  • "I was dissatisfied, my family didn’t stay, only one shower when it stated 2 bathrooms so was expecting 2 showers."

Double bed mattress not up to standard, stained and kettle full of stagnant smelly water and flecks of white scale. I only stayed 2 nights.

  • "We arrived in pouring rain and property was cold, unable to turn on heating and contacted owner who was brilliant."

Radiators had been turned off by previous occupant. Soon got warm and cosy Only two comments the path to van needs extending as the grass was sodden with all the rain so we were treading mud in, and could do with bedside lamps. Otherwise lovely property.

  • "Fire extinguisher in its box in a cupboard."

Surely for health and safety this should be visable on a wall, possibly near the door. An information pack about the van would have been good eg the items and their instructions. Plus what to do at the end of your stay eg bins and bedding/towels etc (people may not get the email from Sykes as internet not good) Info about the site as their pack would not download. Also would make it more personal to the lodge rather than info just from Sykes. A small thing but frustrating, only 2 rolls of toilet tissue, irritating to have to buy a pack that wouldnt all be used. Would have brought some had we known. Overall these are small things but did have some impact. Didnt spoil the holiday and we had a lovely time with my 90 year old Mum. Thank you

  • "Another super stay."

Extremely lucky with weather so could take advantage of new outdoor furniture. All amenities we could wish for, very clean and tidy. Towels and linens good quality (altho would prefer to have matress and pillow protectors). Would recommend and will, hopefully, return. Thanks you for another good stay.

  • "It would have been nice to have a welcome pack with details of how to access the Wi-Fi and what the owners wanted us to do with the towels and to bedding."

Also some info on good sites to visit or good places to eat. Other than that it’s a good place go.

A toilet brush in the bathroom. Fridge needs defrosting. Saying all that we all enjoyed our stay and hopefully will be back.

  • "Lawlers Retreat is in a wonderful position in a quiet area of the site, overlooking a green."

It is new and modern and immaculately clean. The furnishings, linen etc are of a high standard and good appliances. There was everything we could possibly want inside and a super veranda with ample seating outside. We have enjoyed our stay and would recommend both Lawlers Retreat and Sykes Cottages. Thank you for a great holiday.

Many thanks glad you enjoyed!!! Property Owner
