  • "A great little appartment to stay in to enjoy the delights of Whitby, within easy walking distance of everything."

The car park pass made parking simple, and also easy to travel into and out of Whitby to explore further afield.

  • "We were in Whitby for the folk week."

The cottage was ideally situated for the events of interest to us.Some people comment of issues with the stairs but we didn't have any problems even carrying instruments. Seen much worse in Whitby. The windows look out over a busy street but noise was not an issue. The Sykes listing is wrong in two key facts - access time is not 5pm. The cottage documents show earlier than this but it is too late to know after travelling. It would be good to get a text on the arrival day to say that the cottage is ready for us, Further, leave time is a more conventional 10am, not 9 per the website. We were nearly put off booking by the incorrect times. Secondly the listing refers to permit parking nearby so one thinks of the scratch cards but the cottage has a permit to use at West Cliff car park for the duration of the stay. The property has a very well appointed: kitchen which had all required appliances except perhaps a tea strainer. Cupboards full of more glasses, mugs and plates that you ever would need in an accommodation this size. Sink drainer stand not the right size for the crockery though. Furniture is looking a bit battered but comfy enough. There are no fewer than 3 tvs but we did not use having the folk week entertainment Bedrooms are a bit tight for space and we had to move the twin beds across to be able to open the wardrobes. The beds are OK. Access to the bathroom is down 2 steep steps and in the middle of the night one really needs a hand rail to navigate safely. Slippers recommended as the steps dig into bare feet. The walk in shower is good but the operation is very stiff. Although there is a warning in the handbook you haven't read that in the shower on arrival. Better still just sort it. Nice towels but no where to dry them. The radiators are too close to the wall to hang them on. Please provide a heated towel rail.

The apartment is very spacious the photos don’t do it justice. It’s very clean and well looked after. Other people have mentioned the shower but we had no problems with it. The only thing it’s missing is children cutlery and plates. We are looking forward to visiting again.

  • "Stayed in Whitby many times."

The Seahorse was really excellent accommodation based over two levels which may be a consideration if you are less mobile than we are. Spotlessly clean great kitchen well equipped and nice to have a dinning area. Great added bonus a resident parking space for up near the leisure centre a five minute walk away. In a great area with an excellent fish and chip shop on Silver Street pubs bars and of course the wonderful Bothams bakery and tea rooms. Would recommend Seahorses and we will definitely be returning later in the year.

  • "We were pleased to see Seahorse when we were looking to stay in Whitby."

We have stayed there and in the other 2 apartments in the building previously when they were owned by someone else. Seahorse is perfectly located for everything and the apartment provides you with plenty of space to relax and spread out. We really enjoyed our stay and have booked again for next year. The stairs up to apartment certainly give you a work out so if you're not too good on your feet there's no lift to get you upstairs so something to bear in mind. Thank you for sharing your apartment with us all.

It is ideally situated for everything Whitby and the surrounding area has to offer. Our main requirements of a holiday property apart from the location are cleanliness, being well equipped and comfortable. This property ticks all the boxes.

  • "This is the 3rd time we have stayed here and once again was really enjoyable with a good central location."

The only problem with the less-abled would be the stairs as the apartment is on the 1st floor. One thing which was not to our liking is the policy of cannot check-in until 5pm and must be out by 9am on the day of departure.

Thank you again for your booking Dave. We do try to make amendments when we receive feedback and agree that the arrival and departure times could be different - so we have changed these to 4pm arrival and 10am departure. We hope you stay at Seahorse again in the future, all the best Kerry & Robert Property Owner

In need of a bit of TLC eg Toilet seat needs replacing or fixing as many people have said in visitors book , it was like that 2 years ago, shower head kept sliding down shower rail, no shelf to put toiletries in shower The shower its self is great, kitchen tiles need grouting at back of sink, black mould Great location

Hiccups with shower for first week which were all solved. Central Heating behaving very well this year. Still dislike the lack of privacy as the property is overlooked from property across the road. Office blinds or even nets would make an amazing difference.

...solved by family member through Sykes. We were very happy with our 2 week stay at Seahorse. Personally would like window blinds as very open to property opposite. However, we are today hopefully about to re book for October 2022. Wish to thank the property owners for their patient assistance with our inability to use the key safe, not having used this method previously. Thankyou.

We loved the layout and were really pleased with the location. Not having stayed in Whitby before we were unsure where the location was but it was great with everything within a 3-5 minute walk. The parking pass was an added bonus and also the fact you could get a 1hr parking zone for unloading and loading was definitely an added bonus. The Granby Public House just up the road does really good food, very reasonably priced and good real ales.
