"As we have a disabled daughter we were a little upset there was no downstairs toilet, as how it read in the information it somewhat was misleading!"
Otherwise the place was amazing and very clean and we would recommend you to everyone! One other little thing was there was only one large saucepan in the kitchen. And the hot tub ran out before the end of our stay!

"1. Needs more storage in bedrooms
2."
Chalkboard in games room
3. Toilet bins
4. More outside green bins for both properties
5. Needs better cleaning as we found food under sofa, freezer, down sides of beds and bathroom floors still dirty.
6. Nowhere to plug in freezer because wire wasn't big enough to plug into wall.
Was nicely decorated and location was good.
Hi Amanda thank you for the honest feedback.
Unfortunately I think that regarding the cleanliness the housekeeping team had struggled as it was the end of the 6 weeks holidays and we had multiple stays back to back with the same day change over.
That’s something we wont do next year.
We have addressed all of the points in your feedback and rectified them. Please contact us if you wish to stay again and we will sort out a special discount for you due to the issues faced.
Kind regards Charles

"A lovely week away meeting up with family."
Hot tub, games room and pool table were a big hit with the kids and big kids.
A couple of small issues when we arrived but quickly rectified by the owner Charles.
Withernsea had lots to offer, we had beautiful weather so made the most of the beach and beer garden’s. We were lucky enough to be there when there was a festival and a classic car show.

"Disappointed on long drive was emailed that garage wasn’t available but we could park to the side of the property."
Arrived and was greeted by annoyed neighbours saying we couldn’t park there. First morning we were awakened by builders at 7:30 who needed us to move the cars. There was no on street parking so had to park a 10min walk away from the house. After speaking to the builders during the day they kindly allowed us to park within their property during our stay.
The beds and mattress were really uncomfortable and there isn’t any windows in any of the upstairs bedrooms just a small porthole to allow light in also isn’t any windows in any of the bathrooms. It was really hot and I can’t imagine what it would be like staying there in summer. The kitchen cupboards had old food in and no space for anything else. We had to leave all our food on the side or in the shopping bags. Although there is a washing machine (that leaked) there was nowhere to dry clothes other than a small airer. The dining table only seated 6 and as a party of 10 we couldn’t all enjoy a family meal together. All the children loved the games room. There was plenty of things to do with the family within walking distance and there was a variety of shops at the top of the road.

"Highly recommend this property!"
My family booked this property as an alternative to the usual holiday campsites that would entertain the younger children and older children age range 2 yrs - 15 yrs and so glad we did. This house provides so much from board games, pool table, retro arcade games (adults loved!) to the jacuzzi, plus so much more. On arrival we was treated with essentials, breakfast cereals, snacks, tea, coffee, wine and beer- amazing! The kitchen is well equipped with everything. Every room was furnished to a high standard and we loved all the little touches, including the welcome book with local recommendations which we used. Wifi was great, the garage was spacious and could park my car very comfortably ( Land Rover). Our only recommendation the jacuzzi jets need maintenance as only one side is powerful so means the rest are just low, but still was enjoyable and didnt feel the need to contact the owners. Couple of minutes walk up the sea front and local shops. Great stay making memories, will 100% book again!

"Good Points: house was lovely."
It had absolutely everything from toys for children to games for adults. There was ironing board, iron, hoover, just like home. Also location great for amenities etc. Bad points: it looked clean on initial entry but needed a deep clean, such as skirting boards, bathroom, around the toilet. The duvets were very thin (although the house was warm). There was no mattress protector and the mattress was full of bobbly bits which felt uncomfortable. The leather settee downstairs was most uncomfortable. The seats fell off every time you stood up. The other settee had loads of crumbs when we lifted the cushions. It would also benefit from downstairs toilet. (Maybe the left corner as you walk in the door). I struggle with mobility, so it was a nightmare every time I needed the loo. Also the parking is horrendous if you have more than one car. Would have given 5 star rating if these faults could be addressed as the property has everything you need.

"Stayed over for a long weekend."
First thing we noticed was that this place definitely had the wow factor! The place has a huge open plan kitchen and living room which was perfect for socialising with all the guests! Every bedroom was beautifully presented, there were Nespresso pods for the machine, and everything was sparkling clean.
The hot tub was brilliant, we absolutely loved it!
The pool room (which also came with an N-64, and an arcade machine) was fantastic! Nothing was half broken or worn out, you can tell the owner really takes pride in the presentation of the house. Speaking of the owner, they were extremely accommodating with us and helped us out when we had a couple of issues (not to do with the house). We’re already planning on returning! Thank you for making our stay memorable!

"This house is beautiful inside."
It's spacious, well presented and it was warm throughout our stay (November 2023) with hot water all day and night. There was everything we might have needed, even a stair gate for our little ones. There is a garage for one car but the on street parking isnt great. The road is extremely tight so if you are staying with multiple families like the house suggests (sleeps 12) then good luck finding a parking space (not the fault of the owners at all). We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at the Old Police House but there were a few things that we feel needs mentioning. Firstly, 1 shower for potentially 12 people is not enough. The little ones loved the small quirky bath, and it is tiny, but we thought it needed a shower over it to help cut the adult shower wait time down. Secondly, we had to wash all of the glasses and cutlery as a lot were dirty on arrival. It wasn't just dishwasher remnants, it was greasy finger prints and something sticky was on some of the glasses. Easily sorted but not something you expect. I had to throw one glass away as it was chipped in the cupboard. The cutlery drawer had fluff, hair and crumbs in it so we needed to wash that too. And lastly, the bed we slept in had bedding that smelled very fusty. All these things are easily fixable and were probably isolated to our stay. Thankfully we're all clean people who sorted the issues we could straight away. All in all, it's a gorgeous place, right in the middle of a little seaside resort so don't let these small problems put you off. We had the best time in the end.

"The property was lovely, and fantastic bonus of games room which kept kids entertained, for the week."
Great location only minutes walk to the shops and beach.
A bit snug for 12 people, as sofa bed in upstairs lounge not comfortable and anyone needing the toilet has to walk past you.
The parking is a real issue, we should have had access to the garages but no keys were left, so unable to park a car there! We had to park all cars on the street, and they remained there all week as, soon as a car pulled off there were three cars waiting for the space.

Homely touches making it cosy. Very versatile. Responsive and helpful owner. Upstairs bedrooms v small with no windows that got very warm, but okay for a short period of time.
Hi Beth
Thank you for the kind words and delighted you had a lovely stay . I appreciate the upstairs can get hot and we are looking at ways to improve this . Whether this is fans for each bedroom or other options is still to be decided ahead of next summer .
