  • "We stayed for 12 nights… the fridge only has an ice box, so very limited freezer space."

The fridge didn’t keep food cold, even when turned on full. Hot tub was a big issue, if it was topped up, it took hours to reheat, and rarely reached full temperature of 40°. The lid was extremely heavy and it was a struggle for 2 adults to replace. This was changed at day three. Towels and bedding was replaced once during the 12 days. The rubbish was still there when we left no bin bags to replace when full. I also felt the hot tub area was extremely dark at night. The cottage itself was nice and with a few adoptions could actually be great.

Dear Yvonne, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your recent stay at Walworth Cottage. We're so glad to hear you enjoyed the cottage itself and we truly appreciate your constructive comments. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered with the fridge and the hot tub. We understand how important both of these are for a comfortable stay, and we’ve now added a fridge/freezer thermometer to ensure the fridge is operating at the correct temperature. Regarding the hot tub, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the heating times and the heavy lid. We’ve already made some changes to improve this, and we’re hopeful future guests will have a much better experience. We also appreciate your feedback about the towels and bedding replacement, as well as the issue with rubbish disposal. We do provide weekly changeovers. However, we do encourage our guests to contact us if a further change is needed. Once again, we are grateful for your input, and we hope to welcome you back soon with a greatly improved experience. • "Beautiful entrance to the castle grounds with great parking at the cottage."

On arrival the cottage was lovely and warm and very welcoming. 2 good size bedrooms and a big bathroom, nice bedding, with plenty of towels. The living area is all in one which is really convenient, the kitchen is well stocked, meaning you have everything you need to cook with plenty of glasses, crockery and cutlery. In the sitting room area of the living quarter there are 2 sofas that are very comfortable and a good size smart tv. Outside is an enclosed yard which is perfect if you have a dog. The hot tub is lovely, sitting at about 40° and very clean. A couple of improvements could be made, but please don't let this put you off. A curtain across the front door would not only make it warmer but if you have the lights on, walking through the hallway at night you feel a little exposed as there is just nets over the large glass front door. A new bath panel and a little silicone would improve the bathroom which is lovely and the lights in the mirror unit need looking at. The top of the hot tub needs a bar to assist with the removal and closing as it is heavy. It's not for everyone but personally a TV in each of the bedrooms would be a great improvement. The above are little improvements in an otherwise beautiful cottage, with lovely grounds to walk around, that we will 100% be booking again. As a side note, I spoke to multiple members of staff while on site and everyone was extremely helpful and friendly, credit to the staff.

  • "This was our 8th visit to this wonderful cottage."

As always the cottage was spotlessly clean and warm. The staff at the hotel are so welcoming and friendly when we picked up the key and had a meal. The enclosed yard is perfect for our small dogs. We love the hot tub which is well maintained. It’s the perfect location for exploring the area and small villages. We loved the new updates to the cottage. Just back and have already booked for next year and can’t wait. Let the countdown begin.
