"Amazing views and beautiful apartment."
The views from this property cannot be overstated; the Abbey framed perfectly in the balcony door, the town rooftops, the whole of the bay, wonderful sunsets, watching the tide come in and out. Sitting on the balcony watching the world go by and listening to the sea. The apartment was large, clean and comfortable, well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, fluffy towels. Clean bathrooms. Great spot as near to town but not in the thick of it. The owners send a very handy guide to the flat (where things are, how appliances etc work, the local area) to you digitally which was a great touch and very handy. There is a lift which is handy for bringing everything in when you first arrive. Otherwise the stately old hotel stairs are easy to go up and down if you have no mobility problems. If you don't know Whitby, the cliffs down to the beach are STEEP; there is a cliff lift but not working when we were there. I think my legs are still tired! The beach is clean, lifeguarded and the sea very clear and calm. Dogs are allowed on certain parts only. High tide comes right in so keep an eye on the tide times. Whitby is absolutely charming and incredibly pretty. However, I have never stayed anywhere in the UK as packed and busy as it was over a sunny, summer holiday weekend. Luckily the flat is away from the hustle and bustle. I recommend walking round early in the morning to get a real feel for it before the crowds arrive. If I visit Whitby again, I would absolutely rent this flat.

"Cairns Vista was a really comfortable spacious flat with views out to sea, towards Sandsend and of Whitby Abbey."
The building was once the best hotel in Whitby - some faded grandeur remains. Shame that there is scaffolding up at the moment and we didn't know this in advance, but shouldn't be up much longer. Stayed with my Mum who has some mobility issues - we were worried sofas would be too low, but actually were OK, she could manage 4 steps between sitting area and kitchen and there is also a walk down two corridors from the lift and a few steps at the main entrance.

"Absolutely gorgeous property with views to die for."
Happily watched my partner surfing from the window! Walking distance from the town. Comfortable beds and sofas. Beautiful kitchen. Memories made forever. We will be back!
-
"A wonderful apartment, very spacious, The kitchen was very well equipped."
The views from the front windows was amazing. Will definitely be booking again. Nice touch having the milk and shortbread biscuits ready on arrival.

"Fabulous apartment in an amazing location."
Been for quite a few years now! Always been great.
-
"Comfortable and clean, well equipped property, in a great location with fabulous views."
-
"Property requires a deep clean."
(Many cobwebs) Inadequate provision of basics - 1 bin bag, no spare, no dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid, hand wash dispensers but no hand wash. All simple things to reduce the hassle at what is a relatively expensive holiday let.
Thank you for your feedback. We were very disappointed to learn about this and are happy to say that we now have a new housekeeper as a result of this feedback who is keeping on top of things. It's really important guests do being issues to owners' attention like this so we can put it right! Property Owner

"Fabulous place in amazing location."
Already booked again for next year.
-
"The listing clearly states parking for 1 car so we spent £39 on advance to obtain parking permit for second vehicle."
With the final details came the information that parking was for 2 cars! Despite the late check in, the property had clearly not had any sort of recent deep clean. No fresh milk provided.

"The location and views were an amazing bonus"

"Great location."
Nice walks into town. Lovely to watch New Years Eve Whitby fireworks from the balcony. Apartment is clean, and very well kitted out. Would definitely return, but would have to think about the cost as it was quite expensive.

"Apartment owners could not do enough to make our Christmas stay exceptional."

"Fabulous accommodation in a fabulous location."
Hard to beat!
-
"Fab, spacious apartment."
5 of us were in Whitby for Musicport and it more than met our needs especially as it was so close to the venue. The apartment was light with great views. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. Communication with the owner and housekeeper was very easy. Would definitely stay there again.
-
"Excellent property in all respects (the views are stunning) however guests will need to provide their own tea, coffee and sugar - the kitchen canisters bearing these labels were empty when I arrived."
Milk is provided in the “Welcome Pack”. Guests will also need to provide their own tablets/powder for the dishwasher (if you want to wash up in the sink liquid detergent is provided) as well as supplying their own powder/liquid for the washing machine. Would stay again. Would definitely recommend.

"This property is outstanding."
Fantastic views over Whitby beach and beyond. So good I booked for next year on the last night we were there.

"All fine"

"Unfortunately I was taken ill before our holiday and would have chosen a venue closer to home through Sykes but we were unable to move our deposit to another property, so we're left with the options of cancelling and losing money or going ahead."
Yes we did have insurance but entering into a claim is an annoying and slow process. I understand why we couldn't move our deposit, but it is frustrating. I thought that Sykes were excellent in all aspects of their management.

"An amazing apartment, the views are fantastic and everything you need within easy reach, including a bar and Chinese restaurant downstairs!"
Loads of space, comfortable seating and beds. Don't be fooled by downstairs entry which has an air of faded grandeur, this building is well kept and efficiently run, can't think of any criticism, we hope to be back and our family visitors want to return with their friends. A 10 minute walk takes you to the centre of Whitby.

"What a great apartment, great location."
Very spacious, everything you need is in this apartment, great Chinese downstairs . Very clean and lovely and warm just like home . Great views from the balcony and windows. Lovely nice touch which was a telescope. Will definitely be returning with our family and friends.

"This property is absolutely stunning."
The pictures on the Sykes website are wholly accurate but really do not do it justice. My husband and I visited with my mum, dad and brother and we were all blown away by just how beautiful Cairns Vista is. Location is perfect just a very short walk from the town and the sea views are just breath taking. It was just a fleeting weekend visit for us - we all wished we were there for longer than 2 night. Top class.

"Cairns Vista is a fabulous place and location."
Stayed there last two years and already booked it for next year! Well recommended.
-
"Lovely apartment has everything you need Only downside are - wasnt properly cleaned, mattresses need renewing, towels hard Sounds as if we are being picky."
We really enjoyed it. The walk across the cliff to Robin Hoods Bay is lovely it does take about 3 hours though, not 2 like it says on google!
-
"Cairns Vista is a fantastic apartment with outstanding views."
The location is perfect and we all had a brilliant time. All the beds were comfy, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and our kids really enjoyed the Jacuzzi bath, they have never asked for a bath so often. The only thing I'd suggest (and this isnt a criticism) is for some plastic plates, bowls and cutlery in the kitchen for those of us with young kids. To be fair most families (not us unfortunately) would remember to bring their own.

"The stunning views over Whitby were the highlight of this flat."
The rooms were spacious and clean and the location was just about perfect for seeing around Whitby, which is a lovely town. Very reasonable price as well for a group of 8 people.
-
"The holiday home was just as advertised with Sykes."
The apartment was everything we expected. It was clean and comfortable. It is a spacious apartment and central to everything we needed. The whole building is in a good and tidy condition. Loved going to sleep to the sounds of the waves right outside, Waking in the morning and seeing the fishing boats leaving the harbour. It is a great place for people of all ages with the addition of the lift if you don't fancy the stairs. I would try and rent it againg if we went to that area again. Lynn Newman

Cannot fault any of it.

"Beautiful apartment Fantastic location Real Home from Home Would definitely recommend A***"
-
"A fabulous location and accommodation."
Everything was booked smoothly and we encountered no problems at all. A very good weekend by all.
-
"The only problem with this rental is the building it is in."
The entrance is very off putting and the corridors and hallways are dirty and shabby. The lift is scary and dirty and needs replacing. There was plaster and paint coming off the walls and the gnral decor was awful. The apartment had just been decorated so it was lovely and clean but the window frames were caked in gloss paint so only a couple of them could be opened as the paint stuck them together The place itself was really nice and I would go again.
