  • "Truly fabulous property that lived up to all expectations."

Location excellent and all facilities exceeded what we were expecting. Thank you for a wonderful stay

  • "Couldn’t fault the house we stayed at only a 15/20 minute Walk to Whitby town, I should mention that my wife uses a wheel chair and I am 72 and found the walk acceptable and a pleasurable and managed the stairs to the first floor kitchen and living room but sometimes with the help of our Daughter, son-in-law and grandsons just something to think about but we found it well worth it."

If we get the chance to go to Whitby again this house would be the first place we consider using again health permitting.

  • "House was lovely and in a very good location."

Could have been a bit cleaner - bed linen and cupboards. Could also have done with more waste/recycling facilities indoors.

  • "Fabulous 3 story home and everything we needed for a relaxing stay."

Loved the welcome bag of Yorkshire goodies (thank you) and a pint of milk in the fridge. Great to be able to park on the drive with space for 2 cars and visitor spaces across the road. We enjoyed lovely walks around Whitby and along the river and over the viaduct along the cinder track. Local fish and chip shop near by which was nice. Lovely to sit on the terrace of the fleece pub in the sunshine and The Whitby brewery next to the Abbey. We also ventured out to Scarborough, Pickering and Malton. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and book again.

  • "A fabulous place to stay with everything you need, tastefully decorated and a well appointed kitchen."

A great bonus of having the garage space downstairs for wet gear and separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Plenty of hot water & heating, showers were excellent. Wifi network is different as stated, so guest information pack should be updated accordingly. Dedicated parking outside for two cars and visitor spaces opposite. About 15 minutes walk into town and near to an excellent chipshop (Riverside Fisheries) and the Middle Earth tavern. Overall an excellent holiday, would totally recommend this venue as a place to stay. We are returning Sykes customers, and can not fault their service, finally the Welcome Pack was a lovely touch - much appreciated by the guests!

Lovely accommodation, major issue after the first night, Boiler exploded, leaving us with no heating or running hot water, however as Sykes couldn’t find us any alternative accommodation within a 20 mile radius, we stayed and bought some electric fan heaters, the property had two electric showers so that wasn’t an issue, but no running water or central heating, very disappointing, we was offered a 10% good will gesture, no sky or apps, but free view, issue with WiFi also

  • "Lovely few days (Mon-Fri) at Keel House."

Good location. Added bonus of parking. Visitor/extra parking opposite. Ample crockery, glasses etc., even a coffee machine. All clean & tidy. Furnishings good quality. Just a couple of minor things that we found, no terrestrial channels on the TV - had fun trying to sort it out! - missed Freeview, but that could just be us and left roller blind in kitchen needs cord reattaching to wheel, therefore doesn’t pull up or down when we came to close it. All in all an excellent place to stay and the added bonus of a lovely welcome goody bag with local products - went down a treat. Would definitely recommend.

  • "We enjoyed our stay at Keel House and our 3 grandchildren enjoyed playing in the play area at the back of the house."

We walked into the town and left our cars in the parking places for the whole time which was very useful as on a hot weekend Whitby is very busy and there isn’t a lot of parking. Beds very comfortable. We would definitely book again if we were going to Whitby. Thanks for the lovely goodie bag too!

Everything you require for your stay. The only thing that is a negative is the patio area could do with cleaning and furniture updating, garden gate was very difficult to open.

Lovely local pub nearby to give a welcome break for walk into town. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you very much. Just left a couple of very minor maintenance points for owners to pick up on for future guests in visitor book. Thank you for a lovely break in Whitby

  • "Our stay at Keel House was very enjoyable."

We live in a bungalow, so a property with 3 floors seemed a bit daunting at first.. On arrival, the house was clean and warm. Sykes Cottages informed us of all the procedures, so we had no problems. There's lots of cutlery and crockery, pans etc. A goody bag on arrival was a nice surprise. It is about a 10/15 minute walk into the town, so that was helpful. As we now have an electric car, the electric charging point at the property is a must. The weather was quite good, so all in all, we had a delightful break.

Well equipped. Had read my new book from home and was going to exchange with a book in Keel House ,but was stamped inside not to remove so had to go and buy another as would not have time to finish it. Think most people would prefer to exchange books. The sculpture trail picture in the hallway was also a interesting touch

The blinds & lamps in the downstairs bedroom were dusty though (maybe a little more attention to the cleaning of these) everywhere else was perfect though. Some tongs in the kitchen utensils would have been handy also. Otherwise a lovely property and would use it again.
