The loading and unloading of our suitcases at the cottage was also very good, parking minutes away with, parking tickets supplied by the owners. We look forward to a return visit. Molly and Malc

  • "We did enjoy our stay at Madeline’s View but we were a little disappointed by the exact location (above the noisy arcade) & wished we had maybe check that out more as we had never visited Whitby before."

Getting our bags from the car to the cottage was really tricky despite being fit for our age (65) Also we were unable to work the heating & we did feel cold indoors in the evenings.

Thank you for your feedback on your recent stay at Madeline’s View. We appreciate your comments and are glad that you enjoyed your time with us. However, we were surprised by your remarks regarding cleanliness, as we work closely with our professional cleaning team who have assured us that the property was thoroughly and properly cleaned before your arrival. We take great pride in maintaining high standards, and we are confident that the cottage was prepared to our usual standard. We also wonder if your comments may be referring to the general environment of Whitby, which, as a vibrant seaside town, can be lively and a bit messy at times. Regarding your comments about noise, we would like to clarify that while Whitby is known for its bustling atmosphere with plenty of entertainment, Madeline’s View is generally a peaceful retreat, and the most common sounds are those of the seagulls. We strive to provide a tranquil space amidst the town's lively surroundings, and it is rare that our guests experience any disruptive noise inside the cottage. We do apologise for the issue you experienced with the heating, but we understand that sometimes things don't go as planned. We wish you had contacted us or Sykes using the phone numbers provided in the welcome pack, as we would have promptly addressed the problem to ensure your comfort during your stay. Finally, we understand that Whitby's unique layout can sometimes pose challenges, especially if you're unfamiliar with the area. We do our best to provide accurate information about the location in our directions information to help guests make an informed choice. Thank you again for staying with us, and we do hope to welcome you back in the future. Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us improve our services. • "A lovely cottage with great views over Whitby harbour."

A life saver having milk in the fridge as we forgot to pick some up on the way. Madeleine's view had everything we needed for a short stay. Would love to stay again but the only slight niggle is a 4.00pm arrival time, which I missed on booking.

Thank you for your kind review! We're glad you enjoyed the views and appreciated the little touches like the milk. We’ll certainly take your feedback about the arrival time into consideration. We'd love to welcome you back! Property Owner

  • "Yet again an absolutely amazing stay at this cottage!"

It’s like home from home! We went at a fantastic time of year as there was lots to do! The only snag I have is maybe we should have been made aware of the parking restrictions for our first 3 days as we had to pay to park in the long stay car park. Again not a problem but it is a little costly and we could have park there from our time of arrival! But other than that thank you again for an extra holiday in an absolutely beautiful cottage.

Thank you for another wonderful review and for staying with us again! We're so happy to hear that the cottage feels like a home away from home for you and that you had another amazing stay. We apologise for the inconvenience regarding the parking restrictions and appreciate your feedback, however we'll try to make sure to provide clearer information for future guests. Despite that, we're thrilled you had a great holiday, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Thank you once again for your kind words. Property Owner

  • "We were a little concerned when we pulled up outside the fun city arcade however once we turned up the stone steps and into Madeline’s we entered another world."

The flat was perfect and the only noise was seagulls. It would be helpful to leave the visitors information out as we didn’t find it until the last day. The flat is comfortable and well equipped. The views are amazing, we saw a harbour seal while eating at the table. Take your own binoculars if you enjoy bird wildlife watching. We did the railway to Pickering ( note no toilet at station, cafe at station served the worst coffee I ever had, wait till you are on the train). Also walked from Whitby to robin hoods bay, a big walk but fabulous views, we had a lovely 3 night break

Thank you for your lovely review of your stay at Madeline's View and that the property met your expectations. We appreciate your feedback about the visitor information, we'll make sure information easier to find for future guests. The views truly are amazing, and we're glad you got to experience the wildlife and local activities. We hope to welcome you back for another wonderful stay! Property Owner

  • "Very happy with Madelines View."

Very cosy with everything there you might need, excellent location, all within walking distance and amazing views from every window. If there was a downside and I'm being picky, the parking, although we did manage to park outside to unload, it was a bit of a struggle to get in as it was really busy along the front, had to drive round a few times before we could park. After unloading there was a parking space up the top. The main bedroom mattress was quite hard, might be great for some, but not for us, we managed to put something underneath and it was only for a couple of nights not sure it would have been OK for a week. All in all had a lovely stay there and in Whitby.

Thank you for your positive feedback. We're very happy that you enjoyed Madeline's View, the cozy ambiance, and the excellent location. We appreciate your comments on the parking and mattress, and we always look into customers comments. Glad you had a lovely stay and we hope you come back again. John & Noreen Property Owner
