  • "The Grange is a fabulous place to stay and I would highly recommend it, especially if you're looking for a dog friendly location."

It's an imposing Victorian property which has been renovated to a high standard and is in a superb location. It's just a short walk from the village of Goathland with its lovely tearooms, it has views of the North Yorkshire Moors and easy access to countryside walks, and the wonderful NYMR steam railway runs nearby. The house, which adjoins the owners' home, is spacious, clean and well appointed throughout. A huge highlight for us though, was the beautiful, large garden which surrounds the property, and was a pleasure to wander or to just sit and enjoy, especially as we had such fantastic weather during our stay. Our dog loved roaming and playing in it each day (and the owners' delightful dog Ava was a bonus playmate). We would love to return.

  • "Great place, great hosts."

Only slight drawback was the wifi signal in the living room was weak or non existent at times. Kitchen was far better. Most of us accessed newspapers or digital services by tablet. Nonetheless we all had a great time

Thank you for your kind review. Apologies for the poor signal. It is one of our challenges living in the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors and we are always looking out for options to improve signal in this area. Rest assured if an improved service is made available we will definitely sign up to it. Best wishes from Lesley and Ken Property Owner

  • "The Grange is absolutely stunning!"

A beautifully converted spacious 'servants' quarter', except you rather feel like the Lord of the manor! The kitchen is a dream and we enjoyed using the patio and garden. The very nice owners live next door. We were greeted with a lovely welcome basket (home made muffins!) and everything is in top shape. The moors and the coast are within a short drive's distance, there even is a bus service and basic amenities in the village. The surrounding landscape is glorious.

Thank you so much for your kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. You even had lovely weather!! We hope to welcome you back again in the future. Best wishes, Lesley and Ken Property Owner

  • "The property was exactly what we wanted for the stay we had in mind."

The owners went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, including a nice welcome pack gift. Our dogs loved the garden, and playing with Ava, the resident miniature schnauzer! The Kitchen was very well stocked with quality appliances and utensils. Everything was clean and high spec, beds are very comfy, and the sunset is spectacular! We will definately be back! Thank you, Lesley & Ken. You have a beautiful place!

Hello. Thank you for your kind comments. Glad you enjoyed your stay and saw the lovely sunset. Ava is missing your dogs Hendrix and Ubba. She has been looking for them in the gardens. Look forward to welcoming you back soon. X Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our recent stay at The Grange."

The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and well equipped. The view to the rear was lovely and whilst we didn’t use it during our stay the property’s garden was very pretty and available for use by guests. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and much appreciated. One minor point was there was no full length mirror in the main bedroom (perhaps put one on the inside of the wardrobe door). Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend to friends. We felt the photos did not do it justice as the property was much nicer than it appeared in the photos. Thank you for our lovely stay

Thank you for your review. So pleased you had a nice stay at The Grange. We are in the process of updating the photos now the trees are in leaf and flowering. We will certainly put in full length mirror as that’s a great suggestion. Many thanks Property Owner

Hosts were lovely, very helpful and welcoming, House beautiful, rooms much bigger than what they look like on photos, beds were amazing, very comfortable and the shower was the best shower ever! Kitchen has all we could possible need, appliances were brand new and the Welcome basket was a lovely touch. Our children loved it here, huge garden and a play park just up the road. Great location! We walked from the grange to the mallyan spout hotel then fown a track to mallyan spout then to thomas fos, beautiful walk would recommend - anyone wants to see this walk check out the walking girl on Instagram (thats where we found the route) we then had lunch at Inn on Moor which was lovely and dog friendly.

A simply exceptional residence, The Grange accommodates up to six people and appeals to families/ friends looking to escape everything and experience a fabulous holiday in this rural part of the country. After a day of walking on the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, make yourself comfortable on the sofas in the sitting room, around the wood burning stove and TV, and enjoy the homely feel. Carry on the conversation in the kitchen/diner, finished in a country style with a run of wooden units and a centered dining table, here you can prepare and enjoy meals in each other's company. The first bedroom situated downstairs, offers a king-size bed, along with a sleek shower room, whilst upstairs, a further two rooms, a double with en-suite bathroom and the other offering twin single beds. The welcoming village of Goathland has what you need to enjoy a memorable stay in North Yorkshire, from its charming tea rooms to its well-stocked village store and the renowned Aidensfield Stores, made famous by its appearance on the Heartbeat TV series.

Goathland benefits from a regular bus service running between Whitby and York voted the most scenic bus route in the country. Hop on board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which runs between Pickering and Whitby and is featured as Hogsmeade Station in the well-known Harry Potter film series, where you can sit back and enjoy a scenic ride through the vast moorlands.
