  • "Beautiful house, very comfortable with everything we needed, clear instructions for how things worked."

The beds were soooo comfy and my daughter loved having her own bathroom on the top floor. It’s perfectly situated very close to the main town and a few minutes walk to the sea and abbey. The view of the abbey from the bedroom is wonderful, especially when it was lit up on our last night. We managed to find a parking spot on St Hilda’s Terrace, and it was fine to leave the car there for three days. There are sometimes parking wardens who are really helpful if you need to ask questions. We did initially park further away then moved in the evening when some people had left.

  • "Excellent cottage, well equipped and very comfortable."

The only downside was a distinct smell of stale soot from the chimney/fireplaces. Otherwise excellent.

The fixture and fittings are to a very high standard and the decor is perfect for this little hideaway. I would 100% recommend this cottage and would definitely stay here again 5 ⭐️

  • "Fabulous cottage that has been done to an exceptionally high standard."

The decor, colour, furnishings, lighting all as I would do myself. The extension to the back of the cottage for the kitchen is fabulous. The kitchen has everything you need. I bought things with me that I have needed in other rental cottages and didn't even unpack. The cleanliness is amazing. Who ever maintains the cottage has a very high cleaning standard. A lovely welcome pack was in the kitchen. Two en-suites were beautifully decorated with high end fixtures & fittings. The seating at the side and small courtyard at the back was a great addition. We loved the location. We have been visiting this area for years and adored how tucked away BlueFin is but actually right in the middle of everything. Parking can be tricky but we knew this beforehand but I always managed to park easily (& that was in July). And finally.......that view from the 2nd floor bedroom ! (I just wish the window was floor to ceiling so I could have enjoyed it more.) We will definitely be back and I would move in and live there in a a heartbeat.

  • "We booked this cottage 2 days before our holiday due to a last minute problem the cottage we had already booked."

Feel like we really struck gold with Bluefin. Immaculate, very well furnished and appointed inside. Looks like we were the first to rent it out since a full refurb. Location is great, just off Flowergate and close to town but really quiet and private. Good outside space which the photos don’t do justice. Wifi was very slow so maybe bring a radio and an Ariel. There is a bit of a residual smoke smell from the downstairs fireplace but these are the only negatives with this place unless you’re against having a toilet in the living room. They have an iron, ironing board and maiden that aren’t listed. Everything you need and more in the kitchen. The view from the upstairs bedroom is amazing; you don’t even have to get out of bed to appreciate it. We will definitely be booking Bluefin again for our next trip to Whitby.
