  • "We had a really lovely stay at Sunset View."

The photos really do not do the view justice, the Abbey is visible from the sofa perfectly! Lovely layout and everything you could need or want is included. Parking is a massive bonus in Whitby, and wasn't too tricky for us as the carpark wasn't full, I imagine it can be a bit of a squeeze in peak season, but not impossible. The bed and linen was extremely comfortable, however me and my other half found the bed a little small (but we are a bit taller than most!) Bathroom extractor fan also seemed out of action. It didn't cause us any issues, but long term could be a problem so worth mentioning. A really wonderful stay and would recommend Sunset View in a heartbeat. Thank you!

  • "Sunset View is a lovely apartment, has everything you need."

The views are amazing, the decor is great and it is well maintained. There is plenty of crockery and cooking essentials. The lift is a bonus. Can’t fault anything about our stay. Hoping to stay again soon.

Views better than expected. Easy walk into town. Well equipped kitchen large fridge/freezer very useful. I did leave a note advising of a couple of things not working (probably a blown fuse) Would happily stay here again.

  • "Sunset View is a brilliant place to stay, can't really fault anything without being picky!"

The apartment has everything you might expect, it's a real home from home with most creature comforts to hand and is very well equipped. Being on the top floor of The Union Mill building it has great views across the Whitby rooftops to the Abbey and the sea beyond. We didn't get to use the balcony as the weather was quite cool and blustery during our stay, though we could imagine sitting out there on a warm summers evening. Two real benefits of Sunset View are having a lift to whisk you up to the apartment after a good day exploring Whitby and having an allocated parking space on site. Overall a big thumbs up!

  • "Very nice apartment."

Central to beach and town. Lots to see and do....including bus to Middlesbrough outside apartment goes to beautiful Sandsend a short bus ride away. At the bus station a coast liner bus takes you to Pickering via the most beautiful countryside. Nicer and quieter shops and pubs are a short walk from flat. Further afield is the busier part of Whitby. Apartment is stunning with lovely bedrooms, comfortable and clean. Only small problem, for some could be I feel, the car park is suitable for a small car only. We were lucky to get a free spot outside the front. However, there are very few free spots. 3 cushions in the lounge I thought odd. There is a pretty coastal theme and 2 brown fur cushions in lounge. Maybe an update is needed here. Although apartment very clean and lovely, maybe I am fussy....but steam clean couch and chairs in lounge?

  • "Absolutely lovely apartment."

Very clean, bright, comfortable and very nice furnishings. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into what is needed. It was our first visit to Whitby and we were so pleased at how well placed the apartment is! So handy for everything and the parking space was great. We parked the car and then walked or took the bus which was brilliant. Balcony is a massive bonus which we used a lot as we were very fortunate with the weather. Will definitely stay again. We really didn't want to leave!

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Sunset View."

The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony during the sunny spells of weather. The view towards the abbey is lovely, especially at dawn and dusk. The car parking space was very much appreciated. We loved the town of Whitby - there is so much to do. We went on boat trips, guided walks (ghost and Dracula themed), visited museums, the lobster hatchery, the beach (look out for fossils, seals and dolphins!), the shops and of course the abbey. We would 100% recommend this apartment to others wanting to explore the area. Thank you for a wonderful holiday base.

  • "The apartment is lovely, the twin bedroom definitely needs a hanging rail the same as the double bedroom, there was only one person staying in there for our holiday ( a week) but if there had been two there would not have been enough storage, also the rail in the bathroom is rusting and looks unkept."

Everything else is to a lovely standard.

  • "Only half a toilet roll in bathroom."

Always had one complete ( at least) wherever we stayed before. All outdoor furniture fastened up on balcony. We had sunny days and evenings but we couldn't sit out. If outdoor furniture is only available certain months of the year it should state that in description. One of main reasons for booking was use of balcony, my husband is slightly immobile and was really looking forward to sitting and looking over whitby. Car park an absolute nightmare, space so difficult to get into. Key entry difficult from car park, other people including residents said it often doesn't work . Very disappointed , I've been booking with Sykes for many years, this is first time I've felt let down, we won't be going back there and I won't recommend to friends.

Thank you for your feedback your observations have been noted. With regards to the outdoor furniture you will appreciate the weather is not always kind and it is a necessity to have the outside furniture secured. It is available to use all year but we are sorry that you found it difficult to remove the fastenings, had you called the local office we could have helped. Property Owner

The parking is appallingly tight (especially with neighbours not parking correctly !) and the lack of a wardrobe makes the bedroom feel unkempt and temporary) apart from those two things however excellent apartment and extremely well situated

Very comfortable and warm. Comfy sofa, chairs and beds. Everything required was provided. Lift and bus stop right outside door are a boon to people of a certain age and people with limited mobility. Balcony and secure car parking space a real bonus.

  • "Excellent accommodation."

Bright and airy furnishings providing everything we needed. The secure parking and roof top terrace were much appreciated. The location is ideal being mid-way between the town and the West Cliff area. We have re-booked for next already. The only negatives were the too warm mattress toppings, the sluggish water pressure in the shower and the lack of instructions for operating the blinds in the main room. Support from Fiona at Yorkshire Coastal Cottages was superb.

This elevated open plan apartment is up there with the best, it is light , airey and extremely well equipped and spotlessly clean all round. The beds are very comfortable and the towels are soft and fluffy. The walk down to Whitby harbour takes approximately 10 minutes, but be aware the walk back is inclined. However this apartment is highly recommended and a return visit for sure.Total satisfaction.
