  • "Gorgeous cottage."

Beautifully decorated, well equipped and spotlessly keen. We felt comfortable & our (nervous) dog was very happy. It was nice to have a welcome pack with doggy treats. It was a cold weekend but the cottage was warm & cosy. We couldn’t get the timed central heating to work (this may be our stupidity) so put it on & off manually. Thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and Kestrel Cottage lived up to your expectations. Thank you for the positive feedback. Hopefully we can welcome you back in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage for us, 2 + dog, in an ideal situation in the village."

We enjoyed our stay very much. Very clean and tidy. Only minor niggle: there was no operating guide for the TV. We would have liked to use our streaming service accounts (Netflix, Prime etc) in the evenings but it did not seem possible. However, we would come back to Kestrel again next year.

Thank you for taking the time to review Kestrel cottage. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay! We’ll look at finding the instructions out for the TV, thanks for letting us know. Look forward to welcoming you back next year! Property Owner

  • "Really lovely cottage, spotlessly clean, well decorated and maintained."

Plenty of takeaways , coffee bars, shops and pubs a stones throw away from the cottage. Lovely friendly people. One of our dogs loved it so much he didn't want to go out of the cottage!! Unfortunately we had to come home early so didn't get to visit many places. Would definitely come back.

Thank you so much for your lovely review of Kestrel Cottage. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Such a shame you needed to leave early, we’ll look forward to welcoming you back soon! Property Owner

  • "Fantastic cottage and location."

We ran and walked everyday for 15 miles plus. Stokesley has some nice pubs, cafes and shops plus restaurants to choose from. Roseberry topping and Captain Cook's monument are great walks, as is Lordstone cafe. We stopped at G and Tea a few times walking to the Buck at Great Ayton. YThai was amazing food and the Spread Eagle and White Swan were the best pubs for beer and meeting the locals. The cottage had parking right outside and was a good base for the area. We will definitely be back again

Thank you for taking the time to review Kestrel Cottage, you’ve definitely made the most of exploring the area by the sounds of it! You’ve been to some lovely places. So pleased you enjoyed your stay, we will certainly look forward to welcoming you back soon. Property Owner

  • "A beautiful property in a lovely setting."

The cottage was really nicely decorated and comfortable, it was spotlessly clean and tidy, both inside and outside. Just a moment’s walk from all the town has to offer, but in a lovely quiet spot overlooking the green. Everything was perfect and the welcome hamper was really much appreciated, by us and our dog. The only thing missing that would be helpful is a full length mirror.

We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Kestrel Cottage. Thank you for the lovely feedback, we do like things to be perfect for our guests. I will take onboard your comment regarding the full length mirror and get one added to the master bedroom. Hopefully we can welcome you back sometime in the future. Property Owner

About the location

STOKESLEY

Great Ayton 3 miles; Saltburn-by-the–Sea 14 miles.

Stokesley is an attractive, elegant, historic market town which was mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, with many interesting Georgian and Victorian buildings. The River Leven flows through the town and is crossed by the ancient Pack Horse Bridge. Levenside provides visitors with a peaceful riverside walk, well planted with trees, as a contrast to the bustle of the High Street. The town has a distinguished wide cobbled main street lined with Georgian and Regency buildings. It is well served with shops, banks, public houses and restaurants and the weekly Friday markets are held on the main square. Just off the market square is the Church of St Peter & St Paul which has woodwork carved by the Mouseman of Kilburn. Surrounded by the Cleveland Hills and close to the northern edge of the North York Moors, Stokesley provides an ideal base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales, the heather clad North Yorkshire Moors and the pretty market towns of Great Ayton, Northallerton and Thirsk. The seaside spa resort of Saltburn is 30 mins drive away whilst Whitby, Runswick Bay and Robin Hoods Bay are within easy reach.
