  • "I only stayed for 10minutes and came home."

Smelled of damp, fridge full of water and mold, wallpaper coming off the wall, dusty and feisty smelling bedding nd towels. I think Sykes should check properties before advertising on their website. The whole experience was a let down and its me who's out of pocket.

  • "We found the retreat very comfortable, it was close to the beach and many facilities."

When we had any issues the owner was very prompt and helpful in sorting them out.

  • "We had a really lovely holiday at Seaside Retreat."

While we were there the old floor covering in the kitchen and bathroom was replaced and looks very nice. The towels were brand new which we appreciated. We hade everything we needed for a great stay. Location of the chalet is good as there is an large area of lawn in front of the chalet which made it quieter as it wasn't surrounded by other chalets. We would definitely book again.

  • "This property is in desperate need of repairs and updating there are stains on the carpet, wallpaper is peeling off doors with missing handles damp stains on the ceiling and inside kitchen cabinets pots with cobwebs on the sofas are so low you are almost sat on the floor The area outside is very uneven And the place is adorned with cheap plastic sun bleached plants."

On the upside the beds were reasonably comfortable even though the rooms were very small I wouldn’t recommend for anyone with mobility problems and I can’t imagine how six people would fit comfortably

  • "We only stayed at this property for 5 minutes before we booked a hotel."

How Sykes allow this property to be on their books is beyond me. The standards of hygiene were abysmal and owner non contactable. I am claiming a refund and compensation for the last minute accommodation we had to book.

  • "Need cleaning!"

Dust everywhere, literally as it has not been cleaned for months. Carpets dark from stain with pet hair. Vacuum cleaner was never emptied. We vacuumed ourselves and the filter was full again. Bathroom mat and towel smelled bad. Kitchen utensils and plates needed another rinse before use. Positives. Good size chalet for a family of four. Great location, only 3-5 min walk to the beach, can actually hear the waves from the chalet. 7min drive to the shops and town center.

  • "The property isn't really big enough to be listed as 3 bedroom, this gives a false impression of the size of the property."

I would describe the property as grubby rather than dirty. Although the property sleeps 6 there were only 5 large plates and 5 mugs! No handle on the outside of kitchen door and no barrel on our bedroom door. Only heater in bathroom was towel rail which didn't work.
