  • "We find the flat very comfortable and well designed for two people."

Good views and a nice welcome pack

  • "On arrival couldn't access accommodation as wasn't given adequate instructions on use of electronic key pad."

Had to ring land lord for instructions. All drainage on handbasin and shower took forever to drain away, tap on kitchen sink kept falling off landlord said problem was ongoing but it didn't fix problem. Tv was unwatchable as it was constantly freezing or buffering. View of sea was obscured by very dirty windows. Also doormat on entry was a trip hazard. We have always been happy with sykes properties in the past but this one took the shine off our holiday. Especially as it was on the expensive side. So wouldn't recommend this property to anyone.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay, everything in there what we needed, comfortable, relaxed, great location, just slight misunderstanding with the entry codes, but saying that, we made one phone call and it was sorted out, apart from that we would stay again."

  • "Overall a very good holiday."

Excellent location in the centre of whitby. Sea views from the living space. Very comfy sofa. Parking space was very useful (but would not be suitable for large cars). Lots of storage space. High quality toiletries provided. Really useful to have a washer/dryer. There were a few things that could be improved. Mattress was quite hard. No teatowel provided and the ovengloves had a hole in them. Kitchen tap handle repeatedly came off. And the blanket on the bed was dirty when I arrived. Overall I would stay there again but fixing these small details would improve the stay.

Well appointed with absolutely everything you could need and best of all the views out to sea. We will definitely be booking a return trip.

That’s lovely to hear, so pleased you were happy with everything. Thank you for the comment, it is much appreciated Property Owner

  • "Sunset View is a lovely, appartment with amazing views, everything was there, that you need to cook meals etc."

The TV has Netflix and you can access other channels via that n sign into BBC Iplayer etc. The appartment was spotlessly clean barr a few cobwebs we found above the bed but we sorted that ourselves and the patio table outside needed a good clean but apart from those two minor issues, everything was great and we have booked again for next year.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Sunset view, its small but more than adequate for two people."

The Welcome pack was a nice a nice touch and very much appreciated. Information on how to work the television might be a good idea as we did struggle a bit but managed in the end. Having no window in the bedroom was a slight drawback but we did know this before booking and it certainly would not stop us booking Sunset View again

  • "Sunset View is in a great location on the West Cliff, where everything we wanted was only a short walk away."

The main entrance to the building needs some attention decor wise. Also, the main door was very hard to shut properly & I hurt my wrist after a week of doing that several times a day. Once inside, the apartment is nice. It was clean and contained all that we needed to make our stay pleasant. There was a welcome pack too which was a thoughtful touch. A few things did need sorting - the kitchen mixer tap kept falling off and one of the blinds was broken so we couldn’t shut it at night (people do walk past staring in so we didn’t like that). Also, we found the bed mattress really uncomfortable. It was very soft and ‘bouncy’ and you sort of rolled to the edge when you lay down. We had very poor sleep while we were there. My main disappointment was not being able to fully appreciate the fantastic views we had from our kitchen/lounge windows. We could only see them through s haze of dirt. The windows were filthy and had clearly not been cleaned for a long time. There was a window cleaner doing his rounds the week we were there but he didn’t visit Sunset View… So there were good things & not so good things. We come to Whitby every year so have stayed in quite a few different properties. We probably wouldn’t stay here again due to the bed and because we have stayed in other cottages/flats that have been more spacious or comfy at a cheaper price.

Had musty odour. Full winter quilt in the hottest summer on record, no window in bed room felt like a box.Beautiful views Rest of the building in poor repair, and Shower almost ran over as drainage was poor. And the worst thing had to do hair and makeup in a cupboard for my sons wedding.

  • "This is a great apartment to view the sunsets each evening when they occur (appropriately named SunSet View)."

We were very fortunate that during our stay we were able to see on most evening a lovely sunset from our apartment window. The apartment is well situated to explore not only Whitby but many of the other places within easy reach by car, bus or train or if you are into walking some lovely walks around and in Whitby. The apartment was lovely but if you enter by the back door don't be put off having to walk through to the first floor. Parking at the rear of the property is very tight (not suitable for bigger cars). There is a lot of refurbishment of properties going on so expect work vehicles but the builders were very accomodating in moving their vehicles to let us in and out of the parking slots. There is also 3 hours free disc parking at the front of the property.

  • "From the booking of Sunset View Whitby, this property is outstanding."

Location is brilliant with sea views and outstanding views of the coastline. The property itself has it own parking area at the rear of the building. Key code entry to front and back of property. Once entering the property itself there is nothing but quality. Lounge/kitchen - Settee which has views to the sea and coast line, tv to watch ,with everything you could watch, Internet, kitchen and all mod-cons. Leading from out of lounge is then the bathroom with electric shower, sink with electric mirror. Then the bedroom with double bed and walk in clothes cupboard for two. There was a gift pack left fir us by the owners witch was outstanding. Food to start you off, ie: milk, bread, tea/coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, butter etc and a couple of bottles of prosecco, and budweiser. Bedroom, towels and bathrobes and toiletries were left very outstanding indeed. I Would Certainly Recommend any couple wishing or looking at Sunset View this property not to hesitate, you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back. ☆☆☆☆☆
