  • "Great location, very comfortable and clean with everything you need."

Really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely stay here again. Dave, Sue and Honey the greyhound.

Thankyou for the lovely feedback. You would be most welcome to return. Hope Honey enjoyed the beach. Property Owner

  • "Great little property but wouldn't recommend for anyone with mobility issues."

However if you do not have mobility issues it's well placed, easy to get into town and is a nice place with good amenities. The master bedroom bed is too hard for my liking but that's obviously personal preference. Everything was clean and everything worked. There were some stones on the mantle piece so we added one from our collection.

Thanks for your kind words Michael and thankyou for your gift. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is lovely and within walking distance from the centre of Whitby and the abbey."

(5 - 10 minutes) Yes the car park is steep but this is detailed in the listing. We have a compact suv so navigated the car park ok. We found it very clean on arrival and the space was just perfect for what we needed.

Thankyou Sally. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "This is an excellent cottage with all you need."

We would love to stay there again if it was in a lower position in Whitby. This is due to us having poor mobility

Thankyou for your 5* review Christine. It can be tricky for people with mobility issues. We find that walking up the footpath towards the Abbey and down the steps near the donkey field is the easiest way into town. Property Owner

  • "The Cottage is comfortable and well maintained ."

Very clean and the Crockery and Cutlery were immaculate. Ideally situated for the Town Centre although the steep incline to The Harbour could be a problem for some Guests..The only downside was The Parking .Our Car is not very high off the ground so I did not chance the steep incline to the allocated Parking space . I did however find a Parking space on The Ropery about 100 yards away which was fine. All in all a great Property and good location.

Thanks for your review David. The parking space is tricky but there is usually some space on the Ropery as you’ve discovered. Property Owner

The drive to the property was dangerous as in a broken driveway and the cleaners turned up 30 mins before and had an attitude I will not be going back

You asked if you could check out late, which unfortunately we could not accommodate due to another party checking in the same day. The cleaners did not arrive early, they were on time. Neighbours also told us that you were swearing at the cleaners which we do not find acceptable. The drive is steep, which we are aware of and is confirmed in the listing. Property Owner

  • "Cottage is in perfect location with short walk to harbour."

( maybe not for someone with walking difficulties) Drive is a bit tricky but a rare plus for location. I’d recommend max 3 adults for space and comfort. Cottage was clean and well equipped, beds were comfy and we slept very well. We would highly recommend this cottage as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay

  • "Very enjoyable stay but a few pointers."

Insructions for use of TV are not correct. If you follow instructions on card it says to use source button and scroll fown and highlight scart, incorrect. TV will only show channel on HDMI 1, HDMI 2 is for the X box with which to watch either Netflix or Youtube. Also it should be mentioned that to watch Netflix you need to have your account password to use and although I use an X box at home I feel lots of people will struggle using the controller to complete any tasks ! Sky is only for the WiFi, not anything else even though this is written down on the card !!! Also feel that the bench outside and the patio could do with a jetwash as after any rain the floor is quite slippy and even after wiping feet it's difficult not to walk ang Green slime in, the bench suffers from this as well, staining your clothes! All in all a very nice, cosy and comfortable cottsge in an ideal location. Thank you, Linda.

  • "Loved the apartment and location."

. The only downside is the parking which is quite awkward. Although there is a parking bay it's awful to get down to. One day there were 2 cars parked in 1 bay and my husband really struggled getting out. Really needs to state on each bay that only 1 car can be parked there. It also needs levelling off and resurfacing, as the bottom of our car hit the uneven surface quite a few times.
