  • "Nice wee flat but could be doing with being deep cleaned."

Particularly the carpet, windows. Toilet bowl and toilet brush oven tray and nooks and crannies. The decor is pleasant and bright and the bed frame ,bannister and door rail are beautifully hand crafted workmanship. Although the bottom of the balcony is a bit too open for my wee dogs to be safe. All in all it is a comfy wee flat that with a good clean could be excellent. We did enjoy our stay .

Thank you very much for your feedback. We have shared this with our cleaning company and all of the cleaning issues you raised have been addressed. We have also inserted an additional bar to the bottom of the Juliette balcony. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

  • "The Loft was a fantastic base for our holiday, the wine and biscuits were appreciated after our long drive."

The location is great, the only reason we didn't give 5 stars is the lack of WiFi, the Vodafone mobile WiFi did not connect to the Internet at all during our week and since my mobile network was terrible we hardly had and connectivity during our stay. An upgrade of the WiFi would make it a 5* accommodation.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are sorry about poor connectivity you experienced during your stay. We have now replaced the mobile WiFi and have a landline and BT total broadband. Property Owner

  • "No key safe."

New fire door installed with coded handle. Code didn't work to get in to the apartment. Fire escape out of use. Felt vulnerable as the work installed around the fire door didn't comply to fire regs

Thank you for your feedback, we are very sorry about the fault with the new coded lock which did mean you had to use the key that we provided during your stay. The lock has now been replaced. We are also very sorry to hear that you felt vulnerable during your stay, however we were reassured after speaking to you that this was not because the work was not complaint but because the work was not quite complete. The work is now complete and decorated and all of the works comply with fire regulations, furthermore a new fire alarm system has been installed throughout the whole building in late 2020, this is managed and maintained by east coast fire services. • "The apartment was really well presented and ideal for a short or longer stay."

On arrival we were greeted with wine, chocolates and milk in the fridge. The apartment, as described, is at the top of the building, which we enjoyed. We also had the added comfort of a fire escape in case of an emergency. Had the pleasure of meeting the owners who were very helpful. Very dog friendly, designated beaches even in high season. Great location - walked to Robin Hoods Bay on the Cleveland Way and also in the other direction we walked to Sandsend, Kettleness and Runswick Bay - catching the bus back.

Enter the property through the communal entrance, and up the four flights of stairs, through your own front door and past the unique wrought-iron sea-themed banister adorned with iron fish.

An open-plan living space awaits you, benefiting from large windows overlooking the neighbouring buildings, where you can sit at the breakfast bar looking out with your morning coffee.

The kitchen space is compact but well-positioned for its size, and contains the appliances you need for a self-catering break, such as an electric oven and hob, microwave, small fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher.

A Smart TV sits on the wall opposite the plush two-seat sofa, for when you want to unwind in front a film or TV show in the evening.

When night falls you can turn in to the quirky bedroom, home to a bespoke wrought iron bed frame, in-keeping with the seaside theme, it's a work of art on its own, with sloping ceilings, you can nestle down in this unique room for the night.

If you are wondering how to spend your time in Whitby, then fear not as there is plenty to do, why not wander over to the Captain Cook Memorial Museum to understand more of the town's fascinating past?

Or visit the Dracula Experience on the seafront where you can learn of its connection to the town.

If the four flights of stairs at The Loft isn't enough, then climb the famous 199 steps up to Whitby Abbey, for a spectacular viewpoint and a chance to walk around the beautiful ruins which overlook the town.

Among all of this is of course the many beaches, quirky streets and independent businesses that you could dedicate days to walking around.

The Loft is a unique apartment, with an individual flair that would be the perfect location for a romantic break to Whitby.
