  • "The house was cosy and well situated for the town."

It was clean, warm, and had all the facilities you might need on holiday. It had clearly been maintained to an excellent standard. The only problems were that it was very difficult to find on arrival, and parking and access was problematic throughout the stay.

The inner courtyard was really nice and great for morning coffee. The kitchen was well equipped but could do with a bigger freezer-we ate in quite alot and had to throw some of our tesco order away as no where to keep it.

  • "We had a really good stay."

The property was ideal, both in terms of comfort and convenience of location. We felt very much at home there so the stay was extremely relaxing. A very small thing - would suggest making sure kit like tin foil, replacement bin bags and extra toilet rolls are provided. We had to buy these - not a great problem, of course, just a bit unusual and inconvenient not to have them. All in all, though, a lovely property and a credit to it's thoughtful owner.

The only MINOR issue is the door in the picture is the back door inside a locked gate which you are unable to see when you arrive. HOWVER reading the email directions fully, allows you to find the property entrance. Parking was not a real issue as we used St Hildas Car park less than 2 minutes away. Permits for on street W zones was provided but not used.

  • "Upon our arrival, it became evident that the cleaner hadn't tended to the space since its previous occupants."

Our arrival was accompanied by a heavy downpour, making the search for the place even more challenging. The initial online photos showcase the obscured back door, further complicating matters. This aspect undoubtedly warrants an update, especially considering the cluster of numerous holiday homes in close proximity. Following a call to the agents, they promptly extended their apologies and suggested that we pass the time by enjoying a drink elsewhere for a few hours while they arranged for the cottage to be thoroughly cleaned. Despite being thoroughly drenched due to the rain, this interim solution wasn't exactly enjoyable. Nevertheless, it's worth acknowledging that the agents were genuinely helpful in this situation. Furthermore, they kindly requested that we retain the receipt for our drinks and informed us about the availability of a hamper. I'm cautiously optimistic about the prospect of our reimbursement for the inconvenience we've encountered. Looking ahead, I anticipated a smoother and more comfortable experience as our stay progressed, which it did as the cottage is very nice, and ideally suited for the places you want to explore

Lovely cottage, comfy bed and great shower. Only one complaint really is to do with resident scratch cards. We were booked in for a 5 day stay but only received one 4 day scratch card. Obviously forgot it had expired on 5th morning and received a Penalty Charge Notice … quite early too. Of course it has been paid as we were ultimately at fault but I think if 2 cards had been left to cover our actual stay, it might have alerted us to change over.

Nice old cottage with a comfy bed and clean interior and lovely shower. I can’t comment on the kitchen equipment etc as we didn’t use them as we ate out, but everything you needed seemed to be there. There are some parking bays outside that were occupied but we have a big car anyway so once we unloaded, we used free permits provided and parked a couple of streets away. Our dog was happy, 2 small yet safe courtyards that he could access easily. The location was very central yet super quiet. I’d definitely consider returning.

  • "The attractive little house was very clean, freshly decorated (I liked the colours!"

) and nicely presented. However, it was spoiled by the terrible stench of damp and mould in the kitchen. After sitting for half an hour at breakfast the first day, my eyes were burning from the spores and my husband's asthma was triggered. We had to eat all our meals out. The cupboard under the stairs is like a gas chamber - opened the door once and never again. The cupboard under the sink and the wall cabinet nearest the window are also bad. And this was in a dry week. What it's like after days of rain I dread to think. The drier wasn't working properly. There was spin, but no heat. We had to dry our clothes on the radiators (which happily work very well.) Two small points. First: there is no soap dish or caddy in the shower. You have to put the soap on the floor, which is not only a nuisance but dangerous. Come on, Owners, do you put the soap on the floor in your own shower at home? Thought not. You wouldn't put up with it, so why should a guest? Second: well done for providing a hair drier, but to use it you need a socket next to a mirror. The socket in the bedroom was in the corner behind the chair, and too far from the mirror for the flex to reach. These are small points, but the daily nuisance of them makes the difference between making a return visit and going somewhere else. Don't spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar. The mould problem is more serious, of course. It's not just a horrible smell, it's a health hazard.

  • "The house was pretty comfortable and spacious, but what let it down was an accumulation of a few major and a few smaller things."

Parts of the property did not live up to the advertised images and were in need of upkeep; we couldn't use the courtyard as it was an unpleasant space, there was an unpleasant odour as soon as you walked in the front door and the bathroom seals really need done. Other things are a broken lamp in the living room, a half broken toaster, a hall light that just flashed constantly and a broken tumble dryer. These were more inconvenient than anything but still it took the sheen off of our stay. The courtyard was particularly disappointing because that was a large part of the decision to book this particular accommodation. Furthermore we didn't believe there had been a deep clean as was evident from the dirty windows and surfaces. I appreciate current circumstances have affected everything but from our perspective it just looks like an excuse to cut out the welcome pack. Consequently I don't feel inclined to book a managed property as we had a private property the week before and the difference was noticed. I would be interested to know your response. The bedroom was a good size and bed comfortable, looks like new carpets throughout. The only thing we felt let the cottage down was the condition of the bath - the seal around the shower screen and bath was moldy and black, it needs to be removed and replaced and the shower wasn't very powerful and difficult to get the right temperature. We would visit again if the bathroom was improved.
