upstairs and downstairs and as there were five of us, this facilitated space for us all. Bifold doors across the whole back of the house gave lovely views and fresh air as we had great weather. Spacious patio with furniture enabled us to sit outside and take in the peaceful birdsong. Master bedroom had its own spacious balcony with furniture. Extremely well equipped modern kitchen. Claire is a super host and had left a welcome pack as well as tea/coffee and milk, cooking spices, sauces. Her gastro pub a very short walk away served top quality food … we ate their three nights! Location is great for visits to Whitby, York, Pickering, York lavender fields and much much more.
